In my memory I watched Combat at the age of 8 for the first time. I am still pleasantly watching this drama even if I am now 63 years old. I think all these episodes will be a masterpiece forever.
And thus we learn. Sometime during the "two months later" after D-Day Sgt. Chip acquired his trademark helmet cover and Tommy gun we all know and love. I almost didn't recognize him without them in that landing scene!
Yeah, in all that German artillery they show, a lot of it is Russian Front footage. And they had no open top artillery positions overlooking Omaha. They were all casemated enclosed positions. So, yeah, they grabbed footage from wherever and figured not too many people would know the difference.
"Stevens" (Don Walter Guadagno 1926-2017) besides scores of TV appearances is perhaps best known in Papillon, Bullit, Towering Inferno. Not too surprisingly, he was good friends with Steve McQueen. In this episode, Sgt. Saunders (Victor Morozoff) finally faces a situation (albeit at the end, perhaps the best place for a lesson) where his seemingly all guiding strict sense of morality takes on a new turn: sometimes disobedience against logical orders or even laws have to be understood in their context. Merci pour le téléchargement de cette épisode.
God, this show takes me back to such a joyous chapter in my life. My father and I would watch this show religiously. He would always regale me with stories of his experience in WW2 after each episode...Thank you so much for posting the series. I felt my Dad right next to me when I was watching it on my laptop the other day. Tell Sgt. Saunders I said hi, Dad!
Enrique Briz, same here, Enrique, I was born in 1953 and watched Combat when it was new with my father who was also a WW2 vet, US Navy..I still have my Combat board game from 1964.
I watch the movies and the special effects in this t v show were so much better than in movies I watched This was really a brilliant si. Wasn't old enough to see it when I was a kid. But I watched it as a adult and I love it I still watch. This series is timeless. I will always watch. Over and over.😊
Combat , Rat Patrol , 12 O clock High . Then on the flip side Mc Hale's Navy , F - Troop , Hogan's Hero's . TV used to be well balanced . And still was compared to Todays Crap .
Combat is my favorite TV series of all time. It was just replaced by Star Trek Enterprise on the H&I channel. It is interesting that Combats unit was the 361st since Gene Roddenberry was in the 361st in the Army Air Corps. Ron Talty (Boeing) July 2016
Rick Jason was in WW2 Army Air Corp he had actual military experience I'm not sure he had any actual combat in WW2 they said his experience helped I'm sure the TV show had real combat experience advisors on the show who did see combat. My sister in law her father was part of the D-Day invasion when he was still alive he described it to me back in the 1980's. He said on his landing they did take fire but moved up slowly until they got to the base of the hills where they could take cover. Lot of dead bodies floating around in the water he was just lucky missed several close shots. He described shooting Germans lot of times they shot them in the heads because was the only part sticking out from cover.
I used to watch this and 12 O'clock High with my Dad... I've gone through all of the episodes of 12 O'clock High, now going front to back on this show... what happened to today's writers???
I see nothing wrong with Steven's reaction to a pistol being cocked and pointed at him. Treat all guns as if they are loaded and don't point at anything you are not willing to destroy are two of the most important gun safety rules.
@Marki Faux While I disagree with you on shooting the idiot, I completely agree with you that the only person mishandled the pistol. I have been at firing ranges and have experienced someone pointing a pistol at my face. When I chided them, they said it wasn't loaded.
trying to remake this show would be a act of futility, this show is the best of television, there will never be an equal, rip vic, caje, and the boys, kirby littlejohn, quality in black and white unreal
Wrong it could quite easily be recast with modern-day talent. The one thing that might be difficult is the limited amount of vehicles available to film units and the high cost of insurance. Which is only viable if a high box office return would be expected. Which rules out a T.V. Series. The one thing is a lack of second world war veterans to advise. I fail to see what the argument is about including all races and sexes as surprise surprise there were all races and sexes involved in the Second World War. And believe or not sexual preferences although those of the more colourful persuasion had to hide theirs as much as possible.
I’m genuinely intrigued how you people seem to have your own lexicon, I listened for 30 minutes & tried to follow,, but had no chance, nanno nannol🤟👽 (that’s a Mork from Ork reference)
He had grenades but no ammo fir the m1. Those two under the bridge were BETTER off there. The MG42 spits out 1800 rounds per minute. They had atleast three thousand rounds shot at them and none hit them. He should of said I can't cover you no ammo for m1. What the FUCK did they need to leave for anyways ?
Definitely a Rolex Submariner 5512. I.D.'d not just the face of the watch, but also the band. Rolex calls it a bracelet. James Bond, aka Sean Connery, made that watch an icon. If you can find one, they are now about $25k. Wonder what happened to mine. They called it a "tool"watch.
So many of these actors alternated back and forth in the “Untouchables”. Seems like I saw Don Gordon in at least 2 episodes of the “Untouchables”. What a magnificent title. Even used in the Kevin Costner movie.

As usual for this series, a great job of incorporating real WWII footage with the filming of the episode. Thanks!

Yes Don Gordon
I tried to never miss this program when I was a boy. We should never forget about the sacrifices of our military people. God bless all of them

Rat Patrol is not in the same category as Combat! or 12 O'clock High. Much more like McHale's Navy or Hogan's Hero's.

Wow that's some *pretty cool trivia.* When Combat started I was 8 or 9 years old. TV was pert near Brand Spanking New.
Vic morrow was really great
In Combat never be the replacement. You get killed. In StarTrek never beam down with landing party. You get zapped. LOL. But O loved these shows.
Yeah, in Star Trek, never go down in a red shirt.

Sarge loses his helmet after his jeep crashes but when he attacks it's back on his head! Must have found it pretty quick! Anyway da Sarge is da best!
That must be Kirby's twin Brother.
From Brazil I could see my favorite TV series of all time-Combat..
I used to watch this and 12 O'clock High with my Dad... I've gone through all of the episodes of 12 O'clock High, now going front to back on this show... what happened to today's writers???
Reality shows and reruns of old programs have taken over a lot of network time. script writing is a dying art.
Jeez Rick Jason in more than three scenes. He must have been exhausted after this one
Love the sounds of the MP40
I see nothing wrong with Steven's reaction to a pistol being cocked and pointed at him. Treat all guns as if they are loaded and don't point at anything you are not willing to destroy are two of the most important gun safety rules.
The gun was cocked, yes,but it was not pointed at him. It was behind him and he couldn't see it.
@Marki Faux While I disagree with you on shooting the idiot, I completely agree with you that the only person mishandled the pistol. I have been at firing ranges and have experienced someone pointing a pistol at my face. When I chided them, they said it wasn't loaded.
Stevens is my kind of guy, even though Saunders is the so called 'best' all around sargeant squad leader..Robert at 67.

Jack Hogan Conlan Carter and Tom Lowell are still alive
Stevens, like Noah the farmer, walking into a German machine gun nest with rifles blazing. Total insanity.
He gets shot in the shoulder just before he lobs the grenade but after the opening credits he is holding his elbow. Must be referred pain😃
No, he's holding his elbow to keep the whole arm stable. He can't reach his shoulder to hold it.
At 10:03, it is amazing to hear the German bullets ricocheting in the deep soft sand. Hollywood is so silly.
Old timer film, but, not forgettable. I was 12. Before 43yrs before.
Like I said before, one good episode after another!!
Miss these shows! Like how little guy is carrying the BAR
Love combat
This is the first episode where Vic wore a steel pot. 12:47
By this time, Saunders would be a Platoon Sgt and Caje would have 3 stripes and a squad of his own...
Until 13:36, its quite wierd to see Sargeant Saunders not wearing the usual helmet he always wore.
Yeah, that helmet cover is a Marine cover that they wore in the Pacific. That was not Army issue.
Standard COMBAT! storyline: bad boy redeems himself by dying heroically.
Something wrong with that?
@@grabitt.4013 Other than being predictable? No.

Stevens mistake was not using his M-1 and grenade to cover the two under the bridge. Not obeying direct orders, you better be sure it works!
That's thirty rounds per second.
He had ammo after he threw the grenades he was hip shooting.
For the story line
Yea, counted 11-12 shots and that rile holds a clip of 8.
"How do you figure it?" . . . . "You don't. That's the hard part."
Nice view of Saunders Rolex at 30:05.
How do you know thats a Rolex it could be a Timex.

Seems like this was about as close to how it really was compared to the other war movies???
You knew this guy does not follow rules of engagement you should have just assigned him in the mess hall.
The actor who personifies Stevens is Don Gordon.Too bad the cast is not there.Sorry for my English.Happy new year 2017.
