  • Destiny 2's Lore tells us of the story told by Mithrax about Saint-14, but Mithrax also spoke with Lord Shaxx about their past lives as barbaric warriors. They both struggle with an uncomfortable truth, and also a reason to keep fighting for peace. Mercy.

    "Our Ether tanks, smashed!"
I'm just gonna go on a limb here and say that since that happened we may be in timelines 3, and 6 shown in the lore of Stochastic Variable, along with timelines 6 and 5 of Far Future.
    They read as follows:
"3 : the Last City : radioactive dust : Dark growths in the ruins: where is the Traveler : mutated Ghosts-
    "
"6: the Eliksni Quarter : a crackling portal : snipers fire down : blood runs in the gutter : an Ether tank explodes : the Endless Night : Asher speaks : those FWC traitors-"
Far future "6 : the Tower is still : funeral procession : Zavala dies : Zavala dies : Zavala dies : candles : quiet argument : how did they get in : the Witch Queen flees : they are coming-"
"5: the Tower molders : the Hive Witch's worm : Ghosts at war : a Voice behind the Darkness : the Traveler abandoned us : Taken Cabal : a new Hive rejoices-
    "
And, maybe timelines 3 and 6 have been mixed together with the last sentences of timeline 6 and 5 of the far future lore, making an 8th timeline, as follows:
*"8 : the Last City : a crackling portal : Dark growths in the ruins : snipers fire down : an Ether tank explodes : blood runs in the gutter : mutated Ghosts : the Endless Night : where is the Traveler : a new Hive rejoices : they are coming --"*
Dark growths in the ruins is the glykon along with mutated ghosts, and "snipers fire down/an Ether tank explodes/blood runs in the gutter" is referencing to how we cleared out the glykon. "where is the Traveler" is referencing to how it seems like the traveler is doing nothing to help against the endless night. "They are coming" is referencing to how the hive are coming (cough cough witch queen cough cough) soon. Again, take this with a grain of salt, because these are just assumptions. Thanks!

Not simply an end to the game, but really and endpoint for the relentless assault against our "foes". Mithrax and the seasonal content as a whole, has opened the floor to an idea that I always had while playing... what if? What if we were to stop and truly look at the fallen for what they could be... allies...the sheer number of them as a people has been drilling throughout these wars... but could happen between the house of light and the leaders of the city could prove to be the starting point to an alliance. An alliance that is born in mutual pain, regret, but ultimately, empathy and understanding.

I honestly believe The overall story of Splicer and Chosen has indirectly acted as a sort of Rorschach Test to the members of our community. Basically the opinions held about the story and the characters can reveal the personal biases one may have in their own life. This is because the themes of Hunt, Chosen, and Splicer ask a (often uncomfortable question) fundamental question: "Can you forgive?" With Hunt it asks if you can forgive an individual who personally wronged you (Crow), in Chosen it asked can you forgive a group who recently wronged you (The Cabal), and now in Splicer it asks can you forgive a group with whom you've had a generational history of bloodshed (The Eliksni). The whole concept of forgiveness has always been a difficult thing for humanity to really grasp, but it is needed to push beyond the hate and violence to pave the way for a less bloody future.
