If you’ve ever seen rings specialist gymnasts, you can notice that they don’t suffer from lack of strength or muscle.
Their physique tells you all, you need to be strong on the rings...
In this video, we’re gonna do a challenge, that everyone can achieve and by completing it, you can make the first step to super human strength that you see from gymnasts!
Athletes shown in the video: Yuri Van Gelder, Brandon Wynn

Nice tutorial. I’ve been playing with the rings for about 12 months now. I can do a 60 second hold with relative ease, however still working on my false grip for the muscle up. At 65, one’s never too old to get stronger.👍
Yess, great! Congrats!
You came in to my life as a saviour...... I have been doing calisthenics since 2 years ... But can't achieve my first muscle up... This year I found your channel and things change rapidly... Although still I can't do muscle up but I achieved my chest to bar pull up ...And I believe I can achieve muscle up as well. Thankyou Very very much for these videos ..Love from india❤️🇮🇳
I’m glad they help! Be patient, you got great results, keep going!
Chris Heria has nice tutorial about muscle up. I did it in 5 minutes after his video.
@@blackjohnny0 chris is also a bit of a money grab type of person
@@boringsoaring7845 Yea, but it was free tutorial. It is on youtube.
@@blackjohnny0 that doesn't make him a good person.
He also spreads a decent bit of misinformation
Can you do more rings videos?
Preferably intermediate/advance not super easy like ring support (I can do easily 45’sek- hard 60’sek)
We are still waiting for the fledge! (Back
Roll)
Definitely, just a matter of time!
This channel should have millions subscribers. One of the best channels on youtube..Thank you for sharing
I've binge watched all your videos in the short span of time I've known this channel for, it's definitely a gem! Could you please do a video on a whole body mobility routine for calisthenics/gymnastics?
Awesome video! Thank you! I can't wait to try this challenge!
You are an excellent coach and teacher. This really helps me a lot. I just ordered a pair of rings to use in the gym. I was wondering where I could find good instruction, and serendipitously, here you are! Much gratitude from S. California.
Ive been following this channel for +1 year and I like the presenter is serious and very technical/professional in his explanations so I love when I see him doing funny things in them 1:50
I love your content, i recently discovered your chanel and you give very helpful advice!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it!
Thank you so much! Can you do a progression of the RTO hols on rings?
Loved this video! I'm a rings enthusiast😁I can do the 30s hold with RTO 3 times.
Been training with rings for nearly a year & the strength gains r insane. More rings videos brother Adam🤙
Aroha (love) from Aotearoa (New Zealand)
Nice!!! Gymnastics ring is the best equipment IMO. Will be more videos for sure! :)
Thanks for the challenge. I bought rings after watching your channel, and have them for a month now.. I could do this challenge, the third 30s was not easy though ). I hold the rings parallel, but to rotate them outward is difficult now, maybe it will get better with practice. Looking forward to other useful exercises for rings!
Thanks! Will do!
I train with rings all the time. I do a lot of push ups, face pulls, reverse flyes.
I couldn't gym the last week and i haven't done ring dips for a while. I started doing RTO support and i felt an unreal stretch in my biceps. I have slight muscle imbalances and I realised that I felt my left was doing a lot better than my right side. My right had a slight bend in my elbow and I realised as soon as I RTO, the bicep stretch was insaneeee
My doms and pecs are on fire right now still
Let’s go!
Really nice video! Can I ask you where did u buy that bar? I'm searching one for me and that seems really good!
Your videos are gold!
Thnx 😊 im 43 and for the fisrt time i got the strict rings muscle up. It is Still so Hard but i found your tips so motivational n usefull.
Great tutorial. For an extra challenge, I m doing these in the L-sit position.
Perfect!!
Amazing content here! I very very like that! I tested myself. 2x 30 seconds hold. The second one was very tough but I felt all parts of the muscles ! Amazing!
Nice job! That’s solid!
Amazing, I don't know if you saw my comment but I was asking for a video featuring rings, thank you either way! Will you ever maybe make a video like top 5 chest exercises, top 5 bicep exercises etc?
I have many ideas, just give me the time to make all happen :D So Yes I think I’ll have videos about those, just a matter of time!
Very good ❤❤❤
I can do both types of supporthold rto. The Push Up for 45 the other one for 30 Seconds. But I am still looking for a training plan to build up more power and develop Calestenic Skills. Perhaps I will try your offer.
Nice, that’s a decent level! I’m happy to help anytime!
I tryed the support hold with rings turned out just a few days ago. Did 50 seconds. Video my self and pop it on instergram. I'm age 51 and I enjoy training with Calisthenics can't do the skills. But it's fun to try.
Excellent info keep the videos coming been watching your video and helps me with my training.
🙏🙏
I should do that progression for false grip hangs.
👍
Me encantaaa🎉
Hi Do you plan a tutorial on the planche with progression levels?
Absolutely!
How many times a week should I try the support hold training?
Can we get a iron cross progression tutorial please
Would I be able to do this with the TRX?
I held it for 16 deep breath’s about 30 seconds . It felt good tougher than I thought .
Nice!
Should shoulder blades be back and down, or is there some protraction? Back and down in a full upright posture makes it *way* harder for me. It looks like you have a little bit of protraction. How do you determine the proper scap position?
The reason I ask is because I just came from this video (5 second clip at the linked timestamp): czcams.com/video/cKKeCMhvOw8/video.html
not enough comments on correct form of pushups
you remind me of Sabo from SaturnoMovement :D
Is plastic ring works good ?
Hey man, where did you get the T shirt from?
It’s my own, will be available soon!
Maybe some iron cross video? I'm not sure if you are able to do this exercise (I believe you do :) ), but maybe some tips, progressions could get a nice audience
I am male btw, don't mind my YT name, I do this before my chest and back workout, it does give tremendous pump on my chest and biceps.
It is fun to observe otherwise strong dudes sometimes failing the ring hold, let alone dips. It's all in the wiring.
I already got this..now tell me brother. If I become a member will you teach me how to front lever, 90 degree hspu, planche? 5 years of calisthenics experience, tuck straddle fl and tuck planche only. I'm kind of heavy though. Will you get me shredded too? 🙃
Man, I’ll do my best to help to reach your goals. That’s what I’m striving for with everyone who trust me and ask for my help. That’s one side, and you commitment is the other 💪
@@GymnasticsMethod OK, since I know my commitment is gonna be 100% I will trust you. Next week I am joining the family, cu there!
@@tony_sw7109 great! We just had a great live discussion today. Join in next time!
Do straight bar dips and ring dips engage upper chest?
Both are great, I recommend to use both!
@@GymnasticsMethod thanks bro i was struggling to find out if the upper chest is being worked enough when doing those
@@peterperrakis7801 dips will always target the lower pecs more, no matter which variation you do, but for the upper chest you can do pike push ups, decline push ups or you can do some isolation with bands
@@peterperrakis7801 both definitely more on lower chest, but it doesn’t mean that the upper is inactive. Incline push-ups, rings push-ups are focusing more on that!
@@GymnasticsMethod Im sorry if im being irritating but i want to ask one last thing. Do the rings engage more muscles when doing an excercise on them istead of doing the excercise on a steady bar?(for example is the upper chest activated more in ring dips than in regular dips?)
How you get tanned?
I can do it, hold 46 sec as shaking a lot of both arms at the last 10s
Bro have you ever donate blood.?? I want to know does it affect my fitness goals
after you donate blood you will have less blood ofc lmao. So less oxygen will be carried around your body making your workouts more tiering and more difficult to recover. However your body will recover from it and will start making more red blood cells so a couple weeks later u should be good.
Как купить какие стропы в России?
My elbows hurt when I turn the rings out. Is this normal or am I doing it wrong?
Probably they’re not strong enough for it. Try easier progression, or work on straigh arm elbow strength with elastic band.
How I trained my rings turned out was holding 5 seconds normal top position then 5 seconds rings turned out position.
Over time I extended the times between positions and boom! I got stronger & achieved longer hold times.
@@tredayy312 Yes, it's about 5 seconds in pushup position with RTO before my elbows start hurting outside on the top. Srange thing is I tried with pushup position higher rings and also with with feets elevated, it's still ~5 seconds in all positions. I can hold ~30 seconds support with rings parallel to my body. I read in another forum that it's good to hold support with parallel rings for at least 60 seconds before attempting RTO support. So I will just train harder before trying RTO for more than a few seconds.
@@user-fp7qg8hm1k At least you're aware of your body & what it's telling u. Good work bro. Keep it up.
I can do it I tried today
Is this and rings in general more of a younger man’s game? I’m turning 46 thanks
With preparation and gradation it’s all good. But man, you’re still young! I have members at 60
Ring is all about core. The strength from parallel bar can't transfer to ring without right core activation, lucky for me that I got the feel on day 1 years ago.
My trick is using hollow body on parallel bar. 😅
Yeah, it’s a prerequisite, and then you need to build up the strength here. Prehab is king, I always say, once you have a decent core strength from prehab, you’re good to go!
Challenge accepted 8)
💯💪
@@GymnasticsMethod Hey I did it :P In the same session I also did a ring muscle-up from straight hands for the first time.
I do this with enough weight vests and plates hanging to bring my bodyweight to 320lbs. I am 50, you young guys will need to practice if you arent strong.
What is the end goal with this challenge? Get to the 30 sec mark?
Or, increasing the intensity after we get the 30 secs, maybe by adding weights?
And always trying to get better and stronger with the support holds?
Having a good support hold on the rings allows you to progress into L sits, planches, and handstands (requires long straps/cables)
The end goal is 30 seconds hold yes! After that, dips/basic holds like L-sit.
I do this everyday I'm sure I can hold over 2mins by now
Nice!
