- It was about time for a bigger, longer, more in-depth video. I chose one of the most famous ships from the Star Wars universe for this debut of longer videos; the intimidating Imperial Star Destroyer.

The way you can tell an Imperial I class Star Destroyer from an Imperial II class is the tower. Imperial I classes have an X shape while Imperial II classes have just a “bar” running on the top.
Ackshually, it's the same structure, it's just rotated 90° on the lateral axis.
Also the turrets. ISD I's have twin turrets. ISD II's octuple barbettes.
That is the most obvious indicator but several Imperial 1 class destroyers were retrofitted with the imperial 2 style sensor array
I am going to learn this whole narration by heart, so I can passionately deliver it the next time anyone calls the Star Destroyer design "boring" or "just a triangle".

Fantastic work, and I really enjoyed that it was longer! The details are phenomenal, this was the first time I’ve ever seen a decent depiction of the ISD 1 main batteries up close in detail in a video before, since so many others either depict the 2’s octuple setup or avoid closer views of that particular detail, so between that and the windows giving it scale, you really knocked this one out of the park for the Empire 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Well done, this is quality content, and love the longer vids. If you're looking for stats / lore, wouldn't hurt to look at the WEG source material. They got a lot of under appreciated ships and lore hidden within. Even wookipedia legends is decent. Look forward to more!
Thank you so much for the encouragement, it's vastly appreciated! Actually sometimes I'm kind of torn between staying canon or also adding some legends lore. But to be honest, I might look further into the legends lore for future videos.

@@VanillaAmbience one thing I have noticed is that you have a consistent upload schedule! I don’t know how much content you having coming down the pipeline but I’m excited to see what’s next. If you are looking to grow your channels reach I would cut small sections from your existing videos and turn them into reels. I think that many people would really find your content engaging through reels
Yes, to be quite honest, I see all the positive feedback and try to use every free moment to work on projects. I'm privately working two jobs currently so there's not a massive amount of time, but so far it was enough for smaller videos. The ISD 1 video certainly took some more work but I enjoyed it quite much. So there might be fewer, but longer videos coming.
And I've been thinking about short form as well, I'm just not entirely sure how to do it yet. Most of the videos carry some kind of 'story' and it might be different to see snippets without context. But I'll keep looking into it!

A very good video with EXCELLENT narration. Every word crisp and easy to understand. I do have one question: What is the difference between a turbo-laser and an ion cannon? You did a great job calling out the two ion turrets but I'm afraid that I don't know the difference.
IIRC, turbolasers do straight damage, whereas ion cannons are like EMP bullets, depleting shields & disabling electronics without doing much actual damage. (The ion cannon at Hoth & the ion torpedoes at Scarif demonstrate this well.)

Thank you so much! Yes, I've been thinking about it, even had parts already added to the script. But I wasn't sure, since I'm focusing on the 'outside' and aesthetics of ships, things you can see basically. But if it's something you might be interested in additionally, I can do that!

3:53 what's on the right of three turbolaser turrets? A ventilation fan? It's useless in the space vacuum, in a spaceship air should flow in a closed circuit. But maybe it's used only when ISD flies through a planet's atmosphere, for air exchange.
My friend what you are looking at is the radial engine of a B-17 model kit.
When the effects team was building these ships they scavenged countless model kits to do so. Lol
But let's say for canon sake that are air vents for when operating in atmo. Lol have a good weekend
@@warhawk4494 Thanks. I remember when I saw close-ups of the Executor model, I found many elements of model kits of WW2 battleships and cruisers.
It's a pity that this is the ISD-2 model. The command tower, the engine nozzles and the flight control center, on which three turbolasers are perched, are too painful to the eyes.

A decent watch, I think your voice commentary beats out the video theres quite a few distracting shots that have too much going on. The biggest impact of an ISD is the threat of force and thusly its best portrayed when none of its weapons have to fire and the ship alone inspires the viewer. The game again keeps distracting as random gun firings, random ships being center frame, and jerky fighter motions and green movement lines really detract from the presentation. But on a good note the fade transition to the crosssection was done well but you could make more use of it. I hope the best with you working to develop your content
It is not an "imperial class" star destroyer, tell me, when they say "imperial senate" do, you believe that is the class of the senate? and that maybe there is a fleet of "republic class" senates flying around? or that "imperial" is a rank assigned to stormtroopers? no? then why would you think that "imperial" is a class of star destroyer? use your brain. ship classes are named after the first ship in that class, we don't know what that is in-universe, out of universe we know they were designed by ILM as the "Devastator" and the "Avenger".
They were called imperial class their First Name was the Imperator class Star Destroyer introduced late in the Clone wars Unleashed in the Battle of coruscant later breaking down the outer rim Sieges.

Thank you, and I'm sorry to hear that, I'm leveling the audio with studio headphones on the Pc in Davinci and there's certainly a possibility that on other devices it might sound way different. But the feedback is appreciated, so I know that it can be improved for upcoming videos. May I ask which parts in particular are hard to understand? Just trying to get a grasp of the problem so I can avoid it in future projects
