    1:53. They are not flowers but seraphim, as in the highest Royal Order of the Seraphim.

    The krona was created as a currency in 1873 when Denmark, Norway and Sweden decided to replace their old currencies with a common currency; in Sweden it replaced Riksdalern 1: 1. The different national variants of the krona were later linked free from each other due to domestic monetary policy in each country.
    A Swedish krona is divided into 100 öre.

    The two most beautiful coin designs in Swedish history are the larger silver ones of Gustavus III and the gold coin of 1925 as I see it at least.

      Swedish older coins are better than the current ones. Sten Sture coins are attractive.

      I suppose you mean the Riksdaler. It is much older than for the reign of Gustav III. The first Riksdaler was struck during the reign of Gustaf I Vasa in 1534. The first modern Swedish king, after the liberation from the union with Denmark. Riksdaler was modeled after the german thaler.

    I bought a ton of these yesterday. I paid 0.99x spot for them, fine weight. They are worn, as expected for such old circulated coins. Hope I didn't overpay.

    • @Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes
      @Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes  Před rokem +1

      If you got them for under spot, how could you over pay for them?

      @@Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes I don't know how much below spot the buy-back-price is. So I figured there's still a chance I'm paying too big of a "premium", despite buying them at spot or, in this case, at 0.99x spot? I don't know... seemed like a decent deal to me, and a good time to buy silver, all things considered. But I always second-guess myself. I'm the worried type - makes for a good prepper stacker I guess. 😛

      @Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes  Před rokem +1

      Its is ok to second guess. I do it all the time. The buy back would depend on the buyer. But I think you will sell when the spot price increases. It is like the stock market, buy low, sell high, unless the company goes under, but that is not a problem with silver.

      You did okay. I usually get the 1-kronor a little under spot in circulated condition. Love stacking the 80+% Swedish coins!

    Also 1952-1968 is 40% silver. With a new king, Gustaf VI Adolf. 1968- is copper nickel coins, not silver. 1968 actually has both variants.

      Ah yes I saw the info about the 1968 coins, like how Canada issued some coins in silver and nickel for 1968.

      Minnesmynt, they are all legit payment. Sometimes the silver value is higher then facevalue, sometimes revers,

      Those are commemorative non circulating coins. These 1 Krone were demonetised on the 30 June 2017

      I know that your coin is not valid. But the commemorative coins pre 2017 are legal payment and refundable at face value. www.riksbank.se/en-gb/notes-and-coins/coins/commemorative-coins/redeeming-commemorative-coins/
      So collecting Swedish commemorative is a great idea. There are some in circulation but very few. The 200 kr have high face value then silver, but most are lower face value.

      @Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes  Před 6 lety

      There are so many silver commemorative it is hard to keep up. So I only collect those of good designs. Do you recommend any silver coins? I will have to do a video on one, or maybe you could?
      Thank you for commenting and educating me.

    I have the 1948 one so sadly 40% silver. But since ”most” people turn theas in and mest them down for the silver. If there comes a time where this coin is not very comon it MAY increase in val. Ofc it is 100% sure its gonna do that. But if a coin is ”rare” and not super super easy to find it Will probably increase in val. All tho it is a 40% silver coin, the silver coins are one of the worlds most expensive coins. Prity sure the agent and rare coins for like 300-400bc and further back might be better. Silver coins are one of the most expensive kinds of coins in the world. Sorry if i spelled alot of words wrong i typed way to fast😂😂

      Yer a lot of coins get melted down for their silver content. Always been that way. They still melt down punch marked coins.
