In honor of the 70th anniversary there will be new editions of Ian Fleming's James Bond books - with some slight changes. Here's Fleming's reaction to the news his books will be altered.

Seems pretty accurate.
Mr Flemming, sir. Do core now! It's just the modern world!

Great video... Gotta ask, what's the music called at 1:11 it's brilliant...
This is well made - and not least funny!
As much love as I have for ALL the James Bond actors, I really really really wish that a young Charles Dance could have played Bond!!!!!!!!!
In the Craig Era, James Bond was systematically dismembered and neutered under the destructive force of phlegminism.
Not really, Craig Bond is awesome.
@@HOTD108_ the only awesome thing about him was his death. Good riddance, what a drag.
@@HOTD108_ Quantum of Solace? Spectre?
@TheDylandProductions Multiple Bonds had bad movies.
QOS and Spectre are bad moreso due to technical incompetence and being generally rushed.
They were not philosophically attempting to neuter much of anything
As me, the fan, I don't like this. But I don't have any standing.
How would Felming feel if were still with us? We can only guess. It's easy to say he would feel the same. After all, it would be his creation being changed without permission. It is art, it is sacred, etc....
The other point of view is Felming was in the business of selling books. Tell him that more books will be sold if they made some new edits. That would please an author, would it not? More money for him... or his estate.
So I don't condone the argument "Fleming wouldn't want the changes" because for all we know, he would have welcomed them if it sold more books.
However, he's no longer her to say either way. Therefore my preference would be to default to the author's original voice and make no changes. Let the original books stand as they were written. If they are no longer deemed sensible for public consumption in the modern day, then add a disclaimer. Otherwise it is objectionable to try to re-write history based on modern day attitudes. It's a disservice to history, and to any injustice that is trying to be corrected.
Bloody discusting what they did, against Ian's wishes. Hollywood or whoever created that mess called 'No Time to Die' will forever pay for such sins of killing off Bond.... It was never written by Ian, so to me it never happened. The Man, The Myth; The Legend. He still lives on, Long LIve James Bond. - Goldeneye - Ian Fleming - A.D
