He’s put up 40+ minutes multiple times and is having his best statistical year of his career shooting 40% from three on 10 attempts let that sink in plus the pace is was better he did all those things you listed hence why he’s the front runner w jokic for mvp

It’s just not the same like last year where he had to play “Luka ball” the whole season and when you have to do everything for your offense,you’re not gonna have any energy left to play defense but now even when he have an off game against the Bull and only scored 18 but the other team was guarding him full court and always double team him the Mavs canstill win and they didn’t have Kyrie in that game too. I think I underestimated the off-season from them DJJ is playing the the best basketball in his career so far and Grant Williams too. And they finally have a REAL center. Luka has been throwing Lob to Powell and Kleber for 5 years now😂and Kyrie when he got to Dallas He averaged more rebounds than Powell,Kyrie averaged 3rd in that team for rebounding, can y’all imagine that he averaged more rebounds than the STARTING center last year. Good job Mavs front office
Before the season started i thought he would have a good chance on mvp race but he surpassed my estimation. its great to see him playing on this level.

@@rockysalvatore435 not saying jokic is bad by any means, but i think that the nuggets are a lot better team than the mavs and jokic wouldnt be doing what is he without his teammates. hes still a great player dont get me wrong but i think luka has carried the mavs a lot more than jokic carries the nuggets.
He could have done this 2 years earlier if he had discipline. But he kept coming into the season fat.

Luka was arguably the most valuable guy to his team since he came in. By his 2nd year he def was and by a distance. Ever since joker won MVP Luka was a distance greater than the one he had. Especially after the loner season joker had. No one has come close since. If Luka can steal a fair MVP not bc of voter fatigue that's one of the goat achievements lol.

He has the magic, I wish he had a fire kindled which lasts entire seasons to push for Championships, we could see how he changes his teams playstyle mid-game like Jokic does (in Playoffs it's your coach versus Jokic & Co.).
The Mavs are rocking. This summer, GM Nico Harrison & Mark Cuban added the perfect pieces: Lively II (draft), Dereck Jones Jr. (Free agent), and the beast in waiting, OMax Prosper (just you wait, this kid is going to be amazing). Signing Josh Green long-term and adding backup Powell on the cheap was HUGE. Toss in defending PG Dante Exum who can take into the paint and free agent Grant Williams... all these are solid pieces to surround Luka and Kyre. And all those defenders make Hardaway's job even easier. Let's not forget about Hardy and Seth Curry. What a team. 3 titles are coming. Lively only 19 and having massive games already.

Sadly it don't matter much because Mavs are still suffering from their children illnesses.They need a better defense!This kind of defense can help them to win the games through regular season,better to say this offense can do it...but in playoffs they probably won't be able to do anything special if they cannot elevate their defense,or bring in more defensive oriented players.Mavs are,and they will be a fun team to watch,but sadly anything else above that will be a success for them...

As a Slovenian my favourite 3D thing to do is so see Luka kill everyone! 🔥🔥 Kai gets it, It's not about money, It's about getting rings in this game. You are not playing for money and if you are you already lost. That is my ego take on it but if you are true to yourself you know it's true and Luka is not playing for the money, his is playing for the thrill to be in the game and he is always looking for the kill. That is why MJ likes him. Same passion from a brother from another mother.

The thing that's so special about this brother, that i believe the average NBA fan fails to recognize.. is that he makes the extremely difficult, looks so easy. Go to your local YMCA, or PS gym. Practice by yourself, shooting 23+ foot jumpers, going to your left, right, and stand still position, all off the dribble. I want you to chart how many you attempted, and made. Then imagine doing that, with some of the world's most athletic basketball players, from the range of 6'5 to 6'11 (Jaren Jackson Jr got sprayed multiple times in this clip PAUSE). Applying intense defensive pressure, contesting the shot perfectly at the top of the release. And somehow this brother routinely makes these shots, as if the defeneder isnt even there. Or that he's not shooting it from Waco.
Only comparable players I've seen to Luka's Beyond Hall of Fame difficult shot making.. are one Wardell Stephen Curry, and Kobe Bean Bryant. And I'll say even Steph at times gets easy shots (although no 3pt jumper is easy due to it's sheer distance). Due to the fact he does play off the ball at times, and doesn't have to initiate every play, that the Warriors run in the half court.
With all that being said.. similarly to James Harden's Houston peak.. i think this style of play will never win Luka The Don, a championship. To do this for close to 82 games, and then try to do it for another 16 wins in the playoffs. Is a tall task to ask. Eventually, the offense will have to become more dynamic, and not as Luka centric. Cuase eventually when those high quality playoff teams, can come up with a gameplan specifically for Luka. After he's carried the load for an entire NBA regular season. Those legs are gonna get heavy. And those extremely tough shots, aren't gonna fall (I.e. WCF v Warriors in 22').
But the boy is bad.. and if he keeps this up, with 50+ wins? The MVP, is his to lose.

Dude that was the whole reason they made the moves they've made over the past season plus is to take some of the burden off of Luka, so I'm tired of hearing the "This will never win you anything" nonsense. Him and Kyrie are starting to gel wonderfully and unselfishly, and now have other key components to finally have a very cohesive TEAM that would be conducive to success. A team like this has way more business making a good run in the post season than teams just trying to stack egotistical superstars with no concern for fit.

Not yet. He still need be better than Jokic, better defence, no tech foul, ctrl his emotions constantly, etc.
His defense is actually pretty good this year, his iso defensive possessions are actually VERY good surprisingly and with more than anyone in the whole league, he just needs to avoid bad lapses when things go south. Which ties into the fact that yes, he definitely does need to be better about controlling his emotions, badly.
