"Haltane is a fragrance for a gentleman of today, inspired by the gentilhommes of the Chateau de Marly in the 18th. century." - Julien Sprecher, Founder and Artistic Director of Parfums de Marly.
Haltane is the newest fragrance from the house of Parfums de Marly. Considered a woody, aromatic fragrance for men. Though said to have been made exclusively for Harrod's, Haltane is sold at fine department stores and fragrance boutiques. Haltane retails for $395.00 for a 125ml.
** Please note, I received my information on the notes of this fragrance from Frangratica. Looking at the Parfums de Marly site, Haltane is listed as having:
Top: Bergamot, Lavender, Clary Sage
Middle: Saffron, Cedarwood, Praline, Oudwood
Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Musk, Leather, and Natural Agarwood.**

I always appreciate your historical perspective on these fragrances. For me that's just as important as the note breakdown. I really like this scent, and while I'm not oud crazy the note is kept in check. PDM bottles are like truck chocks...lol...love the heft to them. I like classy scents. Elitist maybe, but nothing like keeping the bar high where you can. Thanks again!

I have a few from this house, Katherine. I won a bottle of PdM from Sebastian's channel too.
Myself, I wouldn't pony up full retail for any offerings from this house.
It's not that I dislike them, but for me, it's more of an upscale designer house.
I haven't sampled Haltane, and because of your review, I will give it a sample see.

It was when Sebastian was in France, and he was at PdM's flagship boutique.
The owner wanted a question answered regarding everyone's favorite horse breed.
She would then pick out the one she liked best.
I won a huge sample set from him also. I forget what brand it was.
I won on Carlos's channel a number of times.
I also won a bottle of Oeillet Bengale from Aedes de Venustas.
All of this was some years back, before CZcams and the fragrance community became huge.
I own OFG and Memo African Leather and for me, this sits perfectly in between..
Haltane is super good. Unfortunately, they have reformulated all fragrances, and this doesn't stay. Better go with Oud for Greatness.
It’s such a shame when a high quality fragrance has no longevity. I don’t know why a house needs to revise them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 💖
