Indians could travel Bhutan freely before but after an Indian youtuber climbed on one of their religious structures and posted that video on youtube, the Bhutanese govt became stricter and all these restrictios came into place

I lived six years in jaigaon with my parents. Now I am shifted in Kolkata. Bhutan is wonderful country. Scenarios are mind-blowing. Hilly mountains, fresh flowing rivers and CO2 free country.

Bhutan cash and other products work in India too for border areas, some of my relatives are living in the India-Bhutan border. So I personally not surprise. other people find its surprising.
And another thing was that before lockdown Indian people live in the border, they took advantage of India-Bhutan tax tretty /relief (get Indian products through Bhutan without tax, more than 40% price difference). Now its not so easy.

In hills, speed of vehicles are rarely more than 50Kmph in some stretches of National highways, cause of which use of safety belt is not that relevant compared to plains. also fetal accidents are more likely to happen if your vehicles got slipped down from the edge of the hill, during which you just need to leave your vehicle, jump & get out of it as fast as possible, in which seat belt cause hinderance & can trap you up to hundreds of meters down the hill in a rolling car.

Visited Bhutan during 1976 , through Puntshiling border.
At that time there was no restrictions and only a gate was build , can travel all the time in & out of Bhutan.
Once entered through New Boingiagaun area , it was opened & no restrictions.
Now Bhutan is completely changed with new modern buildings .
