Ruyi is a rare person who cherishes others and also shows that no matter any obstacles we face we can endure. She was more for living then gaining. Always respected others above herself. And in the end she gained peace. She is one of the very rare type of person that are few.
I watched this show last year and still today I come back to the clips on CZcams and rewatch some episodes because everything is so beautiful and sad, to live and die inside the palace… what a sad tragedy.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere where personal maids to mistresses would never find work again or something. And it was natural for a maid to die along with their mistress. Rong Pei followed her mistress in life and to death. Her loyalty and love was only to Ruyi. It was fitting for them to pass together. I'm sure Suoxlin or whatever her name is would have done the same but Ruyi sent her out of the palace because she wanted a better life for her.
@yesthatmousyiris4887 I think the same happened to kings in Egypt. If kings died, they would bury their favorite wives along side so they can be reborn or go to the other world together or something like that. It's weird but mankind was strange back in the day.

如懿の臨終の時、紫禁城を留守にしていた皇帝の
紫禁城への帰還を容珮が待ち、如懿の死の様子を
語る役目をしなかった事に最初は驚きました。
しかし、皇帝との不和と信頼の喪失に苦しみ
愛に疲れた如懿は、皇帝の迫害により
皇后位にある人とは思えない程の寂しく質素な
環境で亡くなりました。如懿本人は
この環境に納得していたようですが、
忠義者の容珮は無念で、如懿の寂しい死を
痛わしいと哀しんでいたでしょう。
容珮が皇帝の帰還を待たずに
皇帝に何も語る事なく殉死したのは、
聡明で公正、慈悲深く穏やかな皇后であった如懿
をこのような不遇な環境で死なせてしまった
皇帝への容珮なりの抗議だったのかも
知れないと思います。
