I guess the shooter/murderer missed the press conference when all the talking heads made their speeches and empty promises. I thought police were the problem and needed to be defunded as part of “reimagining the criminal justice system”. What happened? Well, now you have police departments short staffed and unable to recruit new officers.

Why is the bus flashing 911 emergency call police.. ? Is that a message to bystanders to call police on behalf of the bus and if so why isn't this known?
Yes. I drive for a nearby agency and we have a panic button that shows "Emergency - Call 911", and sends a discreet message to dispatch to call the police and watch the cameras to see what's happening. If you see that message on a bus, there's likely a violent crime happening.

I left MTA after driving for 12 years back in January of 2022. I gradually got to see the city decline and unfortunately this has been something the MTA has been sweeping under the rug for years. Transit issues has grown so exponential that it can no longer be ignored. I typed a 400 page diary during COVID that im working on getting published. I could no longer handle the daily stress that came with that job. Be thankful for the operators that come to work daily to get the city of LA to and from, its a very tough job.
Sad , it is very true the public transportación doesn't feel safe anymore too many insane , mentally ill and drogadicts.
Fear of death would make me a bit uneasy as well. 😱😱😱

LMFAO nice try. Homelessness and crime increased with prop 47 long before cannabis was legal. Covid exacerbated the issue when crime was essentially allowed due to emptying of jails and releasing violent offenders with citations to appear in court vs being placed into custody.

I rode the bus when I was young and too poor to afford a car. Then I bought a new Toyota Tercel stick shift with NO A/C. Drove that for EIGHTEEN years. Yep, 18 L.A. summers.

You need to have 2 parents, finish high school, go to college or gain some skills (10,000 hours of labor, for example, or 1,000,000 miles of truck driving to work for Wal Mart at $80k/yr.), get married, have children, keep the marriage together until the kids get out of the house, etc. Now, things don't always go according to plan, but having no plan will just lead to this endless cycle of crime.
