My dad started the only intensive treatment program for sex offenders in Colorado and I've asked him why they do it. He said it's usually one of three reasons... 1: they were assaulted as a child and want to reenact what happened to them to regain "control" and better understand their traumatic past 2: their brains stopped developing when they were young and kids are the only people they can relate to 3: they simply lack the moral compass and are just flat out turned on by kids. No further reasoning necessary
