I'm fairly new to DCS. And, as with all newbies, as soon as I got comfortable I started looking around to see what people were doing to enhance the experience. I’ve been screwing around with Helios for years and finally figured it wasn’t worth my time. After watching this I’m dusting off my old Dell touch screen and giving it another whirl. y cant get te lua working i have 3 x 1920 x1018 screens in landscape and a 21.5 touchcreen in the middle under the center screen i did got te programme see the virtual cockpit but i cant get de screens like MFD etc on the right place can you help me with the LUA so HEEELLLPP
how do you know what goes in X and Y on the left and right MFCD setup?

hey capt In the A-10C II profile can you tell me how to get rid of the MFCD bezel in the profile I have overlaid my thrustmaster cougars over the top of the graphics you put in the profile and its just a touch wonky if i could remove the graphics then i could make the view port just a touch bigger looks better on screen. please advise
Hello, I am new to DCS and I wanted to ask if there is a way to port just the MFD outputs to a 7 inch touchscreens? I would buy 2 x 7 inch touch screens for the MFD output and use my Samsung table for the UFC in my Viper setup... This is something that I am considering if it is possible...if anyone has any knowledge of this please let me know

I have a small issue with my install for DCS HUEY. When I start up control panel it stays on screen for 3 to 5 seconds then drops to the taskbar, we cannot run Helios. Can you help I have limited sight this really adds to my experience in the game. Thanks
i'm lost at 6:04. F18 folder was empty from transfering to another folder. Now 3 files with a read.me are there which is not on mine. so since this video is edited, where do i get these at.

I have a question. i have trustmaster real mfd screens. I'm getting images on mfds in helios, but the image is shifted even though 640 x 480 mfd screens are set. so it doesn't fill the screen. how can i solve this problem? best regards.

If you go into F10 map, does the cockpit screen still show all of your screens as normal? My guess is yes but just asking.

I have a problem to link the gauges with DCS. I copy the file Scripts to the folder indicated but the gauges don´t work at all. Any solution? thanks in advance

Couple of days ago I purchased Ka-50 Black Shark 3 update, which is great BTW but does not seem to work properly with your Ka-50 profile. Do you know of that problem? Thanks for a really good walk-through, easy to follow. I set up the F-18 as per your steps but I cannot get the buttons to work in Helios. I tried the trick with running as admin and having blank Notepad running to capture any key presses but I get nothing. I rechecked the dcs.log and make sure all the lua files were in the correct place. Anything else I missed?
If controls in Helios don't move controls in DCS is because the export, so check if you got the scripts in the correct place.
no export.lua in the F16 download. It's just the CaptZeen_F16C_v1.1.hpf

I did everything exactly as you do and everything goes so far only the RWR UFC and some others do not show

Thanks to your tutorial, I was able to get one of your profile to work without trouble.
Now, I can't help but notice that the needles movement are far from smooth, and it's kind of a dealbreaker for me.
Is there any way to set the refresh rate higher?
Otherwise, great tutorial and my deepest gratitude for sharing your work!
Did you find any solution to the choppy needles? I kinda feel like they should be easy to fix with an update to the refresh rate, but I'm an idiot behind a keyboard.

Hello Capt Zeen, great tutorial, followed it done everything, everything worked right to 2 monitor setup.
I have OVGME setup but 2 monitor setup doesn’t appear in available configs in DCS. I checked the DCS config folder the file is thr but still doesn’t show up. Any ideas?
check the 2 monitor setup with notepad++ and look for any errors in there. If there are arrors on the file, the DCS menu don't show the file. You can send me your file and i can take a look. You can find me on my discord channel.
Any idea on how to get the IFEI, RWR and UFC to display data? The other screens work and all the buttons, but these are not showing for some reason.

Primero, enhorabuena por el excelente vídeo. Todo perfectamente explicado paso a paso. Segundo, quería preguntar algo: tengo todo bien excepto que las pantallas que exporto del F18 no salen nítidas, y no se ve bien. Sin embargo con el Harrier no pasa eso, las pantallas salen perfectas y se pueden ver sin problemas. Sabría ayudarme con eso? Gracias
eso es debido a que ED no exporta correctamente los viewports del F18. tienes que modificar unos ficheros. si entras en mi canal de discord, tienes un pin en viewports-support que explica como hacerlo.

excelente video aclara muchas cosas. un favor después de la ultima actualización no me esta exportando el IFEI, UFC n el RWR. no se si me podrías colaborar para solucionar eso y si hay alguna posibilidad de hacer un video de como exportar instrumentos.
eso es porque la actualización te ha machacado los ficheros de configuracion de los viewports, vuelvelos a pomer en el directorio del DCS o use el Ovgme para instalarlos.
Capt Zeen ya volví a instalar todo desde el principio e instalé todo como en el video pero continuo igual

Hi Capt Zeen, Great video, however I am having dificulties getting the displays out onto the 2nd monitor in Helios. my touchscreen for Helios is a 1920x1080, but my main monitor is a 3840x1200, I have tried multiple ways on several nights now, but feels like I am clutching at straws.
If you could help me out here so I can enjoy these awesome looking Helios Panels I'd greatly appreciate it.

Did you end up able to use monitors of different resolution? I was considering cubesim screens with cougar MFDs until I saw this. I'd much rather get a 1080p touchscreen and run this. Trying to DCS on a 1440p monitor and Helios on a 1080p if it's doable.

those mfd should be bigger there is no reason make them smaller than in simulator. BIGGER would be nice. its simulator. not need look and be real size. so much room left and right side. make all bigger. forget right size. make mfd's bigger and squeeze buttons
I have no idea what you're on about. The Thrustmaster MFD's are modelled after the F-16, not the F/A-18c

As a programmer, I cannot understand your folder structure, lack of explanation of the folder structure, or any of your guides, it seems like they are all either outdated, or it's an EXTREMELY specific example (like this vid) that only explains how to do what you're doing right now (the Hornet overlay).
When I add my own instruments (just UFC, RWR and AMPCD), nothing works, and there's no guide that's worked to fix it.
If I load your Hornet cockpit then delete everything except the UFC, RWR and AMPCD, it works, but adding my own does not and there isn't a working guide for that. There's also too many file locations.

Yes, in this video i explain how to install my f18 helios profiles, and yes, is EXTREMELY specific, if you do what i do, you can have the profile perfectly working on our computer.
I made almost 20 Helios profiles for DCS, for free, for share to the DCS community. This installation video, do not represent all of them, but is a guide to know more or less how to install all of them.
And is not my folder structure, is the DCS world folder structure. The files on the package are in the same path DCS need to work with this modifications, and the main folder (monitor configuration) is prepared to be used with OVGME, so you just need to put it there, in the mods folder of OVGME, like the video says. Thats all!

I am not sure what you mean when you use your own instrumnents. Are you, perhaps, trying to use the latest F18 gauges shipped on Helios with my profile? Well, is not going to work if you use my export files.
Lets see...When i made the F18 profile, long time ago (summer 2018), Helios did not have the F18 interface or the generic interface, so i used the A10C interface to do it.
Later, bluefinbima made the F18 interface and his f18 devices like the ufc and ifei. But those use the f18 interface (of course)
So... if you want to use Bluefinbima f18 devices, make sure you are using his export files.
My export files for the f18 expect the A10C interface, so you can´t use my files with Bluefinbima devices.
Perhaps, one day, if i have enoutgh time, i'll make a f18 update using the new f18 helios interface. But is not one of my priorities right now.

As i tell you before, you can't mix my profile and export files with Bluefinbima F18 devices. The file locations are just the ones DCS need.
Anyway, and like i say at the end of the video, and the link you got on th edescription, you got a discord channel where you can ask for help if you need, and talk with me over there, like the other more than 450 persons that are registered on the channel.
much too complicated for normal users, incomprehensible that no one manages to make a simple install program for use of tablets or second monitors
