I’m looking at buying a very clean 05’ Impreza 2.5rs I wanna do a motor swap asap for an STI motor do you have any recommendations or where I can see how people have done it?
Hell yeah. I am still thinking hard about putting that Link in mine. Just refreshed the clutch and did the T51R mod on my compressor housing, and I should have everything back in the car this weekend. I think we have similarly sized turbos, and it sounds like you're twin scroll. Im running a single scroll setup with the GTX3584RS (67mm) and a 1.21 hot side (I am at sea level though) and peak boost is right about 38psi for me. My car didn't want to make anymore power than 700whp, something exhaust wise was restricting it. The only reason I can think of is my cams, which are GSC S2s, not the S3s. You're running the G30-1050 right? I think that's a 68mm compressor. What cams?
Yea I’m running the g35-1050 .61 a/r with the ets rotated kit and I have the gsc s2 cams as well. That’s strange how yours wouldn’t make more power. That’s awesome it’ll be running again the t51r mod is my favorite mod to date it sounds insane especially driving next to a wall it echos like crazy! I highly recommend the link, it has the most safety parameters compared to other brands the only bad thing is it took over 2 days for my tuner to fully tune it because of that. But you should pull the trigger then you can wire rolling anti lag and 2 step into it super easy
Ah yeah, G35 I mean, not G30. The exhaust restriction could be in the headers - I am running the Full Race 1.5 scroll headers. i'll check to see if i can find some info on the pipe ID of the different headers . The T51R mod didn't make a difference in anything other than sound right? They say that it doesn't change anything to require updating the tune. @@milehighsti.

Out of curosity, when you're building boost. Why does the air being sucked into the turbo make a chattering noise?
Peak boost is at 5400rpm and that chatter noise is the external wastegate opening and closing to keep me at my target boost levels

Yea the t51r mod just changed the sound by a lot haha, my buddy was following behind me on the highway and he said he still heard it over my exhaust
