  • In this video, I show you how I installed my Group N Subaru STi engine mounts. I'll also discuss some tips and tricks for installing these mounts, so you can have an easy install! This install was done on my 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi but should be fairly universal for other models and years of Subaru.

    Strange, some sites list 410224S020 as the Group N mounts for EJ but they are round not square.

    Are the original engine mounts the same soft rubber as the transmission mount? I know when I changed out my transmission mount for the STI group N transmission mount I couldn't believe how soft the original is ..feels like it's not even doing anything.

      The soft rubber absorbs more vibrations which is what most people want. It does what it is meant to do which is reduce NVH.

    I know this is a longshot, but is it possible to do this job without removing the headers?

    • @HazardGarage
      @HazardGarage  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I think I've seen it done. But seriously itll be much easier with them off. Headers arent bad to remove at all. My tip, is when you put them back in, install them one piece at a time (the headers are actually 3 parts).

      I just completed this job without removing the headers. The only time it came up was when I was moving the old mounts out of position, or moving the new mounts into position. Even then, after a few minutes of rotating them in different ways I was able to get them in and out.

    You didn't talk about the ground wire under the engine to remove if you going to jack your engine up

    Bro, my ct 2022 is having an engine rough idle and vibrations, stuttering and hiccups at 1.5k-2k rpm when accelerating. What are the usual causes? I only run for 7k kms. Thanks, man. Highly appreciate if you could answer this and if you could give advice.

      could be misfires? check your engine for CELs, clean your MAF sensor, make sure spark plugs and or coil packs are good, vaccum leaks.
      There is a lot that could be the issue..a mechanic should be able to investigate more

    How do i get my engine align? Lol the engine is like an inch off from the stud. I cant bring the engine back to the hole

      Sorry for the late reply. Hope you got it sorted out. But if thats the case make sure obviously make sure the mounts arent tightend down yet, and really you just need to man handle it until it falls back in the holes.

    are the mounts the same for the legacy 255?

    Do you have to remove the top "dog bone" transmission mount?

    • @HazardGarage
      @HazardGarage  Před 7 měsíci +1

      it definitely will make it easier. The higher you can lift the engine the more space you have for the back bolts. You can remove the dogbone with some extensions from the side without having to remove the intercooler.

    You're missing a screw holding in your power steering reservoir.
