"I ended up following two runners who were going for a coffee"😂😂😂 Sorry to laugh, I'm sure it wasn't funny in the moment, but 😂that cracked me up!! AND we saw your medal this time too, yay!! Thanks for this Phil, those of us just getting into ultras have a lot to learn and you never know what little tidbit might really make a difference for some of us, like forcing ourselves to eat breakfast for example, NOT to mention the motivation and inspiration is invaluable!! Nice on the hand pan too!!🎶
The medal at the end was just for your Bev 😊Im not really that experienced myself either with Ultras but these multi-day mini adventures have been great this year. The breakfast thing... yeah..I need to treat it like laying your kit out the night before, get it ready and eat it at that set time. Thanks for all your support you have given me recently and getting me to do this recap video. I hope its helpful.
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your Druids Challenge experience, Phil. It's awesome that you tackled such a demanding event. Your insights about gear, nutrition, and the inclusive nature of the race are super helpful. Wishing you a speedy recovery from that knee injury! 🏃♂
Thank you my man.
Really good idea to do a recap video, and this one was a great watch 😊 Good work on the hand pan too!
Thanks TJ 🙂 Any wild adventures that you are taking part in next year that i should keep my eye out for on here?
Lovely stuff mate. The ending was just beautiful 🙂👏
Ah cheers Mark. I want to slowly intergrate my handpan music into my videos next year and these overview sections seem to work well with it :)
Good video mate 👍 key info for anyone taking part in the future - especially regarding what happens in the evening for sleeping arrangements etc.
I love the end with the hand drum over the footage 👌👍 well done on all accounts 🙌
Thank you my man. I went to a handpan beginners course last weekend in Bristol and really enjoyed playing along with others. I've never done anything like that before and I really want to do more of it. Hope you and the family are all keeping well mate.
Really insightful reflections Phil and great to hear more about the event, definitely want to try a multi day at some point listening to this. Sounds like such a different challenge.
You should! The two I have done this year I have thoroughly enjoyed and has given me the confidence to take on more multi-day challenges next year :) thanks for watching and supporting Ben.
Great race recap Phil! Thanks for breaking down the whole experience with us mate. Huge kudos once again for completing it mate! 👏😎🤘
Cheers Ben. Hope your fit and well. Any big plans being made for next year yet?
@@trailrunningphil I am alright cheers bud. Yeah I have a few races in the pipeline for 2024. It will be tough to beat but hopefully 2024 will be bigger than 2023. 🤞
Anything outside the comfort zone?@@BenNotley
@@trailrunningphil everything's outside my comfort zone mate 🤣 just have to get on with it 🤣👍
Looks like an excellent event. Glad you had fun doing it.
It was! Hope your keeping well mate. Any big plans for next year yet?
@@trailrunningphil I'm keeping well but I still need medical treatment and have been advised not to run. Will probably have to cancel the Brighton marathon since I probably won't be able to get much training in.
Running will come back to you one day mate. Keep doing those small things to get back there@@TadeuszCantwell
@@trailrunningphil Yup, walking 10k steps a day. Walking backwards for 5 mins a day and working on some muscle imbalances I've probably had for years.
Ah that sounds very wise. Rehab is phase 1 training! @@TadeuszCantwell
Lots of great insight ✅
Thanks for having a look. Are you keeping fit and well?
@@trailrunningphil Got a cold at the moment and busy at work but that makes me excited for January when I can push on
Back out there? Not sure how I missed this comment 😕
@@trailrunningphil Still got the cough so I’ve decided on walks just for the time being with occasional 5Ks. I think lots of people have had this cough that won’t go away Phil
@@irunoffroad yep, I've got a cough and a blocked nose but im still crazy enough to go out!!!!
Sounds like you learnt a lot Phil, food is a must but it's tricky when you just can't stomach it in the moment. Sleeping in a hall full of other runners generally equals not a lot of sleep, I've not mastered that either 💤
It was a great experience and its really motivated me to take on more multi day events Martin. That includes up in Scotland at some stage! :)
