Hello! Linuxcnc Ethercat By what means can the spindle motor and inverter be used normally?

Well it works ...and how did you configure LinuxCNC? How did you setu the system? What did you install?

Are the I/O modules (ELxxxx) and the coupler (EK1100) necessary? I'ts possible to make a CNC controller by using only the servo and the servo driver connected to the pc?

It is.. but you wouldnt have any IO.. the EK1100 and the ELxx modules gives you the necessary IO for inputs and ouputs.

@@Moronicsmurf what about using the I/O modules in series with the driver without using the coupler?

@@goldrake821 u need the base coupler to make the io devices visible. Ek1100 is your bare minimum you will need to use the io blocks

it's possible. but as far as i know, linuxcnc with rtai. the system is hard to build igh ethercat driver with rtdm, so I will recomend u to use machinekit instead to use ethercat master for ethercat servo

I have successfully installed linuxcnc+ethercat, and can successfully use the software to enable the servo. When I click Run, the interface is already executing, but I observe that the servo does not move. May I ask what is the problem? Or can you provide me with your hal file reference?

I also am having the problem of it not moving. I can enable the drive and have it hold torque and confirmed the target velocity reg is being written to. Are there special parameters needed to get it to move?
