    This video is in response to all of you who have asked me for school recommendations and how to find a school to study at. I have shared my experience here in the hopes that it helps you think of the factors that are important to your own study needs.

    This is really insightful! Because often times we only hear what a university or college is like from a domestic student & non mature aged student's perspective!

    - What is the duration of ACAP in Social work? How long is the program?
    - Is it possible to advance from ACAP Social Work to Masters degree in Social work?
    - Will you be allowed to work in Australia while studying ACAP program?
    - Did you get a study visa for ACAP? How does your student visa status get affected if you decide to apply and progress from ACAP studies to a Masters degree in Social Work at an Australian university?

    Hi Chioma, I would like to know if you had a degree already in something related to Social Work or you just applied from a totally different qualification. And secondly, how successful is it to come as a Masters student than change to a degree? Thanks

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Jessica, I had a Bachelor Degree in Communication, not related to social work. If by the second part of your question, you mean starting with a Masters and downgrading to a Bachelor degree, I'm not sure how that will work, however, I would be careful as it could potentially affect your visa. Again, this is not expert migration advice, just my opinion.

    Hey Chioma,
    I am from Sydney, seeking to study social work I am uncertain whether i want to attend western Sydney university or ACAP. I am here wondering whether you personally found the degree difficult, in regard to studying, and was there exams or just assessments and how much support do you find educators gave to you when needed? I have already my community services cert IV and diploma of community services case management, so I have the certifications to progress my education.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před rokem

      It was assignment based with take home exams and a research (thesis) unit with a chunky credit load at the end. I found some of my educators to be supportive, but the system generally was not without its flaws. Generally, I believe even people who study together in the same environment can come out with very different experiences. Good luck

    what are the career outcomes and Pr chances in Australia for international students?

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  Před 2 lety

      PR prospects depend on whether you study toward an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list for PR. Career prospects also depend on the industry. Generally speaking, career prospects are strong, but obviously you should be guided by the potential in each industry.
