I'm dissapointed that I saw no spicy wind in this video. And no shotguns. AND no flammenwerfers, ISP, can this even be considered a WW1 video? Literally none of the Geneva conventions were violated, this doesn't feel right!

I see so many youtubers who take total war to serious, but YOU make it more fun to watch, You should have more recognition
For the bridge battle, you should have withdrawn to where the bridge was just within your cone of fire, thereby limiting the French troops' capacity for returning fire. The artillery would still be a pain, but you can at least run up to your side of the river and it'll probably be in range

There's a WW1 mod for Shogun 2: FotS as well that might be fun to check out. Aside from that the most obvious thing to check out would be the Third Age mod for Med 2 (LotR mod). If you get the Divide and Conquer submod it's actually really good.

You didn't even try the Railroad gun. It's the best artillery ever. So worth the build up. Absolutely a benefit to any army you put one in.

Total War needs to make Empire 2, starting in the Victorian Era, and ending with the First World War, with a huge emphasis on the change of warfare
You could try out the "Borgerkrigen 1157" mod for M&B or the 1942 mod for Rome: Total War.

5.17 - Sorry, I hate to be a stickler (who am I kidding, I love being a stickler), but charging with a knife, was essentially the main engagement method, other than firing the musket.. A bajonet is essentially just a very sharp knife, attached to a gun.. So yer, charging with a knife in front was pretty common back then..
Even some crazy heroic, and legendary examples of bajonet charges make it to the 1950's..
- The 65th Regiment of the US (the ALL-Hispanic regiment) charged up a Chinese held hill, they fixed bajonets, and charged the hill, killing 5,905 Chinese, and capturing 2,086..
- Not to mention the 2004(!) bajonet charge of Company Sgt. Maj. David Falconer, where they abandoned their armoured vehicles and charged an actual enemy trench, fighting for 4 hours, killing 30 enemy soldiers before being reinforced by a British tank
"Heroic victory? I just blew up a few thousand Frenchpeople with high explosives!"

last time i played this mod, the tanks just vanished after every battle i played, even when i haven't used them in fight.
The real question is can you trench up? WW1 with no trenches is just Napoleonic warfare with more casualties
