- In this video, I am sharing a healthy plant based lentil stew with a few meal options.
This is a great lentil stew to make as part of a meal prep and enjoy it with different veggies and carbohydrates throughout the week.
If you are using sprouted lentils then this will take approximately 35-40 minutes to cook from start to finish. You will have this ready in 25 minutes if you're using pre-cooked brown lentils.
Sprouted lentils are easier to digest and will really benefit you if you struggle to digest legumes.
The Recipe:
3 cups sprouted brown lentils
1 1/2 small onion or 1 medium onion
3 garlic clove
2 sprigs of thyme
3 cups water
*cook for 20 minutes or until soft
3/4 cup Passata
1/2 tsp ground spice
1 tbsp coconut sugar
1 tsp smoked paprika
1.5 tsp sea salt or to taste
1/2 tsp cayenne
To thicken:
2 Tbsp Gram flour or cornflour or potato starch
1/4 cup water

Thanks Jessica. And no worries.
Wow coconut sugar! Would have never thought of that.
It's good to use because it's not too sweet.
Loved the video and meal ideas.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you. Glad to hear. 🙂
I like this. This is beautiful. Can I try this with green grams as well?
Hi Simwah,
Yes, it should work. I've never tried using green grams, but I have sprouted a few beans and legumes without any issues.
