- Already running 12s with max4 and castle 800kv. Decided to try the 650kv with taller gearing trying to lower temps for bashing. On the hunt fir the ultimate 12s bashing power plant. To be continued…

I've had the dbxl-e 2.0 for about 3 years now. I have gone through a lot of parts and batteries. I haven't really messed with it in the past year and the last time I ran it, the castle system almost melted the terminals from the battery and esc together and I didn't even run it hard or for that long of a period, maybe 5 mins. I've come to the conclusion that castle sucks, yes the xlx2. The 1st one I have the neg wire on the esc just broke off with about a 5 min run. Sent it in for warranty, they replaced it. Same thing again with the second one. The 3rd one, I took a small piece of cardboard, folded it, put it behind the + and - wires on the esc and zip-tied it, the connections have held but now the wire over heating problem. Some time in the near future, I plan on getting the max 4/motor combo for it, maybe it'll hold up.
AWW MAN .. that sucks bro.. i havent had any issues castle outside my own error with overloading the current with gearing ratio and melting my battery terminals on my 1100kv combo in my kraton.. my gearing was waaay to aggressive for the plug connectors and i switched to qs8 connectors and that fixed the issue. my dbxle is currently running the max4 with a 650kv hw g2 motor with tall gears and it is violent quick..i will be bringing it to the channel again in the next few vids..

I just got the hobbywing Max4 ESC and the hobbywing 70125 brushless motor and 2 power hobby 8,000 mlh 6s lipos. Just waiting from amazon the aluminum 3/8 thick sheet to make my custom motor & esc mount! 23T pinion gear to start
Has a lot of power. In this vid these wheels didnt hook and had way to much will spin and blew all my tires.. had to tire swap..
you can upgrade you spur if u havent done so already. 23T pinion is a good start. Im at 28T now. Its a beast…

I just did this setup on my boy DBXL-E, what tires you using to hold up to 12s, and did you change any stock diff fluids?
I went with BRP hub wheels. The 4 bolt/lug nut pattern. I have onroad set and an off road set of tires for it. You can buy them from taylorrc.co.uk . Pretty expensive but worth it. Check out the genesis spike wheels as well. Not to many tires out there that can hold up to the torque and weight of these rigs.
Hi mate, I have a dbxle2 and I have ordered a max5 G2 250amp to fun 12s on it. I'm pairing it with the hobby wing 650kv, so I thought more volts and less amps would work out. Do you think it will have enough juice? Regards pal
You should be fine. Alot of guys running that setup..
Thats alot of power. Check Exocaged RC i believe he has a video running the max 4 on a 560kv
Yeah. Its got some getty-up for sure. I looked online and only see 560kv with max4. No one with the 650kv and max4.. so trying to find the gearing for is is trial and error at the moment. I have 44/28 in it niw and she runs hella good no heat issues, so i maybe able to gear up even more but we will see.. thx for watching✌️.

Hey ! Great that you shared this video / setup . I have the max 4 and I am deciding which motor to buy. The setup you have is one I have in mind . How does it perform under pressure ? How is amp and temperature readings . Would be very useful if you give me a tip . 🫶
