Hahaha yeah imagine bow spamming heavies from half OPR hitting ppl for 8k heavy attacks. And the FS heavy attack aoe spam was going to be wild, good changes overall
Even without IG, If the 4 sec invulnerability works in Arena people will just be running 500con heavy builds or healer builds to survive past the death circle. If so, phoenix is broken and they need to rethink it again, else it makes in essential in for anyone going into arena.
Keen Speed doesn't work while Whirlwind is active. I provided feedback on this and they decided to remove it instead of adding Keen Speed effect while Whirlwind is active.
thank you for testing it and providing feedback, i do think refreshing move was a good move by them. no bruiser would have used it with keen speed on it.
the pheonix - IG tomb thingy is interesting.. but i really dont think its all that op, so that "everybody" or major roles will then use this tech.. good playas already have various ways and builds to optimise their roles. and f.e. a good healer isnt that easy to kill anyways.. its also only once every 180 sec. so basically folks would have to give up multiple other top tech combos, just to be able to defy death(maybe) every 180 seconds.. its really not that great. *but, it could have some very interessting nieche roles and uses, for like 1 or 2 "berserker" builds.. or interesting new tech. Every time they remove or nerf everything that is interesting and new, the less cool new fun things and wierd builds we will have.. everyone is kinda the same (apart from skill lv of course)
U really think so? I mean it has 3 bis perks Stamina rec, purify, and health, the 4 sec invulnerability is the cherry on top, 4 secs is enough to win an arena round if you are both equally good, or if the ring of fire closes in and u have an extra 4 secs in flames.

Venom is actually pretty nice for a spear/sns player like myself who uses Sweep a lot. I use Sweep/Skewer/Vault Kick with Sweep perk on weapon and the rest two on armor. With Venom, I would put all three perks on armor, with Vicious or Keenly Jagged on Venom. The important question is, how does Venom compare to Scorpion's Sting and The Butcher? • Venom - strongest Coup de Grace with trench strike & crit + 20% poison dot • Scorpion's Sting - ultimate anti-range weapon • The Butcher - 30% extended bleed + Whirling Blade with 10% dot (30% extended bleed did not work with Bleeding Sweep but this is being fixed with Season 5) I think Venom can be better than The Butcher for both pvp and pve. For pvp, I would use Sting for OPR, and Venom for war and arena. I would also strongly consider sweapping my ring to Thrust Dmg/Blood Letting/Hearty instead of Thrust Dmg/Leeching/Hearty, but I'll have to test in detail.
Many artifacts are centered around rarely used abilities/playstyles. SnS with whirling blade, a dps lifestaff, mighty gavel on warhammer and so on So it makes sense to give us a spear artifact that centers around rarely used heavy attacks. The artifacts which improve the meta skills/playstyle are boring and broken, just look at Serenity...
4 secs of invulnerability?? How many times u lose a fight and the enemy has 10-15%? That extra 4 secs on point in a war can be deciding factor, 4 secs is a lot of time and u shouldn't be dying ever 3 mins.
Such a shame not every single artifact in the game makes bow better. Finisher, Lifetaker, Boltcaster, the new chest piece or boots just aren't good enough?
Finisher doesnt pertain to just bow...pretty much any weapon.. Lifetaker..fine, Boltcaster ...asss bc why? ppl complain and it got nerfed before arrival... such a joke. boltcaster is useless and of course they launched at the same time they released a dungeon that drops the perfect counter perks... enchanted ward..ele aversion. instead of completely taking venom away from range...they could have nerfed the dmg or time..but nah..they going make melee even more obnoxious. Melees have just as much speed..more kiting ability..ridiculous constant stun locks, and crazy dmg... but lets keep limiting bows @@zagohcap

The way it is coded it scales off full dex (irrc the int perks still don’t work on it) and you can make a nasty build going full DPS. What does upset me is yes the spear was going to make for a fun build I wanted for bow but because the devs can’t balance PvP Bow, Musket, and FS have to always be considerations to nerf otherwise fun play styles.
Phoenix change is so dumb In so many 1vX I get them very low before dying. Now I can a least kill them with them extra 4s, so crazy. And, not only that I'll just let it proc in my sword and switch to hatchet to survive it....haha, these guys do not know pvp at all

As a fire staff player, I agree with the change to venom. We have enough options for an off hand that are strong. Pest, finisher, deep

So I guess that Venom's poison does not work on VG Void Blade heavy attack? not that there would be much synergy anyway...
It actually does, the void blade is considered a melee attack.
Maelstrom after Whirlwind perk stacks is huge dmg :)

I don't think this is as crazy in PvP, because enemies can pop your ice block prior to the end of the phoenix dot. Still strong though.
