    This video is really so I can cut and paste a link to email questions. If you are not in the Blaser gun scene, just skip this video. You'll be bored to tears.

      Not bored to tears. Sounds like good information to me. Even though I don't have a Blaser. All information from real users is a good idea to keep learning.
      Wait did I just comment without giving you a hard time? I must be slipping 😎 Keep up the good work.

    Practical video and very good conclusion about cleaning bolthead! Can you please tell me, which is the bipod model on yours rifle? Thanks!

    • @John1911
      @John1911  Před 3 lety +1

      This video is somewhat out of date as the rifle configuration has changed since it was published. The bipod shown here is called a NEOPOD. It's made of a super lightweight, and expensive, polymer. More suited for mountain sheep hunting than regular precision rifle work.
      Glad you liked the video. These days the R8 resides in a GRS Ragnarok chassis.

    Congrats with new Blaser! Personally I also prefer keep it dry, finish is so good no reason for additional lube

    Hey I have a question would a dry graphite style work on the rails? Not sticky dry and wont freeze

    • @John1911
      @John1911  Před rokem +1

      I don’t see why not. But it still would’t work better than just leaving them bone dry with factory coatings.
      Blaser factory nitride is very slick.

      @@John1911 duh ... I am in USA too. I want to get more information on r8. Can you tell me which one is better between ultimate and success?

    • @John1911
      @John1911  Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve played with an ultimate at a show a while back. It seem to recall it had A LOT more factory adjustment with some pre-set options.
      Also...the Ultimate uses a two pieces stock set that you find on the fancier wood options.
      The success uses a simpler one piece stock. I.e. The ultimate you can see the black receiver with gold R8.
      Both systems use the same magazine format. My Professional seen here uses a different, earlier magazine format.
      Functionally they are all the same. But the two you suggest are locking you into a thumb-hole stock I believe.
      Finally...forgive my location statement. 90% of the traffic we receive on Blaser videos is out of Europe or Australia. It’s the #1 selling bolt gun in multiple European countries.
      Recap: if money no object, and you like slick adjustability, with a thumb-hole stock, take hard look at the ultimate. You’ll be happy.
      Regards,
      Marky
