Aiden is back. I am happy he still does these videos. We can't lose him like we did Sophie.
I mean he’s their kid and Sophie wasn’t. I think you’re safe
@@baussifywait she’s not?? lol
Aiden is the one that edits the videos so if he leave there will be no videos no more
settle down bro. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Mike_For_Sure Nope. Just a co-worker
I saw the sign for Burger Chef. My mom used to take my brothers, my sister, and myself there when she would take us with her to do her grocery shopping.
Gaynor, you are right. Hot dog machine is the rollers !! 😊
Big Boy still survives. Frisch's and Elias Brothers were original franchise owners and still sell the Big Boy name.
Does anyone else remember Roy Rogers? They had the best bacon cheeseburgers.
I am a former New Jerseyan and I think the Steak & Ale Gaynor remembers was on Route 36 in Hazlet or Middletown. All of the towns blended in, in that area so I am not really sure.
There was a Showbiz Pizza in my city when I was a kid. I never got to go to it, but I remember it being there. I remember Steak & Ale and Chi-Chi's as well. It's been so many years since I heard the names of these places that I'd totally forgotten about them.
There are independently owned and operated Gino's restaurants left today. They still serve chicken and burgers. I know of at least two in Maryland - one in Towson and one in Glen Burnie.
I only know of Bob's Big Boy.
Steak n Ale sounds cool.
Google Chi-Chis. There's still 65 of them in the US. Yes... including NJ (although not Woodbridge).
They also sell Supermarket Salsa. You've probably seen that logo in virtually evey Supermarket you were in while living in America.
Chi-chi’s did a good job rebranding into packaged grocery items like seasonings and salsas etc.
I was born in the early 80s and have been to Showbiz Pizza.
Howard Johnson's was a New England-based chain that was great. There was one two blocks from my home. You could go in and get hand-packed pints and quarts of HJ's 28 flavors of ice cream. Their fried clam rolls were a specialty.
There is still a Howard's Johnson's ice cream parlor in Columbus Ohio. 🍨🍧
There’s a Bob’s Big Boy near me in Northridge. There also used to be a Kenny Rogers near me.
We have 2/5 remaining Big Boys here in Cleveland. I knew i had picked up a Doordash order there years ago so i just had to look it up
Let's go. This channel is great.
You can still buy chi-chis dipping sauces in grocery stores
We had a Burger Chef when I was a kid in the late '70s (born 1970). It was located very near the end of a runway for our airport. I was obsessed with airplanes and constantly pestered my father to take me there. I had to sit at a certain table with the best window view of the planes. Even better, they were the first to serve a kid's meal with a toy. When McDonalds introduced the Happy Meal, Burger Chef sued and lost. We also had a Howard Johnson's, or "HoJos" (pronounced "HoeJoes") for short. It was in my neighborhood, so as older kids we were allowed to ride our bikes there to get ice cream.
We had one in my town near the shopping centers. The burger chef and Jeff funmeal was what I got as a kid. Kinda a Happy meal with games or a toy.
There's an episode of Beard Meats Food where he eats at Wimpy. He ate there for nostalgic reasons. They are still in the UK. He found out they were actually an American chain though. 😂
Named after Popeyes friend I'm sure.
Too many that I remember that are not here anymore, remember Big Boy, Howard Johnson's, my sister enjoyed Arthur Treachery's, I remember Happy Joe's
There's a new Big Boy not too far from me they're still around.
I had seen a CZcams video reaction to the last Arthur Treachery's not too long ago.
It's located in Sandusky Ohio.
I remember eating at Burger Chef and Clancy’s. I grew up in a small town in Ohio. I can’t remember when Burger Chef closed but Clancy’s closed in the early 90s. There still is a Clancy’s in a town called Sydney, Ohio.
oh man I remember roy rogers. Solid breakfast food - better than IHOP or denny's that's for sure.
Gaynor, there was a steak and ale in Middletown on 35. and there was a ChiChi's somewhere in that woodbridge area.
I thought there was 👍🏻
There was a Chi Chi's in Pleasantville, NJ that was open until the very end of the franchise.
I miss the chain restaurant Bennigan’s. When i was in college there was one near my apartment. My college roommate and i would hit it up for late night happy hour often.
We had Wimpy's in the Chicago area and Perkins is still great.
aw man i miss Kenny Rogers Roasters, there was one right near my house, close than KFC and it was 1000x better
I remember Hojo's from my HS days as it was the only restaurant that still served food late (10 PM I believe). Food was so-so. I used to periodically go to the Times Square Chi-Chis in the 90's where I was introduced to Fajitas. Couple of other places I remember was White Castle which I think is only around in frozen sliders at the Supermarket, and Friendly's Ice Cream which unlike Carvel was a sit down restaurant known for their ice cream. There was also Tad's Steak House in Times Square as well which had $2.99 steak dinners. That meat was really tough and hard to eat.
White Castle is still a thing. We have 5 of them in and around Columbus Ohio.
Love Bob's Big Boy. Sad to see they are no longer around. Farrells was amazing. Steak and Ale was great the waitresses were let's say Hooters would be jealous.
I use to work at Chi Chi"s hated it.
When I was in the UK in 1982, we ate at The Little Chef and Wimpy's.
Wonder if they are still around.
Perkins still exists, and it's still very popular, although I much prefer "mom and pop" places for breakfast. Except for Cracker Barrel. You get a good breakfast there. :)
My first job was waiting tables when I was 16 years old at Bob's Big Boy in Long Beach, California. 1987. How that place was ever allowed to close escapes me. If Aiden's reading this, it was like imagining McDonald's closing nowadays. Unheard of! 24 hour diner with amazing cheap food--so many kids used to go there after high school football games, etc. Damn I miss that place. Their Big Boy hamburger was the inspiration for the Big Mac. And it was so much better than what McDonald's has, which is just a poor quality knock-off.
also stayed in q number of HoJo's motels....because you always knew there was a restaurant attached.....loved their mocha chip ice cream (Coffee ice cream with chocolate chips)....YUMMMMM
I miss Chi Chi's! That fried ice cream was great
Nostalgia fir crappy food is funny. That being said, chi chi,'s fried icre was awesome.
Chi-Chi's was definitely NOT a fast food restaurant. It was a normal sit down table service restaurant. I went there many times. They had unlimited chips and salsa for everyone and delicious margaritas!!!
When I young in New York Carrol's was considered far superior to McDonalds for flavor and quality. As he said Carrols survived and now makes about 1.5 billion a year with Burger King locations.
I grew up as a kid in the 60's going to Royal Castle and the narrator made one big mistake....RC didn't serve "root beer" but BIRCH beer and those delicious little sliders. Even as a kid I could eat 5 of them and a french fry basket and drink a Birch Beer (In a frosty mug) all for exactly $1.00 plus tax
OMG these bring back so many memories.. YES Showbiz is like Chucky Cheese.. hated that place for my kids tho..lol.. only took them twice, that was enough.. BIG BOY,, now Frisches BIG BOY.. Roasters was not very good to me anyway.. Chichis fried ice cream was so good.
Big boy is about 10 minutes from us in ohio. I didn't realize it was only 1 out of 5 left.
Frisch's Restaurants, Inc., doing business as Frisch's Big Boy, is a regional Big Boy restaurant chain with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. For many years a Big Boy franchisee, in 2001, Frisch's became the exclusive owner of the Big Boy trademark in Indiana, Kentucky, and most of Ohio and Tennessee, and is no longer affiliated with Big Boy Restaurant Group. As of April 2024, the company operates 85 locations in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Most Winky's were in and around Pittsburgh PA.
One of the best that they didn't mention was Lum's.
Whoa, I remember Farrell's in Portland! But known for their birthday sundae? What? I was pretty sure their claim to fame was the monster bowl of ice cream, like 25 scoops or some such nonsense.
Edit: Also, Farrell's wasn't a chain, was it?
Bob's big boy is by my house, the food is a lot better than Mcdonalds. I didn't even know it used to be a national chain lol.
Currently in 5 states. MI, OH, CA, NV, and ND. Had one in my hometown growing up. Flying saucer style sandwiches ! Burned my mouth every time 😂
@@cherylflam3250 the one near my housw is in Calumet, IL I'm about 45mins away from there.
I believe that’s Panos Big Boy, not Bobs.
@@cherylflam3250 I stand corrected
@@PhillipV-qm4mf They might be the same. When Bob's Big Boy dissolved, a lot of the individual franchises remained open and were allowed more lee-way (including the name of the Big Boy). We had one right outside Death Valley California right on the same property as the World's Tallest Thermometer. I believe it finally closed a few years ago, but it was actually called "Bun Boy", but the character was still the same (same big boy statue outside and everything). I think there were other one's called Shoney's Big Boy in other parts of the country, again with the same Big Boy statue.
Not all these were fast food restaurants, even though the narrator called them that. Howard Johnson, Steak and Ale, Chi Chis weren't fast food
Perkins restaurants are still around there is one near me still good food.
I used to love Sambo's
I remember the episode of the Profit where Marcus Lemonis purchased Farrell's. The family that owned it were so bad at running the place. Not surprised its out of business now.
Too many Wendy's😂
Chi-Chi's sells salsa still in grocery stores .. I stick to Tostitos
No mention of Pioneer Chicken or Naugles?
Burger Chef an Indianapolis Original
He forgot Panchos
ketchup doesnt belong on a hot dog
Check out Rancho Santa Fe California homes for sale
👍👍
Do a video on the Burger Chef murders. It’s an unsolved case of a mass murder in the 1970s at a now defunct Burger Chef fast food restaurant.
