Snowrunner YAR 87 vs TUZ 420 "Tatarin" | Battle of biggest scouts

- This time we have two of the biggest scouts in snowrunner i.e TUZ 420 "Tatarin" and YAR 87, one is an APC and other is a 6x6 offroader. we'll do some tests on them to see which one is best among them.
- Hry
I will say through personal experience, the thing with the TUZ-420 "Tatarin" is that you don't actually need or want to be in low or high gear at just about any point. The thing will plow through next to everything at near full speed just by being in auto gear.
Things a beast in auto.
Yes do it again with the tuz-420 in automatic
auto for tuz is beast I don't no why he put it in low
tuz dont suffer of engine damage
with the "improved custom" gearbox it not only can handle anything, but its faster and can go over stuff a lot easier if you ever need low gear
Honestly these tests are completely unfair for the tuz! I've been driving both and unlike the yar I hardly ever take the tuz out of auto. Also a pull test on pavement does not show tuz capabilities. I've pulled fully loaded rigs with semi trailers through deep mud that the yar cant go through alone. I enjoy your comparison videos but I just feel this one was biased.
I am going to choose the Russian APC. Because, în a off road game, you don't need speed, you need to be steady, you need power. But, if i will go in the snow, i will choose the 6X6 one.
They're both 6x6
@@mattmacey1935 Tuz is 8x8 bruh
Did you know the TANK can easyly win in everything allmost but road if aoutomatic gear box is allowed because of the constant AWD amd diff loch it can drive in max gear in basicly ANY terain if ur not going 90 degrees up of course so the tank is ectremly much better
Mihai Tănase its a scout vehicle, for all that might as well take out a truck
It's a very slow gas-guzzling truck that can't even haul trailers (so no fuel trailer for that long trip) which makes it useless as a scout.
Might as well use azov 5319 for scouting, it's 8x8 but at least it's faster.
3:38 like bruh - BTR-80 is amphibious and really shouldn't care about water obstacles.
I nearly chocked when I saw the "dangerous water levels" icon. BiTch is sUpposed tO swim!
Kamiskub it isnt btr u moron, its GAZ 59137A
@@sshhhoooodddi5091 doesn't really matter. Engine compartment is completely the same as btr.
@@sshhhoooodddi5091 That's true, but it's based on military BTR-80, basically it is civilian version. Anyway, both can swim
Arthur Morgan RIP. I miss you man
the tuz is really ment to be used in Automatic for higher gears, I request a retest with Automatic on for Mud/swamp you'll notice a difference at least I did.
I agree, I just got the TUZ and never once hit the low gear in it, cuz it just powers through the mud. A retest is definitely in order.
Yeah 5 gear is overpowered
I dont know wjy but when I use the yar the moment it touches deep mud it just stops and wont move forward without using a winch to help.
@@paxamericania5923 tuz is just better 8 wheels more powerful engine deff the best scout! The hummer ik flipping sucks
@@vincentmiller7090 exactly thats why I use the tuz or one of the other good scouts that dont get stuck in mud. If I need to pull a trailer I use the big ford scout truck
Hi SD! You missed 1 thing for the Tuz 420, its the best vehicle in the game to go through snow. That thing is like a snowmobile. Also testing it in low gear is disadvantageous for it, the point of low gear is to limit the tire slipage but for a lot of your test it was not even close to spin. Anyway, i like these test video! Keep them coming!!
I only use low gear because in some vehicles diff lock is only available in low but I get your point
@@SD1ONE re do this on your own, in auto. You may remake this video lol
yeah, we need snow tests also
@@SD1ONE both of these vehicles have always on diff, and Tuz runs better with Auto
SD1ONE what about his other point ? The snow
I'm so glad you're doing these comparison vids. have you thought about doing a transmission or engine comparison video
Unfortunately this one isn't very accurate since he gimped the APC by keeping it in low. I drove them both back to back, and then had a friend drive my 6x6 while I was in the APC. Despite the APC having a lower top speed, if we did anything other than a paved road I always ended up ahead by a wide margin. Especially in mud.
@@fergie89 Yeah the APC only needs to be taken out of Auto when you are towing a load by winch, and even then it may not always be needed.
@@ShepardKammander apc has no trailers
@@jameshobson1566 APC has a winch and I use it to tow stuck vehicles and trailers with that.
@@ShepardKammander i know about the winch trick but it would inprove it if it did
I've honestly resorted to just the Tatarin due to how capable it truly is. It's easy on fuel for being so slow, it rarely every gets truly stuck, it can sustain itself for a very long time and is capable of heavy recovery. Only downfall which isnt that big a deal at least for me is no trailer towing capability. Granted it does take out the challenge of scouting, it has a good role to play which most scouts cant normally handle.
It's only real faults are being slow, horrid on ice. Granted fuel consumption is high but not bad enough to be a negative impact
Both of the vehicles are great. I personally would choose the APC because of the shire power. If you put it in snow, it acts like dirt. If you put the Yar in snow, it acts like a mud pit.
Yes finally a pull test! This is important even for scout vehicles and one of the reasons I prefer International loadstar 1700 over almost every other scout in this game, it can easly pull heavy vehicles and big 2x cargo over steep hills and rough terrain where other scouts struggle
Also it would be nice to add a total run time with additional fuel from roof racks in the future (maximum run time without fuel trailer)
Loadstar for life
The bad thing with this test is that the yar only failed becouse of lack of grip becouse the tires where mud tires
@@jsjsrggwgw2658 I think both vehicles had Mudtires, the Yar is just lighter, less friction, less grip.
Loadtstar 1700 is favourite, was the first vehicle i bought, sold the chevy ck1500 and the gmc starting truck to buy it haha, Really big and heavy with hige tyres and a big lift kit, plus it has the truck wheel options so you aent limited to the 2 default ones the other scouts have can make it look so much better, and has alot more repair points and fuel than the other scouts too, IMO it's the best scout in the game these 2 are way overpowered and make the game too easy
3:47
Amphibious vehicle in real life : "I can swim in watery mud almost as fast as i can drive on land"
Amphibious vehicle in snowrunner : "Halp mud hurts my engine!!!"
The apc in snowrunner is not amphibious vehicle ..its just a normal armoured 8x8 rescue vehicle
@@pookiesnooches1261 Then whys it shapped like a boat???
@@samuelmatheson9655 why not?..tank also shaped like a bot but cant float
@@pookiesnooches1261 you literally can see the propeller cover at the back of the tatarin and yet it doesnt like water
Try the same tests but keep the TUZ in auto in mud, it'll keep in 5/5 pretty much anywhere so it'll be much faster in almost every situation.
True TUZ don't need low gear but even there yar 87 it's not to far in speed i have test it them both , it's like SD1ONE said, Yar it's a best scout overall and TUZ the best rescue, and in snow yar it's he best
@@ragerblitz821 On ICE the YAr is better, in deep snow the Tatarin is unstoppable
After unlocking the 420 my YAR just sits in the garage. For me personally the 420 is far more capable in basically every way and task. There is nothing in the game that can traverse crazy terrain at the speeds it can maintain. Since it pretty much cant roll it can get away with the big winch instead of the autonomous and has massive pulling power.
@@ragerblitz821 nope
Never ever problems with yar 87 if you change your gears well and timed it's not so behind TUZ trust me , TUZ maybe it's almost unstopable but that's not everything , what i wanted to see it's yar 87 vs Khan but i think Yar will win
I feel as if this is a unfair test. The Tuz can power through most terrain without even needing to change gears into low or high. The Yar on the other hand needs low and high allot more. So really you are bottlenecking boths vehicles in these tests and simply leaving it to the physics because the Tuz is a heavier vehicle. But if you tested them and put them in the gear that best gets them over the obstacle then you will find the Tuz will come out on top allot more.
Agreed, this test does not really show the power of TUZ - you feel much more confident in it than in YAR, because it can basically never get stuck and you can go through anything just using the Auto gear. Also, although TUZ uses much more fuel than YAR, it has a huge tank, it is extremly stable because it is low and wide and has so much torque that it can pull any truck in the game. IMHO, TUZ is the most overpowered vehicle in the game, sans Azov 64131.
In my Snowrunner, I've modded it manually in order to add ice tires to the Tatarin, so it can go on ice. Simply by adding these lines below:
I have also slightly increased the tire size to 50'.
Great videos of comparing vehicles and accessories. Thank you for your time. I know these videos are not easy. Stay Safe and Keep on Mudding!!
I'm requesting a retest on this. I just got the TUZ and I have never once touched the low gear, cuz the TUZ just powers through the mud due to how powerful the engine is.
The Tuz 420 is way better in snow from my experience.
As others have stated, putting the TUZ 420 in low gear completely gimped the tests. It never needs to be in low gear. It goes through the thickest of mud much faster than pretty much any other vehicle in the game if you leave it in automatic. On top of being much faster than portrayed in the video it is also the most stable scout vehicle. You can safely go full speed through the roughest, bumpiest terrain without worry of rolling it over. Unlike the YAR 87 which rolls quite easily. I have used the TUZ to rescue the YAR on a number of occasions, while the TUZ never needs rescuing.
Wow, way better comparison vid than most.
Keep up the good wrk, Fella!
Great vid, no bullshit commentary, just great content. Please make more. I found the YAR 87 has a high center of gravity, keeps tipping over for me. Yet to unlock the TUZ.
TUZ is basicly a BTR and BTR Cann Swim
And There is no reason for it to dont have any Chains on the wheels
balance is the reason why
@@zarants Balance in a single player/Co-op multiplayer game. Nah. There are shit trucks and there are good trucks.
@@reinbeers5322 Not really, there's always a balance. The tuz would be the most OP scout if it could tow trailers and go amphibious. Even the good trucks can't do everything. And yeah there's balance in single player/co-op games lol.
@@zarants Balance like certain trucks being direct upgrades over others?
Can't think of any, especially none that have been covered in this channel before in some sort of faceoff with multiple challenges...
well even tho its a btr it cant swim it would be too op
If anyone wants to know how to get the tank legit go to the third russian map and its on top of the mountain near the garage, you just have to go to it and its your for free.
david grace gotta get to the third Russia map first
and it aint easy either
@@ThePhrogmeister It is not easy at all.
You can go too the rift and do a mission called the pacifist mission and you have to tow t tux out and you have to refuel and repair i recommend bringing a vanbody adon a a big fuel trailer and you get it for free
Another great video, keep up the good work and you'll reach 1 mill in no time!
love the dedication in this videos
Just a note on the fuel consumption figures, it looks like you've done an average of the max and idle figures which, while it does offer a direct comparison between vehicles, isn't a true average figure, you'd be better off doing a real world test by driving from point to point over mixed terrain and seeing how much was used. The max and idle figures are still very useful to know, but shouldn't necessarily be uses to get an average. That said I know it's a lot of extra work and you've already done loads for each of these videos! Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm enjoying these comparisons a lot.
I've just unlocked the YAR and it's amazingly capable due to having the weight spread over 50% more tyre area than a typical 4x4.
Doing a speed test:
Jar is winning because of it's speed
MCFrenstar *yar
@@katherinecurtis1747 it was auto correct
Very nice review ! Good job
Thank you I needed this
Please can we get a comparison of the yar vs the khan, would love to see how they preform against each other.
YAR is one of the best follow vehicles if you're playing co-op imo
If I remember correctly, the tires of the Tatarin have the highest mud rating in the game. For the most part, it doesn't need low gear.
Thanks for doing all these videos really enjoy watching them and learning but,
In pull test why would you shift from normal to high? Yar would've made that climb easily in normal or low gear
I find the YAR to be more bouncy when offroad and more likely to tip over which is why I prefer the Tatarin :)
> "TUZ cant tow a trailer"
> Next test immediately involves it towing a trailer
The vid said 'can't attach trailers', but still capable of towing the trailer with the winch
@@dzakyadzkar6133 Yes but you can only winch a trailer tongue so close. It looks literally attached.

Dragon Butt this guys English isn’t good at all I’m guessing. He said no snorkel but can’t take water damage and then 2 minutes later he’s taking water damage in the 8x8. Idiot
@@yeehaw2116 I don't see where he wrote that exact thing, you're putting words in his mouth.
Keep it up these are awesome
You should do these test on all trucks and give them points 1-10, then make a list of every different class and rank the vehicles. So when you’re done it’s easy to tell what trucks have been tested and how they compared to others
Can you do Khan Marshall vs YAR 87, just to see which one is the best scout in game
yars no match for the cheater jeep
The yar is much better it has excellent range can handle anything you throw at it the Marshall is the same but as soon as it comes to steep hills and extreme angles or rocks your toast
the Yar can pull trailors, the Khan cant. The yar has swappable tyres to chains, the khan doesn't.
Khan has the same disadvantages as the APC, it can't used chain tired and can't tow... Honestly because of this I feel the best Scout is :
1) Yar
2)Chevy
3)Hummer
And I would list both the Khan and the APC behind them because of there lack of needed options!
david nicol actually i pulled trailers, drawing trailer & tracks with Marchel
Maybe also include a short section at the beginning how to unlock these vehicles
That is a good idea!
BossBaouzza the YAR 87 is very easy to unlock all you have to do is get to experience level 10 and it unlocks for purchase the other can be found on the last Russian map
Plenty other videos out there, these are test videos not guides.
Ah some content in old style i love it
I like the videos you do for all these, one thing I think is missing from this one is the sheer fact that the TUZ 420 is way more fun to drive, not only that but it literally plows through everything in the game faster than the YAR 87, also the YAR 87 seems to have an issue where it'll sink in mud that's non-existent. Just my opinion from a console stand point, not sure if the difference is because of that.
Now can you do khan vs TUZ 420 and khan vs Yar. Please?
Tuz should have been a boat imo... Could have been the designated water recovery vehicle
Free tips for any scout that is steady and have a good power you can use your winch. So even the TUZ Tatarin can have a fuel trailer it's is just not attached directly to him.
And you can use the Tatarin like a invincible scout, I honestly climb so many mountains using only the whinch, just before full speed of the cliff.
The heaviness of the Tuz make it hard to flip so you can invest in a strong and long winch instead of the autonomous winch.
Tatarin is OP if big 8x8 struggle to tow broken farm truck in russia but when I found this Taterin it pulled another broken 6 wheeled truck across all 3 russia maps with ease. I fixed the broken truck at the garage😂Also slanted nose doesn't take engine damage when I go full speed into holes. ssst best vehicle ever but I still love the Tayga as it one awesome and fast 6x6👍
How do you keep them In a straight line seriously
@Raul Tomusca same
I also noticed when you turn , the vehicle doesn’t turn right away like other games , your tires have to align themselves to the direction you turned to first . I don’t think there’s input lag , I think you just have to keep your tires straight on the road and it should go , make slight adjustments to the direction like little taps and it should be straight
Raul Tomusca I know what you mean , when I started this and couldn’t drive straight I was about to say hell Na fuck this game but kept at it and now it’s much better
Global Saturation first person keeps the car straight strangely
@Raul Tomusca It’s not input lag, it’s just the way these big vehicles handle. It was like this in Mudrunner as well
I would have liked to see the Loadstar against the Tatarin because they are both rescue scouts
I'll do a loadstar V Yar first....
@@SD1ONE 👌
You are a Snowrunner master, i love your test vídeos, so fun. You can add the climbing (crawling) test on a good Hill.
Keep doing this fantastic job!!!
Tuz is a special vehicle. Best scout for crazy shortcuts. I've explored every top of the mountain with tatatrin. Also good for some timed chalanges as insted of a tricky tippy winding rock crawling approach, you can go literally straight to objective in Tatarin. Also the cone nose shape is best to navigate dense forest. it pushes the trees aside and it makes room. Also for true offroad (not the usual paths markerd or present do be inteded to drive on) tatarin really shines slaloming trees and going nearly vertically to every mountain top. And is a good rescue vehicle to unflip/unstuck other bigger trucks. Very slow in manual, but on auto stays at 5/5 most of the time even when cutting through marhes, forests, pits, mountains, muddy beaches, etc.
I remember when I FIRST got my WhiteStar in Smithville took an hour to haul it out of its resting place...did the same mission with the Tatarin literally took 3 min...
3:58 Horn more powerful that tuz
Torque doesnt matter in the pull test (at 04:41). The YAR has enough power, but the wheels are spinning. It is too light. The TUZ has more traction because it is heavier, therefore it pulls better and it won this test.
Like your avatar
no, Tuz has more torque
English is getting better!! Keep it up with the videos!!!!
We want see interiors and pricess too
Tatarin is 160K and Yar is 40K
The tuz is free when you find it and the yar you have to pay at level 10
2:29 The YAR has the advantage because you put the Tatarin in low. There’s actually no need to put the Tatarin in low. I want a new video where the Tatarin isn’t on low.
Nobody carnes what u want
Bruno Camargo and nobody cares about your opinion.
Bruno Camargo if nobody cares how come 3 people agree with me?
I never use low on tuz.. it almost dont need it..
lea axel exactly
I love both of em :D
I gladly switch from various vehicles, each and every one of them are better for different locations and terrain in my opinion. So in different garages, different vehicles.
Great video! New subscriber!
This comparison is very interesting.
I generally use scout vehicles in a convoy in multiplayer. So, Tuz for me. A lot of that has to do with not tipping over and being able to tip others rightside up.
We love you man 👍
I would personally say, that after reading many comments and viewing the video myself. The comparison between them does not necessarily need a retest. For the Yar, I would say, it is one of the best scouts for a good balance between on-road and off-road capabilities. What the Scout class is best at.
The TUZ, despite it being labeled a scout, is almost nothing like the conventional scouts in Snowrunner. Despite its size not being too above a scout, it does not feature the same capabilities. It is more along the lines of a off road vehicle, purely meant to power through the elements, and is not really a 'scout' per se.
I love how the YAR's horn blew over the cans.
What map are you testing these on? Is it a mod? I think I saw someone call it the proving grounds? Cool video 👍🏻
Try uphill on a loose rock no trail through the forest. Weight capacity on a winch tow. Also passenger capacity. Have you seen inside that APC? I have seen tartarin pull a heavy rig with a heavy trailer through mud! When you need to cross water the yar is better. When you need to get up a mountain or rescue a vehicle. The tank can pull like nobodys business.
You made it easier on the yar in a few of these tests
This is why i love off-road vehicles
It cracks me up how the diff lock or parking brake or whatever sounds like someone crushing an open bag of chips with the stick
Adding the engine run time on one tank is a great idea
My only issue I have with this is that your not testing in deep snow, think you can include that in future vids?
It's hard to choose because Tuz is Rescue (kind of) and it's a good scout in like in Taymar Russia, but the Yar 87 is a good scout like let's say in maps like Alaska or Lake Kovd for icy roads and lakes because it has chained tires plus it holds trailers so you can tow the scout trailers or the scout radar trailer.
I'm a fan of the Loadstar 1700 Pickup truck scout. You can get 8 gears on that thing and in high it just flies over terrain
420 is OP asf
you can go through small trees like butter and snow and mud, it's just goes, perfect for time trials, can also pull virtually any load with the winch
yar is crap when it comes to going through trees, even small branches can stop it, can't pull anything heavy offroad, can barely pull small trailers through the mud
TUZ 420 all the way
If tuz had chains and a snorkel (or better was actually amphibious) it would kick all the but. But lack of chain wheels really hurts on snow maps, especially imandra and kovd.
How do you get these test map areas? Like the road with the cars set up at the start and end on the first test you can't do that in normal mode right?
Thanks for this. Can you make a video about different transmissions and benefits on any vehicle please.
I'll try
The tuz 420 has some quirks that make it stand out, and is pretty unstoppable. But with even a mild level of skill driving you can outperform it in nearly every area other then pure pulling power driving something else.
I like these comparison videos. Is there a way to check what angle a vehicle can rollover? Maybe grab a crane and lift the side of one until it rolls?
I'll try once we have more modded maps
Please make that comparision with Yar... and Khan Marshall.Yar is practically 6 wheel Khan Marshall, and Idk if I should buy Yar or continue with Khan Marshall.
Wow it looks very real
Exactly how I use both of them. 8x8 heavy for rescuing.
Loadstar 1700 is my favourite scout, was the first vehicle i bought.
Also IIRC it's bigger than the YAR 87.
Nice video👍
how do you have so much money? Also, love the vids so much. if you want I could do closed captioning
The Tatarin is actually artificially held back. If you tweak its transmission it can go really fast, and it's engine actually consumes more than that of the AZOV 64131, despite it having less power. Tatarin is nigh unstoppable.
The Tatarin is better for scouting watchtowers and for conquests. You can do Mountain conquests in Alaska with Tatarin easier. Also I prefer power instead of speed in harsh areas.
quality content
This is starting to make me remember the khan 39 marshall vs scout 800
I love this style of video
Could you consider doing the scout 800 vs the Chevy??
CamaroFan I meant scout 800 lmao
Jack Slater haha I meant scout 800
These are actually both brilliant. Im my opinion. Neither wins. They both have there strengths and weaknesses. I was expecting the TUZ to be horrible in fuel. But the larger fuel tank makes up for it. Shame it cant attach trailers. the yar is a great allrounder. And the TUZ is a powerhouse. it depends on what you want them to do and where you wish to take them. Both will go literally anywhere. But how efficient they are in said location is down to the minor differences.
Performing well. Superman does good. These vehicles did well.
How do you do your intro video like that? Is there some kind of theater mide?
The Tatarin doesnt have amphibious BTR capability but it has a waterjet. What was the developers thinking by putting the waterjet without any use on it
How come you have so much cash and all the upgrades? Pc mod/cheat? Nice video btw!
Speed gear and High button - best synergy!
What area do you test these vehicles in? The mid pit and ice climb look fun
It looks like a modded test map
Respect ❤
Please compare scout 800 and Chevy ck1500, it would be very interesting and helpful to new players.
Bravo !
should have done a heavy truck pull. Thats where the tuz came in handy for me on lake island pulling a semi with a trailer from the mud.
Ad a maximum tip angle if you can find a bank to drive up one wheel until they flip over
I’m still gonna be choosing the Tuz that thing is so fun and powerful
yeah, and thank goodness fuel is free in this game
would love to see a YAR 87 vs Kahn Marshall
