  • italeri acrylic paint review & can you thin italeri acrylic paint set for airbrushing? From italeri models.
    This video will test and show case different thinners on different test surfaces though a standard hobby airbrush and air compressor. This paint is not fit for airbrushing or plastic scale models with out primer or correct thinner.
    Only after the filming of this video I learnt a branded thinner exists and was currently unavailable and not cheap at 3 time cost of the paint. Italeri Acrylic Paint 60ml - Thinner. #5049AP SKU: ITP-05049AP
    Google did not make this clear.

      I'll take a pass on these if ever I find them, I like Vallejo and AK line of paints.

    Hello!
    Planning to spray the Italeri gloss white soon, since this will be my first time spraying acrylic, Do I need a thinner for these Italeri paints?

    • @mokanaman
      @mokanaman  Před 5 měsíci

      yes you do, you will need to use Italeri brand for any chance of success. other wise I cannot recomend this product and suggest buying another brand for better finish and experience.

      Thank you for the feedback, I have been requested to try again with thinner but do not want too. Chances are your airbrush might be contaminated but considering that its still inconvenient.

    how do you even make an acrylic paint that cant be thinned with water?

    • @mokanaman
      @mokanaman  Před 3 měsíci

      Acrylic paint and water is chemically some complex stuff and the hardest to atomize in an airbrush. My personal take is I dont like it as water is different around the world including types. I have com across a few bad paints that reacts poorly and will be sure to test even more. Thank you for the sub hope you enjoy the channel.

    What size airbrush needle did you use?

    • @mokanaman
      @mokanaman  Před 3 měsíci

      Tests were done with both a 0.3mm and 0.5mm, clotting is so bad size isnt really a factor.

    These are the wery same paints as vallejo. I have used them both sucsessfully for airbrush. Vallejo thinner or their own is what you need to use. It gums up horribly with other thinners and must be cleaned with vallejo airbrush cleaner in order to not gum up youre airbrush. Some paints are good some are bad. Many times I have mixed them with vallejp paints as they are the same.

      Not sure if this is a different batch, formula or what not but should have turned to jelly from adding of solvent and not spray at all. If I was to compare brands likelyness it would be life color that takes ok to alcohol but amazing to hand paint. Vallejo also hand paints very well. Base could be close to polyurethane and can see it mix. Our expriences could be like different eras of Humbrol were historically it was fantastic and latter batches after being bought by Hornby quality dropped and base changed.
