    You’re so refreshing to the photo & video community these days. So much photoshop and over edited BS. It’s so refreshing to find people focused on the purity of the art. Photos that speak for themselves and don’t need to be overstated to be powerful. Love your work man - keep it up.

    Thanks for the video, as someone who overthinks editing and makes me dislike sometimes the process, is wonderful to see how you could get great results without too much time processing the image. Btw, on the second pic, where you talked about colour theory, actually there´s a purple on a horizontal strap on the right. So you could have play with that and the blue, to create more depth and having a different visual path for the eye.

    Thanks for this video! Just getting back into shooting after an extended break for education, and it was really helpful to go through a few basics of editing. With the X100V, you don't need much apart from film simulation and basic edits which is great. I found this like a mini editing tutorial :)

    I mainly shoot pro neg hi jpegs with increased saturation and contrast but seeing your edited photos, I might try out astia again! I remember shooting astia when I first got my x100f, I wasn't a fan of the low contrast high saturation look of it. Maybe I'll try adding some more contrast to get the look that I want, thanks for the video!

    Just found your channel as I am starting to get back into hobby photography after too long of a break. I did a lot of street in the past and usually shot RAW. I am considering just going to JPEG instead. I usually did three styles when converting RAW -- Acros, Astia, or Velvia. I mostly did Acros, but a B&W conversion is easy from color. My edits were very simple like you, a few tweaks in contrast or highlights, add a slight vignette, and basically done. Like you, I wanted the subject to be the focus, not my editing. Great channel. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

    nice video bro - and like your calm, clear manner also.
    I tend to shoot JPEG Provia and punch up the colour +2, highlight -1 and shadows -1. Has worked well for me andI tend spend most of my workflow In exposure and curves ... and I always seem to end up cropping something!
    I love how you showed how Astia works against darker skin tones - I have aways wondered about the effectiveness as I assume generally when skin tones are mentioned they are referencing to lighter tones (possibly my incorrect assumption!). I will def try this going with Astia for my next shoot and see if I like it.
    Thanks gains Faizal and you got yourself a new sub!

    I have always swapped from shooting raw to just shooting jpeg. After watching this, I may switch to shooting RAW+Jpeg. The reason being that's there's been times where I have shot in the awesome classic chrome only to realise, that the image would actually look good in Astia or say acros. I guess this way gives me the option to play with other fuji sims using the raw at a later stage.

    • @ottogloria1384
      @ottogloria1384 Před 2 lety +2

      That´s it. Jped simplifies your life by limiting the post-editing, and, therefore, forces you to get familiar with the simulation you chose in camera. I think that´s a valid way of seeing things, especially with a x100v in hands. But I also keep on saving the raws aswell, notebly for the sake of experimenting/learning in this post shot moment we call editing.

    Are those film simulations in Lightroom accurate in comparison to the one rendered on the Fuji camera directly? I assume they tried to recreate the effect of each simulation and you're obviously using a raw file in Lightroom, but I doubt you will end up with 100% the same end result, since you're not making use of the actual Fuji sensor / chip for rendering.
    Maybe the differences are very subtle and neglectable - I was just curious if you ever felt like you're simulation in Lightroom (pre editing) doesn't look like the jpeg
