- On the heels of the final season of ‘Ozark,’ stars Jason Bateman and Julia Garner spoke to ‘Extra’s’ Rachel Lindsay at an FYC event. They dished on that series finale and reacted to the possibility of any future spin-offs. Jason and Julia also revealed what they will miss most about playing their characters, Marty Byrde and Ruth Langmore.

Jason Bateman is slept on. Dude is a really good actor. He is hilarious and can be serious. Julie is amazing...she will have an Oscar soon enough.

Ruth was my favorite character. At first, I thought, "she's a horrible mess". But then her character developed and she drew you in. You began to understand her and cheer for her. That's what makes her great actress.

Yes she was an excellent ripoff of Jesse Pinkman. It's too bad Bateman was so dense he shot his cash cow in the head on his way out. What an awful series that wanted so badly to be Breaking Bad.

After watching Ozark, I love Jason Bateman even more. Also, Julia Garner is now an absolute favorite of mine. She is an incredible actress.
As a fan of "Ozark" I simply clicked on this link not knowing who the interviewer was, but rather I just wanted to watch Jason and Julia dish about how great it was to work on the show, etc. But then a VERY rare occurrence took place: the interviewer was actually VERY, VERY good. Whoa!! Kudos to Rachel Lindsay of Extra. Great questions, and great interaction w/ both Jason and Julia.

What an intelligent pair. They really think about the questions and don't give glib answers.
They could always bring Ruth back. They showed her alive but bleeding on the driveway. They could open it with the sheriff going to Ruth's house and call 911. There's open possibilities to have Ruth back to life

Yes bring back Ruth I say...I think she was the centre of the series in my opinion, she was amazing in this...loved her character, she was complex, deprived, mistreated, a fighter, innocent at the same time, I just wanted to give her a big hug😧

EXACTLY! Of Course Ruth could still live! They showed her lying in the driveway, bleeding...supposedly dead.
But lots of shows bring back characters. Bobby in Dallas...when people had such a fit that he died in the series, Roseanne, when Dan died. This show was SO coukd...and Ruth was the crux of the show...I Hope, Hope, Hope they bring it back as a series...and Ruth back in it. I was WAY WAY involved in the show too! LoL
Best show I ever seen. I was hooked from first five minutes and I binge watched the rest soon as I could. I WANT MORE, PLEASE GIVE ME MORE !!!

Do a spinoff. Ruth doesn't have to die. Everyone comes back from the dead, or near dead, when the story is so good that everyone wants it to continue.
The Roseanne Scenario which led to the reboot? Of course, she ended up dying in the reboot. Hopefully that doesnt happen to ol Ruth lol.
But really, Id hate that scenario for a serious drama lol. Works for a sitcom, though.

Ruth was wearing a bullet proof vest... Then we have a flashback scene to Ruth leaving the MB and we see Marty getting a message down the chain to Ruth without Camila and co seeing! The FBI shoot Camila and all is well.....for now....😂
A spin off would have to start with Three. I imagine he’s Ruth’s benefactor. The show was sooooo good. Congrats to the cast and crew!

I just binge watched all 4 seasons in the last few weeks. I loved this series! I was team Ruth from early on and cannot imagine anyone else acting this part. I have always been a Jason Bateman fan and loved his characters calmness and ingenuity. I literally cried at the ending but you went out in total Ruth Langmore character. Or did you? 💗

I binge watched in between personal projects around my home and honestly can not think of any show or group of pro actors that I will miss more. Not a thing to criticize....the Ozark Team of Talent is unmatched...such sensitivity and realism...I can't compliment them enough...Bravo!!! Bravo!!! And I sincerely hope that they can come together again soon....with a continuation of the Ozark Drama or something new and different!!! Please don't stay out of the limelight too long!! What an excellent interview. This lady extracted such sincere responses from both Jason and that incredibly beautiful Julia. Spoiler alert: I just didn’t like that very last scene. I loved her so much especially at the beginning of the series when she’s presented as the smart girl of “that” thieving family. Boy did she play that role so excellently, and with that Missoura drawl to top it off.
Bateman has a great ability to get a feeling across without saying anything. His character shows little emotion verbally, but with a subtle look Bateman gets the idea across. And that is a gift
They can always have Marty run the cartel and Ruth run the Ozarks.. that can be a thing of beauty

She is going to play Madonna and maybe go to the Oscars for that role. But the caveat to this movie is that Madonna herself is directing it lol

A LIGHT OF HOPE. I CAN'T BELIEVE I HEAR IT COME OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS. I was so sad really that the show is over, it's the first show that I fell completely in love in my entire life. The fact that there is a chance of something new from Ozark brought excitement to my body 😁😁😁

Love the series and the way the actresses made her Ruth character iconic but the writing and ensemble were wonderful.
Such a great cast, great stories, I'm really surprised they canceled the series.
Had to leave us wanting more I think and they did that well
Julia was stellar performance!!! Everyone was so interesting but Ruthie was absolutely amazing. Such a great show.
A great, great show. I don't usually watch these types of continuing shows, but I just couldn't stop. At the end, I had a nightmare that woke me in the night, crying. Can't say what it was because it would give away the ending.

Just finished watching..at first i found it quite depressing but sliowly as it unfolds..i was thinking it was such a great story and probably could be hapoening for real or based on a true-to-life story and whats hapoening ..is real ...and that our world id made of therse yes frightening but inevitable stories
One of those rare shows that make you feel so uneasy and always questioning everyone's motive. When shit the fan in season 1, it HIT THE FAN and stayed there until the last second. Never a dull moment and never a bunch of filler bullshit.

I stumbled across the series by accident. I wasn't to thrilled with the description so was going to give it a one episode test view. Then I bing-watched it for two days. Did the same thing with the Queens Gambit.
I'm a fan of both. Waiting for the next movie of Julia and Jason.

I was quite disappointed in the final season, but the cast was great. Julia Garner will have a great career.
Facts. I feel Jason didn't want to be dangerous. In the end his character should find full evel killed his wife taken the empire and rose turning into young king pin and Marty sin chose to stay with her laundry money while his daughter attended university study business.
