My girlfriend and I both struggle with depression. But, we found that if we take comfort and solace in each other, we can overcome our problems. We basically became each other's support system.

I was put on all kinds of meds at age 12 and nothing ever worked. I was also in a horrible relationship years ago and i didn't want to face reality and let that person go. He was abusive he cheated on me many times and with someone who i thought was a friend but wasn't. I was addicted to alcohol and drugs(opiates) and i stopped when i got pregnant with my son and i haven't had a drink or a drug since and i got out of that relationship wich was really hard so hard that i tried to take my own life and ended up in the hospital. Music is the one thing that's always helped me through hard times bands like korn slipknot ffdp metallica ect. Things have been really bad lately and I've been crying alot and barely able to get out of bed. But thanks to youtubers like alex these videos really help me escape life for a bit so i don't know if he'll read this but if you do read this i just want to say thank you for what you do. You're an amazing guy who actually cares about your subscribers and you don't see that very often it's very refreshing to see.I'm still not doing the greatest but that's life. I always feel so alone and unloved i just don't have anything left to give i feel. I lost my son it's hard to talk about so tje only person i talk with about it is my therapist. I also lost my grandma who raised me she died in august from a heart attack. I'm still not over it and i probably won't ever be. I hurts so bad. But yeah i know how it feels. But i love Alex's comment section everyone is so kind and non judgemental and i love that. I love watching you with your mom....my 25 year old daughter (I'm 60) was into Slipknot as a teen and I started listening because of reaction channels like yours. I got her into classic rock and she got me into metal. We are going to Knotfest in Massachusetts next month after the May 2020 show was cancelled. I cannot wait!! I'm just getting out of my depression I've been stuck in a black hole for months, I know in time it will be were I am fully happy and I'm very proud of myself because my addiction is cutting myself, I'm 3 years sober and when I really wanted to cut, I didn't and for that I'm very proud I didn't not once. In my past I would have and I'm very happy I stayed sober even in my darkest moments. I stared cutting when I was 13 years old, I was sober for five years and cut and had to start all over. I am 30 years old now and I can't wait to hit that five year mark again. I know I will make it to that five year mark and I know I will see hard times again but I will fight until I die to never cut again.

I'm dealing with mental health issues as well as a substance abuse problem. I'm going on 13 years clean and sober and am going through therapy. I take some medications but I don't take anything for anxiety. The other mental health meds I take are not addictive but for anxiety, Benzodiazepines are prescribed, and not only are they very addictive they were one of the drugs I had a problem with.
I wish you to overcome your addiction and anxiety. Anxiety sucks ass. I’ve learned hobbies and speaking to yourself. Being your friend and not putting yourself down helps a lot. Keep pushing forward

First things first, it's great seeing Mama Hefé again, she looks so pretty! Not that she looked "unhappy" before, but she looks so happy in this one. She's practically glowing. I know this past couple years was tough on her and your family. SECONDLY... Limoncello LaCroix is pretty good. Not my favorite by any means, but LaCroix knows their stuff. Thirdly, when you got goosebumps.. it was RIGHT after you were lip syncing with the song, and I felt that. It's such a rush to feel the song, feel the music, and actually BE in the moment. I get those chills every time I'm re-listening to song and feel the notes move through me. Very powerful. Lastly, I'm so very happy and proud of your mom for fighting to where she is today. No her means no you and that's just not okay. The bond y'all share is rooted in some deep, often times traumatic connection and I love y'all for it. It's always beautiful when she's on.

Like how when a kid is growing up depressed they're often referred to being "very mature for their age" Might also be referring to how much he has changed so much and he hates what he's become because of his depression
I took it as he was talking to the drugs and alcohol ( combined as an idea or as a person or thing could convey messages), that like the promise of its effects would heal his depression. So "how dare you lie to me" is him saying "the saint in him is dead because of the lies you promised him to help him cope with depression and anger, when in fact it just made it worse."
Love how you can see the great relationship Alex and his mom have. They can sit down and bond over something like this and hold a conversation about its meaning while joking and having fun. So cool.

I really think that it's almost impossible to be both at the same time,for any length of time anyway. I used drugs to escape the depression then I was depressed because of what I was doing to keep the depression away. Terrible cycle

Without missing a beat I replied "you killed him, and I'm what's left.(in the cold tone of Hannibal Lecter, but using just my eyes gave her the Jack Nicholson crazy eyes) She was slightly put off by this.

I really got into their one single from 2019, all out life, and not too long after I got into that song, I saw your reaction video on it which I liked, and I heard the song from them once or twice in the past and for some odd reason I think I thought back then that it was a slower song to some degree and I find it weird that I think that’s what I thought back then because I got some instant lately in the last handful of weeks to listen to the song again but I love just how quick and fast paced that music is and I looked into a version on here with lyrics, and I’ve always liked how smart Corey Taylor‘s lyrics were, and then I thought to myself I’ve already listened to the song several times and I’m learning the lyrics, I looked back on the song in the search bar and scroll down and came across this video with you and your mom reacting to it, and first off, your mom is it’s kind of cute, LOL, that’s just a straight up complement towards her, but I like that not only you and her talked about the lyrics and the song back-and-forth, I like that she not only likes the music, but she likes it loud and there has not been many moms that I’ve known mainly moms and friends of mine that don’t necessarily mind or like music that way in the fashion that your mom does, but I thought that was really cool and you guys have a hilarious rapport going between each other.

On another note, as several others in the comments have shared as well, I also have been struggling with depression. It's been an off and on thing for the past decade; failed relationships led to heavy drinking which landed me a DUI, a brother of mine (super close friend) shot himself and another friend was murdered, both of which fueled even more drinking. The list goes on and on. Coming back from that is hard but I'm still here and I've got something akin to survivor's guilt. Music helps a lot. I'm glad you've never actually had depression.

Great video Alex, both Unsainted and Nero Forte have been playing constantly for me, both songs have so much meaning to me, but I am finding them a pressure release, I can shout out the lyrics and get rid of all the stuff that has built up over the years. I love Slipknot, people say heavy metal is loud and dumb, but you would be surprised how much they help people with mental issues, I know Slipknot have helped me.

I really got into their one single from 2019, all out life, and not too long after I got into that song, I saw your reaction video on it which I liked, and I heard the song from them once or twice in the past and for some odd reason I think I thought back then that it was a slower song to some degree and I find it weird that I think that’s what I thought back then because I got some instant lately in the last handful of weeks to listen to the song again but I love just how quick and fast paced that music is and I looked into a version on here with lyrics, and I’ve always liked how smart Corey Taylor‘s lyrics were, and then I thought to myself I’ve already listened to the song several times and I’m learning the lyrics, I looked back on the song in the search bar and scroll down and came across this video with you and your mom reacting to it, and first off, your mom is it’s kind of cute, LOL, that’s just a straight up complement towards her, but I like that not only you and her talked about the lyrics and the song back-and-forth, I like that she not only likes the music, but she likes it loud and there has not been many moms that I’ve known mainly moms and friends of mine that don’t necessarily mind or like music that way in the fashion that your mom does, but I thought that was really cool and you guys have a hilarious rapport going between each other.

On another note, as several others in the comments have shared as well, I also have been struggling with depression. It's been an off and on thing for the past decade; failed relationships led to heavy drinking which landed me a DUI, a brother of mine (super close friend) shot himself and another friend was murdered, both of which fueled even more drinking. The list goes on and on. Coming back from that is hard but I'm still here and I've got something akin to survivor's guilt. Music helps a lot. I'm glad you've never actually had depression.

Great video Alex, both Unsainted and Nero Forte have been playing constantly for me, both songs have so much meaning to me, but I am finding them a pressure release, I can shout out the lyrics and get rid of all the stuff that has built up over the years. I love Slipknot, people say heavy metal is loud and dumb, but you would be surprised how much they help people with mental issues, I know Slipknot have helped me.
