On this episode of LivinRvision, we depart Palm Springs for Dallas, Texas, where we're set to meet fans at the Dallas RV SuperSale RV Show, hosted at McLain’s RV booth. After a much-needed day off, Michelle and I explore Klyde Warren Park via Uber before connecting with our viewers. We then head back to Palm Springs, California, where Pie Girl insists on stopping for her favorite pie to cap off the day.
Next, we unveil our typical van-cooked meals and bid farewell to Thousand Trails Palm Springs RV Resort, making our way to Desert Hot Springs at Catalina Spa and RV Resort using our Coast to Coast membership. Thank you for sharing the museum with us. I love how they made sure to put all the branches of service in there. Not one could do it without the other. I remember living on the air bases and hearing the military planes coming in and going out. What an honor to serve in the US Air Force and with so many great people from all the branches. Great video, brother.
Wonderful vlog! That is great you saw the replica of the ship her father was on, a nice surprise! I feel very proud of my dad as well, he was a WWII Army veteran, part of the 20th armored division. He was a bazooka man.
I am a retired military pilot, an Army Aviator. During my career I flew UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, including in combat. In the latter part of my career I flew C-12 airplanes, and after I retired from the Army I flew corporate jets for 10 years. I am impressed by Michelle’s interest in aviation history. I have always enjoyed visiting aviation museums, like the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Naval Aviation, and the Air Force Museum, but my wife never liked visiting them, so I was always on my own.

My 16 year old grandson has always enjoyed military museums. We have a small, but nicely run one near Groveport, Ohio between Lancaster and Columbus. So enjoy the elder volunteer military personnel!

Very much enjoyed your tour of the PS Air Museum!!! You mentioned Bob Pond and he was so instrumental in the creation of the Air Museum. A funny thing about Mr Pond is that he was sooooo wealthy but he and his wife used to eat breakfast often at McDonalds in Palm Springs rather than have their house staff make breakfast for them. Great to see you all touring my old home town and sharing it online.

I once had a religious leader teach us that “there are angels around us.” His message spoke straight to my heart. Those “nudges” we get to do things that seem to come from nowhere are from those angels around us. This I truly believe. A big thanks to Michelle’s father for his service and sacrifice. I do appreciate the freedoms we enjoy as a result of those who sacrificed for the protection of those freedoms. And thanks for a great video.

We actually passed the museum on our way out to Joshua Tree that Friday morning. Ed knew more about the museum from our neighbors. Looks like a good $21 investment for us Seniors! Gave me an idea of what to do with my dad’s original WWII flight jacket. He was a pilot and I still have a few of his items. The uniforms I donated to the Air Museum in Balboa Park in San Diego. I have his original flight book and aviation sunglasses along with his goggles. The goggles have glass lenses and I also have a replacement pair of those. Maybe the museum could use them? Thanks for always giving me ideas! Miss you two already!! ❤

We did this same thing last year. Stayed at the Thousand Trails then Catalina Spa. Loved the hot springs there. The Vietnam War section was closed for a special function so it was nice to see some of it on your video.
Really enjoyed the museum. We went to the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, TX two years ago. I find these types of museums not only interesting but very sobering as I think of all the individuals involved during war. Thank you for sharing with us.

We used to own a mobile home there in the park behind it. You need to check out the size of the RV lots there. They are huge with cement patios and drives. Desert View Mobile Home Park. The lots were sized originally for single wide mobile homes. It's a nice park.

I couldnt help but watch as you brought us through the air museum, man is capable of such incredible things, and I love the ww2 era machines, ships, planes and cars, such mechanical engineering.. yet somehow, I guess its mans nature as I watched the tributes to the fallen ponder why man seems to always bring about death and destruction instead of just continually improving the place we live? But, really cool place, thanks for sharing.
Loved surprising you guys in Dallas. Would we do it again? You bet your sweet bippy we would. Enjoyed spending a little time with our "kids".......lol

Great video, we're going to have to get to that air museum. Up north near Bakersfield is a harvest host air museum, Minter Field Air Museum. Small but very impressive, nearly all the pilots in WWII trained there. BTW we love Kevin's, always have some on hand - quick, easy and of course gluten free!

I shop at Costco, BJ's and buy some of the same foods you buy! I then seperate and vacuum bag some of them to make two sets of meals for the two of us! Thank goodness we have freezers!
And some of the Kevin’s meals come in two separate vacuum packed packages as well. We just find that it takes them both to feed our hungry bellies. Lol

I am not a big poster, but this was an excellent video of the air museum in the Palm Springs area. I have followed your channel since Vinnie was your RV. Have loved all the changes in styles of RV's and travel modes. I also love the pie patrol... I am a fan of lemon meringue pie fan myself, but understand the fascination with coconut pie. In both cases good ones are hard to find. Thanks so much for traveling in the state of California!

Mmm, Sherman's Reubens are the best! Have you tried Bob Evans brand of mashed cauliflower? So delish, comes in two flavors (parmesan or garlic herb).
We have not tried that brand yet. We’ll look out for it and give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

It’s always hard picking a thumbnail when you have multiple topics in one video. If we chose a thumbnail of the museum, then those that have been asking if we ever cook in the van wouldn’t have seen that part. 😂 You just have to hope they read the title and not just the thumbnail. Sometimes it’s best to not give away the topic completely, especially when there is multiple topics. So glad you enjoyed it. 🧡

Just left PS and ate at Sherman’s. I have to say the pastrami sandwich was disappointing. Very fatty. We did enjoy the desserts. Based on the that we didn’t go back. Maybe we should have had the corn beef instead. Great service.
We had a sandwich recently that was fatty, that being said, it is not like that 99% of the time. The deserts are hit or miss but what we always recommend as everyone knows, is the Bavarian Coconut Cream Pie. It is always spot on and the best we’ve ever had. We recommended the Bavarian Coconut Cream pie and the Stacker Reuben. If you’re going there for something we recommend and end up trying something totally different, we’d suggest trying what we have always suggested.
Love your vids! Have you found that starlink is all you need? Has it worked in sites that have trees?
We only use Starlink when we absolutely need to. We leave it on “Pause” so that we don’t have to pay for it and keep in on hand for anytime our hotspots don’t have service, then take it off pause. It’s nice not having to pay for the service every month if you don’t need it. You need something that works in all conditions. Have only needed Starlink in 3 places…Yellowstone NP, one are of Canada & a campground in Washington State. Trees are an issue unless you can find a spot where it is open enough.
@@LivinRVision thank you for your input. So it sounds to me that your Wi-Fi from cell towers works in most places. Any recommendations on a Wi-Fi router? We have Verizon phones but don’t want to be limited to Verizon cell towers only. Also have you felt any need for a ladder and or a spare tire?
@kenttower8180 we use AT&T on a Netgear Nighthawk and Visible/Verizon from our phones. (Don’t recall which videos, we have mentioned a few times). If this was our personal van, then we would have both. We have been testing these vans for over 2 years now. This is our fourth model.

We wish! 😂 I guess we’ve never asked if they’d pack it with some dry ice and ship one…or two…heck, might as well make it worthwhile…a bakers dozen it is!
The Dallas RV show is so uninspiring. Who wants to drive into a gritty busy downtown to dream about enjoying the open road and the great outdoors?
well, thats the dynamic .. a gritty downtown .. now able to not only dream about the open road and great outdoors, but perhaps find a way to take that leap or journey and this show opens up the possible avenue especially to those in that gritty downtown.
Organic is not always really organic as the packaging says, but healthier option if you are sensitive to certain things. Enjoy your tours, thank you. . 30 yr Veteran (Gulf War era) and aircraft mechanic, never been to that museum but I always enjoy visiting these museums.

If you are camping in Delaware the Air Museum is right next to Dover AFB.
