Much of the delay has to do with the developers (Bare Mettle) building their own engine. It has had several overhauls over the years, and they are perfectionists. See their CZcams channel www.youtube.com/@BareMettle for some recent Dev Diaries, and you will see they still work on deeply perfecting it. I would suggest comparing it to Kenshi (an indy game made predominantly by one guy - Chris Hunt). It had long periods of slow development, and it was using an existing engine (Ogre Engine). Kenshi has now fully released and is a unique masterpiece. I fully expect Exanima to finish when it is finished, and I suspect it could have large content updates coming. I will maybe talk about it in a video one day (as I think many question the slow development), but I would highly recommend both these games (Exanima and Kenshi).
great video, nice to have a guide of sorts to help get started in this cool but daunting game. Excited for part 2!
So cool to do a "crossover" between 2 games, keep going !!!! like from France !!!
Thanks Adarah, glad you enjoyed!
I was tempted to buy this but it's been 9 years in development and they haven't got a release date. That's a red flag for me.
