Oh that’s sweet to hear. Oh for sure you would miss her so much. I lost my mother when I was younger and lost my father almost 6 years ago. You really miss them when they pass away and into eternal life. Your mother is now your guardian angel. They watch over us mortals. It’s most likely when it’s our time to go they’ll be there to greet us there.
I begged my mom to hang on and keep fighting to stay alive but after talking to the doctors that explained she was slowly dying while her organs were shutting down, I laid down with her, held her hand and whispered that she can let go and we can say goodbye letting her go to the afterlife. I knew she was eager to go be with my dad that had already passed. I thanked her for individual things that she did for me my whole life and kept thanking until she soon passed. It was quite the experience. She passed in 2004 and I still talk to her almost every day.

After death from this earth, no one hears, be or talk to anyone on this physical plane. The Bible says after, death we go to judgement. Be blessed.

my mom was on hospice and a nurse told us a story to help us cope and a guy was on hospice and wanted to watch the superbowl superbowl and he was so very sick but the day of the superbowl he ate he drank a glass of water and told them if he could have a shower cause hes gona watch the superbowl and right after that hes going to be with the lord and they were like no your not he was like yes I am. so they did they got him all ready after the super bowl he passed away and that was the first time his team one the super bowl so he had a good death GOD IS GOOD

My heart goes out to anyone in this position. I was, along with my brother, with our beloved mama, and the entire grief struck time, it was heart wrenching. The hospital care was lousy, so when I saw my mother stop breathing, I screamed for help. No one came in right away, and when the nurse or whatever she was came in she said coldly, what is the problem here? I was enraged, but so traumatized by watching this and seeing my mama gone, that I kept my mouth shut. It now has been two and half years, and everyday I relive that along with the horrible site of the funeral and all of that. Everyone deals with this differently, but having lost both of my wonderful parents, the heart ache and grief never goes away, it becomes part of your life. Don't let anyone, no matter who they are tell you how to feel or act. Until you lose someone so dear and so close, no one can relate. All the caretakers that are wonderful, you are rare and so appreciated. Luckily that man had his family and that wonderful nurse with him.

Me (Otessa) widow of (Robert), lost my Husband on 07 September 2022. When his heart stopped beating, my heart stopped beating along with his. He was 62 years of age and I am 69 years. He was a man of integrity.
I'm something like the man in Carolyn's story. It may sound odd but I would prefer to die alone. I want the experience to be just me and the Lord or whoever He sends to get me. I don't want to be one of those people found two weeks after their death and their bodies have been decomposing but I want my death experience to be private, no other people around. Also like the man Carolyn told about I've had to be the center of my family. Most of them are gone now. From what I have and do experience I'm surprised I haven't died long ago because of the stress. I have one disabled brother left and could be called his caseworker. If he should predecease me I wonder how much longer I would live as there would no longer be anyone needing or depending on me and keeping me connected to a world I don't want to be in. I've wondered if my sense of duty and obligation have kept me alive.
You do have a sense of duty that seems to keep you going. I hope you find peace when it is your time. ...and may those who have gone before you, make your passage easier, which im sure they will.
My mother disown me prior to my death esperance, my wife asked it she wanted me to call her when it happened I said if she didnt care about me before why should she now I'm dying, 2 sisters also who havent seen or spoken to since I was disowned. Been 12 years nothing. I dont blame ya for feeling that way.
I was a case manager in hospice for only 6 months but I worked for an agency that was more interested in tearing the nurse away from the bedside of someone who was near death because there was an intake that needed to be done. I left a few patient's bedside knowing they were very close and was at the other person's home doing an intake when I'd get a call saying that the other patient passed and then I'd need to go and do the pronouncement. How I wish I could have done more of what you did for this man in his moment of need. How I wish.
From my own death experience with massive pulmonary embolism . I died in the ER with nurses an my wife at my side. Its the most peaceful and easy thing to do. After 30 years of pain left from spinal operations an drs screw up. I had the attack n fell in my house , the emergency squad came and got me up in my recliner . With no other problem n they cked my vitals I refused going to the hospital . By the next day I was having a hard time breathing so they came and took me in . Thats when it happened. My nurse when I came back started screaming that I was a miracle man. So proof is there.God has brought thru 6 death experience in the past 11yrs. My DR cant believe how IVE lived .
I was caregiver for my 93 y/o mom, only regret I have is not calling Hospice about 3 days earlier (She wanted to die at home). Within 12 hours of her passing, she was short, like 5-3, but whiddled down to nothing. Most amazing thing of the 5 years as caregiver, this little deathbed lady held my hand (Only Child, son, have older sister was adopted). I swear it was like a semi truck was sitting on my hand, I mean it hurt. 6-1, 205 and it hurt lol. I would say I have no idea where that strength came from, but I do. She heard me telling my sister I was starving and my sister ordering from Applebees. I left to pick up the food, like 6 miles away. My phone rang, sister was on the caller ID, and I glowed like a light bulb, she was in my truck, knew before I answered she passed. She waited for me to leave before she transitioned, happens all the time.

Oh that’s so awful for your deceased husband and yourself. Children can be so selfish and extremely cruel. Yes, they’ll face their own karma for their self-centred act..not been with their father dying. They choose to be like this and they’ll get their own paid back at them. Smile and laugh to yourself when it does happen to them. Karma never goes unpaid.
No matter what the story or situation is, don't gossip about patient information in public areas. Even if you have permission to discuss it with another employee, do so in privacy so no unauthorized individuals overhear.

Carolyn, I have sat with patients who are passing. I'm not a nurse, I just have had friends and family that take care of family members and for whatever reason, I ended up sitting with their loved ones until their return. Anyways, I was sitting with a woman. She had disease X. She had went blind, or the eyes turned light whitish blue. She claimed to still be able to see. She was known to like men and women. I was sitting with her and her 13 year old grandson came over, she spread her legs and asked him to play with her. 🤦♀️I was so embarrassed just to be in the room! I had no idea she would do that. This is why she didn't go into a home! It's so embarrassing to think any of my loved ones may still be sexually active and out of it like this! Have you ever had a patient do this? My auntie got dementia and my uncle had to assure me she is no longer sexually active so no one bothers her or she don't embarrass herself! That's an odd question to ask your uncle but I was traumatized!
It’s normal for seniors to still have a sex life and have sexual feelings. They have experienced many things in their lives and sex is usually an aspect of adult lives. They deserve privacy and dignity for their sexual habits. The problem occurs when there is a lack of consent or physical danger.

That spirit wanted to pervert that young man was the point of that and used a vessel who it could. We must know more than surface things of life. In my experience a hospice is the place to die. In a large hospital you are a number and more or less forgotten about in a side room. Forget the well rehearsed nurse and doctor mantras, I'm afraid this is the reality. Ask yourself, why do the vast majority of GP's and NHS doctors have Private Health Insurance.
