I remember my parents building things around their house growing up. Re-roofing their 2 story house back in 1996... Digging a 36' x12' x 3' hole for a semi-above ground pool and a bunch of other things the years after. 20 years after the installation of that pool, they removed it. BOTH my parents looked at each other and my dad said, "We did all this 20+ years ago?" which my mom answered, "Yes, we were 20 years younger then." Enjoy the youth and energy of what you can accomplish now, so when youre older. Its done, its complete and you dont have to worry about it. Because what you did saved you the money for people to do it for you when youre in your 60-70s like my parents are now. pace yourself and enjoy. Hard labor is hard on the body. For all thats holy.. KNEE PADS!
Happy New year to you all and can't wait for the new content coming in 2024

Your attitude towards “I’m going to get this done!” Is AMAZING !! Your willingness to learn and adapt is STRONG! Everything you doing is great brotha!! I’m no roofer either and when I did my little bitty 10x12 I was sore so I can only imagine how sore you are 😂. The only 2 things I think I would have done differently is get the radiant barrier sheathing only because I don’t think it’s much of a price increase. The other thing would have been to put a ridge vent instead of putting the other vent that you put on. Either way though this is coming out AMAZINGLY!!! Congratulations on your success ❤

One thing I would’ve suggested before you put down the underlayment was to put down zip tape to seal the osb gaps and still have room to expand just so in case the underlayment gets ripped off with the shingles during a storm, you still have some waterproofing between the OSB board.

For your gap between plywood you could tack a 16 nail in the purling above your sheet and then put your next sheet against the nail to give your gap then pull your nail out but i seen your clips but couldve saved money on clips just tacking a nail and removing nail after securing your sheet good job buddy

Lowes Tip, Get you a list of what you need per project and go to pro desk and have them get you a QSP, it will come back with a bigger discount. We’ve got 25% or more on our houses we build. We’ve got 45% on electrical last week. Buy what you need off of the QSP and come back and purchase off the QSP the next trip to Lowe’s

Nice work man. Being a fellow Texan (ATX here) that is helping my dad build a carport/shop (way smaller that yours) , I can relate to the agony(s) and the Yay(s) of doing this roofing project.. Pain in the ass for sure. The Chalk lining, layin and cutting the shingles (the wrong way at times), blistering the hands, reloading the nail gun (and dealin with the jams, bent nails, and double nail shots), and the re-runs to the Hardware Stores (Home Depot or Lowes)...etc.... Also, like you, we are dodging the infamous Moody Texas Winter Weather.

    Literally NAILED IT
    PS
i calculated the price of the roofing materials if you buy it in Poland
OSB around 1810$ for "standard" osb (ask me why its more expensive in EU than osb in US exported from EU xD )
    Lumber around 400-500$
roofing shingles + drip edges + under layer + nails == around 5700$ (for something like the ones you use , or cheap stuff for around 4300$)
screws around 200$ for "standard" quality
    PS 2
if you want to insulate the roof check radiant heat barrier , it's like mirror ...but for heat , it reflect the heat before it reach the insulation (but it need air gap to work , without air gap if the reflective side touch the wall / roof etc it wont work

How in the hell did I miss a video? Every time one of your videos popped up, it has always been in my feed, even if it didn't include shop work (yes, I clicked on those videos too, just to keep the feed going), and this one came up and I was excited. But then I thought, wait, did I miss something? So, I clicked on the page and saw that there was one three weeks ago talking about the roof sheathing installation, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how this one didn't show in my feed. CZcams is still trying to get me to watch Tim Pool videos from months ago that I didn't watch, but somehow missed the video prior to this one from you. And it's not even a "controversial" video talking about politics or firearms. Damn you, CZcams!!!

By the way, make sure you install an extra trim on the side, covering the side of the shingles. The wind will tear the shingles up otherwise.
