- In this video, we go over how to wire up a low-voltage protection circuit. Tons of people have been upgrading speed and power in a kid's power wheels ride-on. Important information needed to prevent damaging your expensive power tool lithium-ion batteries is to add a low voltage protection device. I had to upgrade to a 24v relay the one you recommended started to get hot when I tested the circuit. I also used a push button hold-in circuit to automatically disconnect the low voltage module so it wouldn’t continue to drain the battery thanks for the video helped out a-lot
Hey - great video! Exactly what I have been looking for in a video so that I can upgrade an old dune race for my son. My plan is to use two 20V 5AH batteries in parallel so that it will have roughly the same amperage as the original 12V lead acid battery. Thanks for the upload! I may come back with some questions if I get stuck...
Perfect video sir
Great channel! Wow
if you added one more relay to your drawing, you wouldn’t need a key switch. The relay coil would be powered by the power output of the voltage sensitive relay, and when the voltage sensitive relay turns off because of the low-voltage, it would turn off the relay that gives itself power therefore killing itselfwithout any extra switches or teaching the kid how to use the key switch, etc.
Great video, mine comes with a 24v battery can i do the same process just to eliminate the 24v stock battery ? Thanks
With a 40 V battery system. Would I need a different size Relay, or would the forty amp relay work
HELP. Looking for a 24 volt electric jeep type vehicle with snowplow for Xmas 2023. I saw something called snowjoe. Is this vehicle worth it. Do you know of any other brands or where else I can get one?
I have a question for you still not clear where key splices in at ?
I'm surprised somebody doesn't sell a kit with all the parts you need. I just ordered two Milwaukee adapters and two boards yesterday. Any chance that relay can be picked up at an autoparts store? Thanks.
Yes, it's a common spst relay. Nobody wants to touch the liability of making a child's ride on FAST!!!
@@CustomKidzCars ohhhh. That makes sense.
Do you use 12V motors or do you need an upgrade for the motors?
When you use 18V?
Stock motors, overvolted 50% gives you 7.5 mph
Can i do same setup without the starter switch ?
Not without totally draining the battery if u forget to remove them
Boy this us confusing 🤔. I just added a 20 volt bsttery and no issues. I do like the idea of adding the resistor. Is this set up over kill ?
