Afternoon hard body Flicks - Fishing at Scotts Point, Redcliffe

- Westerly winds were blowing for the afternoon, so it was a no brainer to hit up the eastern side of Redcliffe. I ended up at Scotts Point to fish the low to high tide period. There was plenty of baitfish around so I matched the hatch with the Rapala X-Rap XR8 and in no time, I had a massive hit - check it out in the video! Thanks for watching :)

Hey Steve, thanks for your feedback. Keep trying and persisting. Its not always sun and rainbows when I go fishing as well haha, usually it takes around 3 fishing trips to be able to make a good video. But at the end of the day, fishing beats any day in the office. Thanks for watching :)

Had to wait quite a while for the conditions to be really calm so I didn’t get smacked on the rocks and reef

yes jason your drag was very loose wasnt it i think the other day my drag was to tight and snapped on a big flatty 6 pound mono it was a good flatty ill get him next time
Hey Stevo, yeah mate, the key with hard body lure fishing is to have loose drag. This is so the fish does not pull the trebles out. Sometimes the trebles have just hooked on the lip and you don't want to pull off. I lost some good fish at the start using hard bodies with tight drag haha, it's good to learn. Cheers for watching :)

ImJasonFish cheers, and is this place still ok to fish at if its at lowest tide? Is the water deep enough off the edges of the rocks?
Your welcome. It's only accessible during low tide. Otherwise, it may get dangerous during high tide.
How close is that to the green zone ? Must be just to the right of you

ImJasonFish awesome :) I've heard that greenzone sign gets vandalised and removed by people so haven't fished there as i don't wanna risk the fisheries. Does look like it'll hold good squid
Yeah, looks good for squid. I was actually fishing the beach just on the left this morning and a good size Tiger followed and grabbed my lure. Unfortunately, didn't hook up. I say give it a shot mate and let us know how you go :)
ImJasonFish I saw Wayne from land and bay fishing do exactly the same thing 2 days ago on the sand nearly hook up a squid on lure fishing for flathead
