- This Christmas surprise was years in the making. Joel’s a professional musician and his favorite guitar was stolen out of his car while he was loading out of a gig years ago.
He’s been unemployed since March 2020 due to the pandemic. His spirits have been so low this year not being able to play. A close friend found the same guitar a few months before Christmas, and I thought this would be the perfect gift to lift his spirits.
I pulled money from masks I’ve been making and got some help from quite a few family/friends. We banned together to pull the funds to replace it, and this is Joel getting it. And he was speechless.
This was a labor of love. Playing guitar is not only his favorite thing, but also our only income. I have a chronic illness and haven’t worked a real job in 4 years, So his music pays our bills. Now he’ll have his new guitar to start playing gigs again (hopefully in 2021). ♥️♥️♥️

Wow well thank God you were able to reward a beautiful instrument like you did I have a epiphone les Paul my latest guitar I bought is a gretsch streamliner left handed from Amazon before that one was a LYX telecaster I have eight guitars all made left handed

Love this. Brings back memories of a few years ago for me. My wife and I hit hard times because I just before Christmas lost my job. I never anticipated after many years of playing knock around guitars I would ever hold in my hands a Dave Matthew's signature Taylor guitar. 50 years.

Very nice guitar I watched his video were he is playing excellent I just bought a gretsch streamliner left handed guitar I'm a lefty I love it plays awsum I'm a local singer and guitar player over 48 years I do all kinds of music oldies rock n roll old standards from the 40s blues country everything my last gig was at a country club lounge over eight years in south Florida alot of gigs in Florida and back home in New York and long island NY

Don't mention it... i'm a musician as well (on the side) not a very good one lol and I'm anal about keeping my car doors locks between trips carrying gear in or out of the clubs. A good friend of mine had his vinatge base stolen out of his car and although insurance paid for a new one, it's not his old base... it happens alot! All the best to you and your husband. Great video. So many things to love.... Awesome family, how sweet parents are to their son, how beautiful their son is, how she was so happy to share this gift with him, how he let his child help unwrap the gift, how she didn't take full credit for giving the gift, how she gave credit to his friends and family for helping financially, how she gave credit to his friend for finding it and asking to make it happen, how he thanked her, how loving they are towards each other, how she made sure their son sat front row and center to hear Dad play. Hi to your family! Guitar is my favorite instrument! I had two ladies play guitars on the alter at our wedding back in 1992. I don't know how to play an instrument. However, I'm a dance instructor and if you count my tap shoes as an instrument... maybe I can play one. Ha! Continue to LOVE ONE ANOTHER and plant seeds of encouragement as you share life together. You're so right! Fortunately our friend was with him when he got the one that was stolen, so he knew what model to get. It all worked itself out and was meant to happen at a time where Joel was really struggling not playing music for 1/2 the year.

Epiphone is great guitar I know I have a Epiphone Les Paul I have it going on 10 years now and it still plays like new

Crystal, I had a guitar stolen once and I was devastated. It felt like loosing a leg when you only got one to stand on. So I can identify with Joel's feelings. It was a Ovation Thunderbolt (1 of a thousand only made) electric acoustic thin body. I had moved from that state and went back a couple years later to visit friends. While I was there another friend stopped by with my guitar and case just the way I had left it! I was like, how did you get my guitar and she said, I overheard someone talking at a bar one night talking about your guitar and where it was. So she left and went to the persons house and stole it back!!! Needless to say I was ever so greatful and celebrated!!! Still have it till this day. What kind of guitar was that y'all got Joel? To let you know about that video you did, I could barley hear y'all talking?
JB... WOW!!!!!!!! What an incredible friend you have that stole it back!!! Joel was playing in the city and we assume it was someone walking by and saw Joel’s car full of gear unattended. (He was loading out so he was back and forth to and from the car.) Unfortunately, we just never found it. I’m not sure what the guitar was. I’m not the guitar guru. 😂🤦🏼♀️

@@crystallove23 very crowded I like New York better but it's to expensive and my daughters and grandkids are here in Florida my to of course otherwise I would probably go to Arizona I like it there we lived in hawaii for three years we had moved way back when we moved to California in the early seventies from there we had a special airline price to God hawaii that's were one of my daughters was born I have on my mother's side hawaiian blood my grandmother was a princess there she passed away at twenty eight real young from cancer on my father's side full blooded italian were my mother met my father in New York that's were me my two brothers had sister was born
