    You are so resourceful and practical. You are a true country survivalist. Grew up on a farm and know where you are coming from

    Thank you Aaron, good stuff to know. People hesitate to do these things because they just don't know where to start, so I really appreciate that you take the time to break the process down into an easy process.

    That looks pretty wet for chinking if you want it to stay between the logs.
    I've found the best is cookie dough.
    You should be able to make a ball on your hand and it stay in shape.
    Mini concrete mixer is also so much easier, if you are chinking an entire house.

    Hope you didn't block kitties inside the walls. I thought I saw kitty feet run under the bottom one. Great to know recipe for chinking. Good job!

    Aaron I like the idea of leaving the logs exposed. That would be my choice if I was in your shoes.....err...work boots. :]

    Took me some trial and error to mix up my concrete for my red brick planters. And a professional brick layer would probably gag or flinch seeing them.
    Don't know how you do the camera thing. I don't even like talking g in front of people. People are so judgemental and love seeing someone struggle or screw up.

    If you mix all dry ingredients good before adding water it will not knot up.

    what was ratio again? you said 2 parts sand to 1 part portland cement? then you said it backwards?

  • @morgansword
    @morgansword Před 2 lety +2

    Kind of like making gravy... too thick and trying to burn on you so a cup of water won't hurt and it turns to thin soup in a hurry so its dab some cement and sand in to kind of find the sweet spot that you past on the first try/LOL. You just get better and better as time flies by. Or turn off camera and its perfect first try... tell me I'm wrong.... did good Aaron

    You need lime , there is no substitute. Dont be fooled modern synthetic chinking fails all the time.
