Machine Union is fun, ABC and XYZ contact fusions. Not sure if you were including contacts though since you didn't mention any. Actually managed to summon A to Z Dragon Buster Cannon a few times in Master Duel, every single time I'm certain my opponent had to stop for a minute and realize it existed.

HERO is my go to deck when playing competitively. It's more out of sentiment than actual practicality since GX was my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! spinoff. I enjoy the synergy between the cards and it's so satisfying to defeat an opponent playing a meta deck with what is considered a Rogue Tier deck. My preferred strategy Turn 1 is to set up so that my board has Destiny HERO Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer, Wake Up your Elemental HERO and Xtra HERO Wonder Driver. If my opponent tries to use Nibiru, the Primal Being, I can chain DPE to destroy both it and Wake Up to dodge them getting tributed and getting off their destruction effects. I'd get DPE on the next Standby Phase and Wake Up allows me to search any Warrior monster. This would then allow me to go into Destiny HERO Plasma, a walking Skill Drain. It would then absorb Nibiru and become a 3400 ATK beat stick. With DPE returning on the next Standby Phase, it allows for excellent Monster protection.

Cyber Dragons shoiuld be a honorable mention because of using different spells to fusion summon cards like chimeratech fusions and cyber twin dragon Except for chimeratech Fortress Dragon since it needs to be made by sending cydra and other machine monsters on the field and a quick way to do that is also having cydra out plus Clockwork night will turn your opposing side of the field into machines also. Dark magician is another good one too and even though they play like 5 main fusions like 2x Red-eyes Dark Dragoon and the dragon knight master of chaos and The Dark Magicians, can be added to stuff like branded fusion package, but I play a crazy pure version ansd its about as competitive as i can make it.

@apsamplifier you could do it in this style. 5 decks to get started with in master duel.
Maybe just kind of breakdown what's the best way to spend your gems as new player. Go over the structure decks available and their archetypes.
Not all, but just the ones that would be good for beginners.
Also you could explain the staples and the 11ish cards most decks play( 3 Maxx c, 3 ash, 3 imperm, 2 called by).
I think master duel is pretty generous with gems early on, but if you spend them poorly, it's pretty difficult to get URs in the game.
Another idea would be to kind of give a snapshot of the general meta. Maybe go over each archetype a bit that is at the top currently or some that you think will be viable for a while.
I guess it's hard to do since MD bans change often, but if you could try to make it a way that it could be relevant for a long time it would be a great resource for new players!

No love for Dinomorphia being mentioned.
The deck is a trap focused fusion deck, so you can run things like Wannabee! and Arias the Labrynth Butler if you want. Because the deck doesn't normally special summon on your turn, you can also run things like Pot of Duality without being too punished. The deck normally runs only its trap cards that let it fusion (I mean, in context to Fusion Summoning, not as in those are the only traps in the deck), but you can run things like normal Poly to help with the strategy, but don't go with Poly at three. It can also run Necro Fusion, but that's only if you're wanting to experiment.
And while the deck can be punished by Ash, the deck has one of the best monster negates in the game in the form of Intact. Intact only requires one other Dinomorphia card on the field to meet its requirement to be activated when your opponent uses a monster effect. Note; I said *card*, not monster, so cards like Domain and Frenzy meet that requirement if your opponent tries to Ash either of them. If you lack Intact, another option, though weaker, is XX-clusion. XX-clusion has the same activation window as the last example of Domain/Frenzy being Ash (opponent's monster effect, but from hand) and negates it, then forces the opponent to discard one card from their hand.
Dinomorphia is also a very high-risk, high reward playstyle. This is because every trap in the archetype costs half your LP, and Kentregina's and Rexterm's activated effects cost half your LP as well, while Stealthbergia, Diplos, and Therizia have additional effects if you're below 2000 LP. Stealthbergia makes all Dinomorphia cards (and traps in general) have 0 LP cost, Diplos deals a small 500 burn on its effect, and Therizia gains an additional 500 atk on its effect. Stealthbergia can also do some cheeky burn damage if your opponent uses a monster effect, burning them for equal to that monster's original atk.
The monsters also all have floating effects. The Fusions can summon a monster from the GY that's at least two levels below it (Rexterm can summon a fusion summoned Stealthbergia or Kent, or Diplos or Therizia, while Bergia and Kent can only summon Diplos or Therizia), while the main deck monsters can summon the other on destruction at the cost of banishing a trap in the GY.
And finally, the traps in the GY have additional effects if you're below 2000 LP. It's easy to remember which does which- Counter Traps protect from battle damage from that single battle, while the normal traps protect from burn for that entire turn.
Outside the previously mentioned Wannabee!, Arias, and Pot of Duality, cards like Solemn Judgment works perfectly in this deck. Ferret Flames is a great board wipe in this deck. And you can be even more cheeky by throwing in Psychic End Punisher.

I've been playing Frightfur ever since it came out, the OTK was crazy back then, but with all the omni negates these days it is basically impossible. I always was a sucker for the aesthetic too, the corruption of stuffed animals to murderous monstrosities tickles my brain in just the right way.
I've been trying to learn Branded Despia lately, mostly because I like the entire macabre theatre aesthetic of the Despia's but did it have to be so damn complicated.
Dragonmaid has been one of my most played decks in Masterduel, but it's quite expensive to build the deck in real life.
Never touched Predapant mostly beacuse I don't wanna attempt to pronounce those crazy names.
