What Is The BRUTAL Series?
The BRUTAL series is a series of videos I do inside of the game Transport Fever 2. It's designed to be an extremely hard version of the game, that has to stick to real life as much as physically possible. We do 1 year each episode, which may sound slow, but my much more fast paced editing compared to other transport fever youtubers means that only the bits YOU want to actually watch are included, any umming and arring is always cut out and it's just the content you came to watch. Transport Fever 2:
Provide the world with the transport infrastructure it needs and make a fortune with custom-made transport services. Finally, the realistic transport and economy simulator, along with comprehensive modding support, round off the gameplay experience.
A huge game world is waiting for your railroads, road vehicles, aircraft and ships. Intuitive interactive rail construction tools and a modular construction system for stations make it easy to build and expand your transport empire; and thanks to a wide range of configuration options, every free play game provides a new challenge, where completely different strategies can lead to success.
It is vital to adapt your company to the needs of the economy and cities: bridges, tunnels, switches, rail signals, one-way streets, light signals, and bus lanes are just some of the possibilities you can use to optimize the transport infrastructure. Deluxe Edition seems to have pretty good performance even without the mod on my system (5800X, 32GB 3733MHz CL16 DDR4, 5700 XT). But in case someone is still having performance issues, make sure you're running the game in "Borderless" or "Windowed" if you have Vsync enabled. Fullscreen + Vsync turns the game into a stutter fest on my rig. With Enhanced Sync and Chill enabled with an 80 FPS cap and vsync disabled in the game on Fullscreen, it is absolutely butter smooth now, and the performance mod makes it even better.

simulation crawling to a halt is a bigger problem for me, I had to stop building a map because it had reached like 155k

Absolutely totally agree. 32GB ram, Ryzen 7 and a RX5700 and I’m lucky if I get 1 frame a second now I’ve a population of 150000. Processor at 98% permanently. The games insanely good - but ever expanding your empire ultimately kills it.

Thanks. Rather than the frame rate dropping through the floor when I've been at ground level I now get a steady 15fps.
I'm running the game on a fairly old laptop that has a Nvidia GeForce GT 525M card, 8GB of RAM, 2.70GHz dual core i5, plus a 222GB SSD so yeah not the best, but the game looks fine to me.

Is this mod allowed in speedruns? It doesn't alter gameplay at all, and it would lower the barrier of entry in terms of PC power significantly. Could help even the playing field.

Sure. Ask someone in the goodshephard discord server to install the mod you want and then send it you. This video shows you how to install and upload maps which is basically the same place as the mods folder: czcams.com/video/SWu2ZTOzdts/video.html

Thanks for the video. I don't understand what this achievement mod has to do with the performance mod though? I've tested the performance mod now, but the game deactivates it every time I activate it. Do you have any tips on this? There is no crash, the mod is simply deactivated. Thx and take care!
The performance mod disables achievements. Achievements with mods counteracts this
This was very helpful, I am thinking of upgrading my i59400 to a i512400 or 13400 or maybe switch to Ryzen 5 7600; do you think it my help, I plan to keep my 1660ti.
