Love this. I first heard it sampled on Busta's "Thank You" and I went searching for the original. "I Want to Thank You" was released in 1981, debuted on the Hot Black Singles chart where it ran for 11 weeks, and had heavy rotation in clubs by DJs in the US and the UK.
Busta has a song called Thank You with her singing the chorus and Q Tip is featured in that song.
