I always like to mention to those people that most assaults (about 80%) in the US are simple assaults - situations that don’t rise to the level where deadly force would be justified. That 80% is where pepper spray fits in our use of force selection. And since pepper spray can be used very early in a defensive encounter, it can prevent a lot of the remaining 20% of assaults from ever escalating to the point where more force might be needed.

I haven’t talked to anyone from POM before but I’ve definitely bought at least a couple dozen units from them over the past few years, thanks to ASP’s recommendation. Good to know the company talks highly of ASP like ASP talks highly of POM! My favorite part is how accessible & inexpensive their water unit is for training/practicing.
The first vid, when i found this channel I put it in my shopping cart & included the gel. Also put the pink cartridge for the youth aged family members. I truly forgot that my intent was to give them as stocking stuffers!

A reminder that is always needed!👍 OC is perhaps the safest non-lethal option. Some people can have immunologic side effects including blood clots because the cell-surface receptors for the active ingredient are found throughout the cardiovascular system. But yes, hitting them with the hot sauce is still far preferable and safer for an unarmed individual.
hmmmm, i guess that one immunological reaction could also save their life IF they decide to go to the next step and bang-bang? at least the perp may not bleed out.
Note: I have never heard of that possible reaction to capsaicin since it is used in pain-relief remedies in smaller doses and is a "natural" compound. Some kids are allergic to peanuts or milk or gluten, too. An abundance of caution is worse than focused intentional action, IMO. Everybody pays for the loose cannon.
When I get threatened,I simply drop my pants and start running around naked screaming wildly. I’ve never had to fight.
I’ve carried OC for about 30 years and I’ve been sprayed with about half a dozen products. I was surprised how fast acting and intense POM is. 1/2 second burst right across the eyes with some of droplets shooting up my nasal passages. I had to remind myself to control my breathing. Couldn’t see for about 20-30 minutes and the skin inflammation was a several hour event. POM is what I carry and recommend. Great company with good customer service. Flip top, ambidextrous features and 1.4% MC that is highly refined and fast acting. Not only that, but the company took about 45 minutes out of their day explaining the product, quality controls and why they do what they do. I only carry POM.
If you don’t have something “between a harsh word and a gun” you are not thinking right.
Great video - most import observation is the last 30 sec. Faith and calling aside, you can establish limits AND deescalate at the same time.
BTW- highly recommend getting those training cannisters from POM. I wish they would make them rechargeable. I bought 2 to train my wife and daughter- because I know they will freeze up when it goes down.... and all I can say is you need your vulnerable team members to be hardened up enought to use it. I've got a lot of work to do with my family on this.
I love the inert trainers. I don’t know how they could manufacture them to be refillable, honestly. And they’re cheap enough that I have a few on hand and buy a few every now and again.
Retired 29 year LEO with OC experience. If you carry a firearm you should carry OC & a tourniquet. Brief overview: Fog/cone is most effective but is susceptible to wind & if used inside will affect all. Stream (& I carry POM) is somewhat less effective but also less wind blown & doesn’t nuke all if used inside. It’s the middle road. Gel/foam takes forever to work and is only recommended in a hospital or Senior center where bystanders may be compromised already. I’ve used Fog & Stream, a number of times. When for some reason I can’t carry a pistol, I carry a Fog & a Stream.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know if there is a greater range that can be provided with the gel? I seem to remember reading that the flame thrower systems we used during WWII could have greatly increased firing distances when they were using thickened fuel. I wonder if this is something that you can put into the “advantages” column of the sprays that are in the gel form. I just ordered a POM and it’s assigned an effective “range” like a rifle or pistol. I wonder if you could see higher range numbers with gels. Again… thanks for the real world info/knowledge/experience. Much appreciated.
@@jastrapper190 I don’t know, but (based on only my own experience with gel/foam) it’s about the same as stream. There may be a brand that’s different.
It’s not a traditional gel, but Kimber Guardian Angel is a 2 shot plastic derringer type projector that shoots a “glob” of OC at 90 mph by compressed gas. They are about $40 each. Their range is probably a little over 12 feet. I carry one walking on the beach as it can overcome the wind, is lightweight, & easily fits in a shorts pocket.
Your last topic in this video was awesome. I too can not turn away someone who asks for assistance. However, I respond to all unknown contacts the same: *Support hand stop sign and a simple "I'm good".* That usually stops most people. I then re-engage the person on my own terms.
For instance at a gas station I will finish my business, get back in my car, loop around to find the person with some cash in hand and give it to them through the widow quickly. If I was walking into an establishment, on the way back out I will have money in hand and approach the person, quickly hand it to them and keep moving. At an off ramp, I have gone and picked up food, come back to that off ramp and quickly hand the bag to that person while attempting to time the green light. Saying all that, I am also keenly aware of the potential scams/setups that take place as well. It is all a balance.
You will never see the inside of a jail cell for deploying POM in a defensive situation. I was talking to a cop about tactics and he says he hates using OC. Whereas we civilians get to run away after spraying, they get to go hands on and then ride in the car with that stuff all over the perp who they then get to process later.
I greatly value that this channel does outreach to educate the community of faith.
I carry POM because I've seen it so much on this channel and it served me great when a couple dogs started attacking people while I had my kids at the park. The dogs bit two people and attacked several others, and they were not a fan of the spicy air. I was able to keep em away from other folks until animal control could take care of business... And the little mist I caught when the wind shifted....whooo boy
That’s awesome you were prepared & able to help! On the “flip side,” (though still highly complementary to POM) my 2 year old Labrador retriever found one of my POM units and chomped down hard enough that her teeth punctured the outer plastic of the unit and also the actual canister inside. I was fascinated to discover, it really wasn’t a big deal. The canister leaked but didn’t, you know, spray out of the puncture points as one might expect from a pressurized canister. The outer plastic I guess “contained” the spray and what came out wasn’t anything an arms length of paper towels couldn’t clean up. My Labrador just acted like she tasted something a bit yucky but for sure wasn’t actually “affected” by the spray in any entirely noticeable way; I assume that has to be because it wasn’t aerosolized like it would be when actually sprayed, or perhaps after biting down my dog was able to drop it/spit it out before she got any real amount of OC on her. So, if a dog chomps on one, it’s not catastrophic. But if you need to stop an attack, as @EMTGreen1 ^ pointed out, it rocks
great angle to consider for dog-owners or dog-walkers & park go-ers.

I have two issues with pepper spray--wind and confined spaces. I quit carrying a gas mask when I retired from the military so if the wind is wrong the hot sauce will bless me as well--and I know what it will do to me. Confined spaces have almost the same effect--I won't be able to get away from "the suck." There's the third issue of range but looking at the science of Proxemics and criminal goals, the distances between 18" and 12' are addressable with OC spray. The fourth issue of weapon lag time (how long it takes for the OC spray to incapacitate) I got to experience myself with tear gas training (CS and OC) and once I stopped a fight with black pepper.
I was a Marine on mess duty aboard the USS Tripoli when a sailor and his buddies decided that it would be entertaining to beat up on a tall, skinny guy. The ringleader was smaller than me, but I wasn't assuming anything--and fighting was a no-no. I was filling pepper shakers at the time, so I left the cap loose--I kept cross-threading it. When the sailor moved his feet, I slapped the base of the pepper shaker, the lid came off, most of the pepper went flying. I faked moving to the left and then the cap struck the sailor in the forehead, and he gasped as the pepper cloud drifted into his face. I ducked and moved right, gliding behind him, ready to boot his feet out from under him and do other rude things--but stopped. He threw several punches where I had been but I was behind him and out of reach as the pepper took effect--he had black pepper in his nostrils, in his mouth, in his eyes, in his ears--and the fight was over. Meanwhile, the other Marine on mess duty with me had moved to cover my six. I pointed out two sailors and commanded them to take their buddy to the nearest head and flush his face with cold water--but don't let him rub the pepper in.
That was the end of it. I had no more problems with the ship's crew (I was in the avionics shop supporting my squadron). The situation didn't call for deadly force and could have happened elsewhere. I can only guess at the reasons for that sailor making an error in his victim selection process. The pepper couldn't have felt good and there may have been some humiliation on his part. Later, I learned that he was a top-notch boxer, well out of my league. In anything resembling a "fair fight" he'd have cleaned my clock. I didn't fight fair--I threw pepper in his face and that was enough so that I didn't have to do more to him to avoid a beating. Yes, I was bigger--but he was better.
De-escalation works when there's time--but when that sailor shifted his feet and his fists came up, I peppered his face and got out of the way.

The concern I have with POM has been the lack of SDS/MSDS information available. It really should be on the website or at the very least provided upon request.

I carry a oc spray and a knife along with a firearm , every day , so it is what is is , some state they have hand to hand combat , well that's great but multiple attackers is a good reason for oc , another is , you are not the toughest person and the only one trained , so having that extra step is great , and yes I agree pom is great , and Alex is an awesome guy so I stand behind his product

I bought about 10 "POM" pepper sprays for me and my family based on your recommendation a few years ago. One lives in my car. And I carry one in my pocket most every time I leave the house. It is the perfect defense solution for the reasons you just mentioned. If I shoot someone out in the world (not someone who broke into my house) then I can go to jail for the rest of my life. Who knows how a court or judge would rule. Who knows if I made a mistake in the heat of the moment and shot the wrong person, or the right person for the wrong (not legal) reasons.

Amazing people so vehemently oppose carrying other tools… verbal judo is my favorite. But followed up by radio, POM spray, baton, cuffs, knives and a gun for lethal options. I am at the school of thought of carrying as many tools as you can- physical and mental tools. Gosh, and spiritual tools while you’re at it!

If you don’t get it directly in the mucous membranes it can take 45 seconds to 2 minutes to aerosolize and have any effect. That’s way too long.
One other word to the wise with flying with OC, check with your airline for their policy. It may be acceptable for TSA but airlines DO have policy! As an example, my usual airline whose charge card gives me miles, does NOT allow it on any flights! So wherever I’m staying, I check ahead to make sure I can get deliveries, and order before my arrival. A lot of times I’m driving back from my destination, so I know I can take it home for a spare. If not driving, I leave it with my host or hostess. I feel naked when I can’t have my EDC with me, so I’m at least prepared with OC at all times! Great training as usual John @Active Self Protection! I have noticed these God-fearing, detail-oriented, law-abiding, rule followers who I would most likely chose as a best buddy or inner circle for life.....They are also "too nice" and also fail to have that necessary element of thought "it's either him or me" when seconds count!

This is a fundamental hang-up for a disciplined person who "prefers others" and is honest and has a servant submissive nature.

taught by that chic at Luby's in 1991 in Kileen, TX who had her bang bang only 30 ft away in the car while a mass crazy guy took her dad out and almost her and 20 others.
Nobody gives a effing-bleep about rules or policy when hell breaks loose, chaos or a perp begins to take hostages or just run into a school.
Think like an individual, and don't neglect the range to keep up your confidence.
Really should be advertising the OC spray on this one.
Nice lesson. I apply the Unicorn Event scenario method to having to carry a purpose built trauma pack on my person. Push/shove I'd carry an extra loaded mag vs a trauma pack although vast majority of the time I don't carry a backup mag either. I can improvise a tourniquet & use textile fabric on hand for about any emergency until the pros arrive.
The challenge is you don't have time to improvise a tourniquet.
Planning to improvise is a bad plan.
@@dannyh9010 I wear an infinity belt every every time I'm awake, let alone when I'm out in public. If need be that will be my improvisation. I'm in my 50s & have never had to even think about needing to employ a TQ on anyone & other than my Mrs, who was an EMT/Paramedic for her real job, which was eons ago, don't know anyone else that has either. My point was/is, if one is going to say an extra mag is pointless to carry due to crazy odds of ever needing it, there are other things that directly fall into this category as well. To each his/her own though!
I just sprayed a guy 6 days ago he was warned 3x not to come over to me well he got it, The threat was stoped I got in my truck and went home everyone was safe. Adding a note the guy had those old school looking Okley sunglasses on spray still worked the guy did no say another word and went back to his car. No this was not a road rage incident.

OC spray, which is derived from pepper plants, has acidic pH properties. Milk has basic pH properties. Decontamination for me was water, soap, then a splash of milk, repeat. Afterwards, when I finished, I was fine in 15 mins, like nothing happened. It's simple chemistry.
Which brand of OC were you exposed to?
My safety plan is to do as little as possible along the continuum. Using a firearm is the most detrimental option to me regardless of what happens to someone else at the end of my rounds. If you can get away with only using OC spray that’s so much better than using a firearm. OC spray can’t miss and kill an innocent bystander.
Can’t believe they threatened to sue you for stating facts. I’ll only use POM. Consistently hot, better design and much better company.
Have you tried repuls 180? Apparently it's like pepper spray without the breathing affecting portion. It just burns your eyes.
Also look into the gotcha hat.

I am not worried about the guy I'm spraying having an asthma attack, I am worried about me having one. That's why I don't carry OC.
I am also not necessarily concerned about dying. I am a lifelong asthmatic and a very experienced respiratory therapist. I have tools on hand, and usually better tools nearby, to treat an asthma attack. What most concerns me is incapacitating myself and that leaving me open to bad things while I'm having an asthma attack.
Your statement that OC has been used as bronchodilator is very interesting. I have been unable to corroborate that or locate any information on it. Do you have a link? I would love to learn about that.

What's wrong with church security carrying handcuffs if they're trained in their use? If you have a person assault someone in your congregation and you have to pull them off, wouldn't it make sense for you to detain then until law enforcement arrives?

I'm glad they didn't follow through but I understand why they sent the letter. I've been a law enforcement training instructor for about 12 years and Sabre has came up with many innovations in the pepper spray community that we didn't previously have. First being the crossfire technology which was absolutely groundbreaking. Second being the gel. Third being a leak proof top that prevents aerosol from escaping. Sabre was one of the first companies to force other manufacturers to be honest about the quantity control of their spray by making us aware of HPLC testing and why it's important. Having said all that, John is correct. The gel is not as fast acting as streams or foggers. It was designed for officers working in courthouses, schools, subways etc. I don't always think its a good idea to try to market LE products as civilian use because the needs are different. Example: civilians need a very strong formula because they are trying to get away from an aggressor. LE are trying to gain compliance so using a less intensive spray works a lot of the time. .2% DT is very low intensity and it's probably carried by more officers in the US than any other spray. It's what we use at the academy to spray recruits during training.

I did a quick google search and didn’t find *the* source but found loads of anecdotal stories.
I have heard the same statistic in in-person training I’ve attended by another provider though.
Chuck Haggard, every police academy instructor I have ever talked to who sprayed hundreds and hundreds of recruits, seeing it on the channel, etc.
My OC top got pressed while in my pocket, thank the Lord it didn't get my junk, but set my inner thigh on FIRE.

I carry mine on a small carabineer and a breakable elastic band. It rarely hangs below my shirt tail. I feel for it frequently to verify its location, learn the feel of it's trigger and verify it's lock status without having to look. I check it every time I enter or exit my vehicle.
I had one discharge in m own vehicle once upon a time. That motivated me.
I would like to do the same with my concealed firearm, but it draws unnecessary attention. Those checks have to be either mental or extremely discreet.
Does anyone know why John doesn't like gel? I thought gel was like spray basically but just a tiny little less liquid thereby giving it greater range. The Sabre Red pepper el is an example of that. The 1.5 oz pepper gel reaches further than Fox Labs at 2oz and of course also further than POM at 0.5 oz.
No the gel can take 45 seconds to 2 minutes to take effect because of the decreased aerosolization on contact. That’s too long and so I don’t recommend it at all.

I'm against carrying oc spray because I know nothing about them. Do you have some videos showing how they work/ where to aim/ any maintenance involved/ how to safely practice/ when you should use your gun instead?
I really believe that anything you aren't trained to use becomes a liability in a fight.

There were some personal disappointments I learned of that I felt were out of my control to prevent, I think that set me off. You're prolly a swell guy and you are right about training to fight.
Yet, it baffles me that there could be all that much skill required to aim and use an aerosol can to hit a person in the eyes, then leave the area promptly?

Does anyone know why I can’t buy POM in NY state outside of NYC? I’m sure there is some crazy law, ut I don’t know if it’s a purchase or possession issue. They do sell other OC products in my area just no POM and I can’t get it shipped to my state.

Question, I wear contacts and am a little concerned on the affect of using OC of just a little bit of overspray on my eyes and the ability to see after the spray. Should I worry about this?
If you get overspray in your eyes you'll want to take the contacts out once you're able to open your eyes and replace them. It won't damage your eyes, and most people I know who wear contacts today use disposables.

Adrenaline will boost your vision beyond normal capabilities for lengthy bursts of time until you are safe and no longer in a danger scenario.
Free Tip: if u are a believer, don't forget to call on His name for help. Especially if you are physically weaker, or handicapped by self injury or improper administration or simply afraid. Be aware that after you have done all that the situation requires to defend yourself and any others under your charge....there is a supernatural force on your side. so Ask!
hey, i wear disposable contacts and always have a spare set (3 sets) accessible in glovebox, desk, and with my supplements/lunch pack.
I cannot advise on the danger of secondary exposure....nor can i say I have experience with using self-defense spray in an active attack. I pray that lens wearers can access a back-up pair of glasses or an Uber.
Extra: When is use a can of wasp spray that crap always foams up and runs down my hand/arm as I'm aiming upwards toward the eaves. So, being that the OC can propels much the same and does produce a touch of over spray because of normal wind conditions outside. I would NOT advise the removal of any lenses due to discomfort until way after the encounter is done and you can wash hands of any residue. @Ray u could truly make the situation worse on yourself than need be & make a victim of yourself by putting hands into your eyes or losing your visual aids and normal depth perception in a active threat scenario. Do what you can to cope with any slight to moderate exposure and realize the perp ought to remain at the disadvantage. U are better off so, leave then worry with comfort.
What is your take on police officers saying they don't carry it because it could get back on them?
I was looked down on and made fun of for carrying OC on shift by a department that doesn't even issue it.
I think that *is* a concern when your mission is to apprehend criminals, which a police officer's mission is. Private citizens, not so much. Even so, it is far more effective than TASER with a very low failure rate so I still recommend it even though there's a chance you'll get a secondary exposure.

Calls are not always cookie-cutter. All tools should be available to first responders.
Especially in a post-Botham-Jean, Chauvin, Dean career. If you take away long-held methods of physical restraint due to political and journalistic liberty there ought to be a replacement tool offered for each one removed.

There are still way too many soft & woke cities, DA's, mayors, judges out there. The public suffers and whatever budget they think they are saving by letting crime slide unpunished will cost them hundreds of times over with repeat offenders who escalate and get emboldened by getting away with it in that jurisdiction.
I still, say you must walk with integrity and stay individually accountable with a healthy reverence for the Divine in any field of work. When administration is indecisive, you must rely on your moral compass each shift. Try to get a small team of prayer support going until you can transfer out to be under a more constitutionally sound S.D.
@@rhymhizsong4214 Well to make a long story short, All the departments in my area (Southern Idaho) do not require their officers to carry pepperspray, and 98% of them do not carry it. The 2 agencies I worked for did not require me to carry pepperspray but I personally chose to because of my 8 years experience using it as a Corrections Officer (It works....REALLY well) Needless to say both agencies did not find me a "good fit" during the first year of probation and I no longer work for either agency.
When I said, "they are afraid it will get on them" I was speaking from personal accounts of Deputies/Officers telling me that they "heard" of another officer using pepperspray and getting it blown back in their face and not being able to fight the suspects because they couldn't see.
Also there are a lot of officers that shoot dogs, rather then using pepperspray.

I would suppose the environment and ability to control a perp once under confinement pose much different risks to the offcr than all of the unknowns of the beat?
Whether you worked corrections in a higher security ctr or with youth offenders I would consider your hands-on background to be an asset over the rookie hopefuls.
But, there have been such a myriad of injustices and insults to all that is morally upright it almost seems like a spiritual war between good and evil?!
Sometimes, it is more advantageous to learn who you are NOT called to walk with/ serve alongside/give your life to. Than it is, to conform and find yourself having committed to the wrong place at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Some entities who carry a certain noble label were compromised along the way but still are held in regard. This is a day of exposures.
I have watched some disappointing and hard losses hit some good people in recent years. But strangely, those very people were actually thankful for the boot once some time had passed and they were out of the stress that ensued.
Many of them struggled, but ended up recovering all they lost during the hardship while simultaneously finding new purpose and greater satisfaction than in their former positions.
I pray that, as this nation gets set upright many like you will be located at the right place, at the right time, for the right reason at the right season. And that fulfillment will come so that when you look back at the "poor fit" it will make you sigh with relief for being delivered from such stupidity.

Why do you not like the gel? What is the rational there? I think of liquid bleach gel and what its purpose is. The gel is to help prevent splatter. Splatter is most likely something you want when trying to hit a target like the eye. I assume this is the reason that “gell’ing” the fluid containing the irritant is not preferred. Another thought. Flamethrowers use jellied fuels I believe for multiple reasons including the gel holds together much better than a straight liquid which enables you to “shoot” it to farther distances. The gel also will better “stick” to surfaces instead of running down the surface. I assume the burning is increased because the fluid has less surface are exposed to ignite with the air when it’s in a liquid form. Can you increase the range of the stream coming out of the CS spray canister if it is gel’d as opposed to just a liquid spray? Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks. Great video. Great info.

@@ASPextra fair enough. Thanks for the reply/info. So it’s the potency that’s degraded. That actually does make some sense. If you think of gasoline or water… if you took a cup and dumped it onto a surface and waited until it was completely transformed from the liquid to a gas, and timed it. Then took the same substance and “thickened” it. I can guarantee the non thickened substance will be gone first. As a gel the substance won’t be in a form that’s easily “inhaled” into the lungs… less surface area exposed and less ability to be formed into tiny enough drops to be taken up by the wind/fans/air… or runny enough to be spread into the eyes if sprayed on the top of the head as a gel it’s liable to just stay in the hair but if a liquid it can more easily run or be mixed with sweat or smeared with the hands or a shirt sleeve etc. thanks again. Pepper gel in testing takes longer to take effect and it doesn’t spread into a cluster of droplets like stream. Pepper gel also doesn’t work well in cold weather. If a target is static it’s easier to get gel in the eyes but a moving target it’s more difficult. Gel and foam are for specific sensitive air environments and blow back with OC is overrated. I’ve never heard of someone complain that a stream OC blew back and incapacitated them or didn’t work in the wind. Also, most OC deployments are up close and personal. You’re not spraying someone 20 feet away across the street. Stick to stream. It has the strongest and fastest effect on vision which is the best tactical advantage for OC. Also, you don’t need CS in sprays. Aerosol CS is so weak it was known for a failure rate in the 70’s and 80’s which is why cops didn’t carry it. In testing it took 24 seconds for liquid CS to begin to cause mild irritation. 1.33% -1.4% Major Capsaicinoids in a stream is preferred by 3 out of 4 police department.

@@jastrapper190 absolutely. I’ve been sprayed with about half a dozen different OC sprays in stream, gel foam and cone. Out of those, stream has best advantages while eliminating disadvantages like drifting, slower reaction time and diminished use in cold weather. When I went through OC certification, Foam was what I was sprayed with because I was going to be spending more than 50% of the time indoors. A few guys were hit with Gel. Both foam and gel took longer to work. I think it was a couple of minutes before I really started to feel it. The capsaicinoids have to drop through the carriers and foam is just so thick it has delays. Cone really affected breathing (some of us standing there observing it used started coughing) but it did not affect my vision as much as stream. POM is what I carry and I was surprised how intense and fast acting it was. They are a good company with top tier products and quality controls.
I keep volunteering to take a dose for my you tube channel but we never seem to be able to make it work.....lol

As someone who faithfully carries Pom spray, i really feel like I'm owed some better video evidence that this stuff really works as good as they say it does. Hell their website doesn't even have any videos.. there's only a small handful of crap videos like this one showing it being used on someone and i mean, it barely shows it at all.. you'd think a company like Pom who's trying to dominate the edc market and who claims such strong claims about their product, would provide more evidence that their product is as good as they say it is.. make more videos of POM being used on people so we can make a real decision.. the lack of videos produced by and about Pom really make me skeptical about it..
There are multiple videos on the channel of POM exposures.
And I don't recommend products that I myself don't use, and with evidence basis.
Is bear spray acceptable to use on a non deadly threat?
“Bear spray” is a marketing term. The active ingredient in bear spray is OC. :) Usually it is marketed for bears because of the large canister, fog pattern, and long range. The only challenge with that is the size makes it very difficult to carry for most people.
I generally wouldn’t make it my first choice but if I’m in the woods and it’s what I happen to have.
It might make your post-event life less happy if some prosecutor wants to push it, and the contamination risk is higher with the larger fog. I’d get the stuff marketed for self defense for everyday, and bring the bear spray to the woods when the mission changes a little.
@@ASPextra I was more interested in carrying in a vehicle since “peaceful protesters and riots have been more prevalent recently. Just curious about using the bigger canister of bear spray cause it still a aerosol vs the larger cans of “pepper spray” are all gel based in my finding.
Not all. But a lot. Stand by for a bit if you can, I think POM has a larger canister in the works (though I don't know anything definitive or have real inside baseball!)

I went in to a federal building and they banned me from carrying my OC spray in there.
but while inside of a federal building there should be uniformed bailiffs on every floor to keep things under wraps.

every single X-mas Eve we had 3-4 svcs. Pre C19 there were a thousand in the 11pm.
For decades, my parents led the usher team and did clean-up of communion well past midnight. Prior to that my grandparents served for 2-3 decades but it was smaller building (yet big for its day.)
Of course, I wondered if they would ever get held-up for the offering. They had to walk it across campus every service to get to the safe. 2ce on Sunday AMs. Except for the major holidays like Mothers Day, Easter, Xmas, Ash Weds they only served 1ce per month for close to 50 years. Not one incident- on their watch. Multiple times as lead usher 2nd generation who watched the growth & expansion who also trained recruits my relative recomm. they have ear bud radios for all ushers & ministers upstairs, foyer, altar, choir loft. They had a great budget. But never implemented that one suggestion. Could hv been too much bureaucratic loops? But if, they had that big of a blind-spot for that many years.....i cannot imagine them taking heed to this counsel. The majority of that time, ppl were God-fearing and it was a good neighborhood.
But these are desperate times.
Many ppl are fed-up with the woke $hi# some "churches" bought into 💯. Ridiculous rules of compliance to attend that extended way past the initial buy-in. Then there was the "peer-pressure to put stuff in your veins" I'm telling u, the good ppl have left. Albeit Quietly.
