I have a CB300R 6-speed that I added a gear indicator to, and love having that. Now that I have bought the Trail 125 I added one to it also and feel like it's the best change I have made to date. I know it's only 4 gears to keep track of, but going between the 2 bikes with the different gear setups (neutral at bottom on 125 vs. 1st gear on bottom on the 300) it just makes it easier to keep track of them. Also, when I stop it's nice to verify what gear I'm in - when I'm ready to go I can verify that I'm in first (via the gear indicator), versus 2nd gear (via gear indicator), versus neutral (via bike green light). I've ended up in neutral or 2nd enough before I added the gear indicator that I really appreciate that change.
For the same reason (2 different bikes + a centrifugal clutch scooter) it would be nice to keep the two bikes similar with manual shift control. I also like the idea of easier shifting between gears, and not having to RPM match so exactly on the downshifts (with a less than optimal outcome at times). Therefore I'm thinking I'll go this route too, so thanks for the vids on your conversion!

Nice job on the video! I didn't know these existed. I might have considered this when I had first purchased mine, But now I've "become one" with mine after many miles and don't reach for that lever anymore. Nice Lineup you got! Stay safe!! P.S. I don't get many Harleys to wave back at me either, You know when they are coming towards you and you see a patch covered leather vest or monkey bars and armpit hair, that they are not going to wave. All I know is that I'm smiling ear to ear, and you never see any grin on them, Who's having more fun?

I see you got the left Barkbusters mounted. Now think about mounting the right one the same way, between the brake master cylinder and the mirror. That is how the show bikes at the trade shows have them mounted. It will give you better hand protection that way and make the whole job more symmetrical.

So it's a clutch on a clutch. And it works. Nice bike bro.

Exactly. Its both a clutchless start and a required clutch to shift. Not for everyone but I really like it.

So can you effectively feather the clutch for slow offroad technical climbs etc?

If you keep the revs up yes. The revs have to be high to keep the centrifugal clutch engaged, if the revs are high the manual clutch is what controls power to the wheel.
