  • 5 mile hike through Charles C Deam Wilderness on the Peninsula Trail. During the hike I encounter a baby rattlesnake!!! First time I've ever encountered a dangerous critter in the woods! In this vid I will give you tips on how to watch out for rattlesnakes and why you should take the extra time to look out for them!

When you are in area as beautiful as that WHY would you be looking and texting on your phone? Good way to trip and injure a toe or ankles. Great video, loved it. 🤠

There aren't any poisonous snakes up here in Tippecanoe County...thankfully. I saw on a nature show that the baby rattle snakes are more dangerous because they don't know how to just give warning bites... but always inject venom when they bite... whereas the older snakes don't always inject venom when they bite. Whether there is a difference in potency of an older or younger snake, I don't know. The difficult thing about trying to camp in my county is that if you don't own land or know someone who owns land, there aren't very many options for primitive camping... unless you're willing to trespass.

Old Boy Adventures I live in Grant County and I spend most of my time at Salamonie and Mississenewa. Thankful that their are none there!

Dude. Charles C Deam is amazing. forget your drama about the snake. And being thirty-eight has nothing to do with how in shape you are. I'm 46 and in better shape than you. Good comment about the salt.
