    So I danced for about 15 years of my life, am overly flexible in the hips, and recently before my symptoms began (mainly groin pain) I had increased my running load from running 5ks to training for a half marathon. I ended up having surgery to repair athletic pubalgia but the symptoms didn't go away. I was referred to a new doctor today who says the x-rays show that I have dip dysplasia. He's also sending me for an MRI with contrast and a cat scan. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the informational video!

    I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia 7 years ago at age 34, both hips, but left was worse. I had a PAO in 2017 and that has worked well for me. hoping to hold off on the right side for hip replacement someday.

    "A lot of the time these [dysplasia patients] will hold end-range positions a lot of the time. They'll often rest with their foot up on the table and lean into [the range of motion]..."

    All those years of stretching in child's pose to loosen my tight, painful hips was actually tearing my labrums and causing me permanent pain :( Stretching can cause more harm than good if you don't know what is actually going on.

    I have hip dysplasia and have the worst range of motion and flexibility ever. Everything hurts often.

    Could you share some appropriate exercises for hip dysplasia with us please. I've just obtained my medical records and scan results which identified hip dysplasia..... meanwhile steroid injections were being recommended for bursitis that wasn't seen on imaging but diagnosed because it hurt when palpated.

    My hips "go out" when the muscle is tired..but today, they go out constantly. I had always be flexible. My mother was insanely flexible in the hips..perhaps inherited? I am very cautious of my movement these days. I am now 62. If anyone can steer me to treatment or things I can do to help myself...it would be greatly appreciated.

      Almost sounds like a symptom of ehlers danlos syndrome or hypermobility syndrome if the flexibility extends to the whole body too

    I developed hip dysplasia at 21. It doesn’t hurt, but it is irritating. I can’t kick the ball with my left leg anymore.

    Can you get hips dysplasia after hip arthroscopic surgery?

    • @michelledelecki6224
      @michelledelecki6224 Před 9 měsíci

      no. you don't catch dysplasia. you either have it or you don't. many ortho surgeons will do keyhole surgery to fix the labrum but it's a temporary fix and generally will tear again. happened to me. I've since had PAO surgery to reshape the joint and it has worked well for me. it's a difficult surgery but was worth it to get my life back.

      Hey man, don’t hurt yourself. I got diagnosed Im 18 and it’s been a struggle to walk. The doctors lead me down the wrong path and gave me two surgeries for an unrelated issue which permanently worsened my condition. I’m in pain as I write this! We must persevere. Hopefully my hip replacement won’t be too soon, the results aren’t certain due to my prior surgeries

      my flat feet also do not help with my hips
      but i have not had pain since the summer

      I'm so sorry you're going thru this. I went thru years of pain before finally figuring out I had hip dysplasia. I eventually had a PAO on the left hip and its given me my life back!

      @@eivomtv1846same. I had a labral tear, and was told fixing that would fix my pain. it was a temporary fix and tore again within 2 months. I finally found out I had hip dysplasia and had a PAO on my left hip, the one causing more pain. That was 6 years ago and I got my life back!
