    Originally from Ohio, moved to Florida at age 26 to finish school in Gainesville, now retired in Pinellas County(Saint Petersburg). Like it a lot!
    But, if you live here year round, Summer sucks! Hot and Humid for 3 months. We travel elsewhere a bit especially in the Summer.
    Also a lot of tourists in the Winter months. Booming everywhere, and costs are going up a lot.
    Honestly the best option is to be a part time resident if possible. Also if water and beaches are not your thing, might look elsewhere. There is not a single real hill in the entire state.
    The list of cities seems pretty good, as stated, inland Florida is cheaper(and hotter)

    Love your videos. They are a wealth of information. We picked Sarasota as we looked at all the info online. However, when actually staying in Sarasota and looked at other towns in person we fell in love with Venice for multiple reasons and ended up buying a home there.

    My husband and I live in Miami...he born and raised and I've lived here since I was 5. I do not want to be retired here. This decision on where to go is harder than I ever thought it would be.

    $400k median price? House might cost what $75k to build? No thanks.

      Cost a lot more than $75K to buy a land and build a decent house on it. I know, I'm a builder.

    As part of my retirement plans and also owing to the very shaky housing market now, I just sold a property in Philly and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $200k gains in months, I'm really just confused at this point.

    • @MaverickDylan-7
      @MaverickDylan-7 Před měsícem

      Yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge, And it also all depends on how long you're willing to hold for, stocks might likely tank further, but making serious gains in this downtrend wouldn't be a problem if you're a pro.

      @@MaverickDylan-7 Reason I decided to work closely with a broker ever since the market got really tensed and the pressure became so much(I should be retiring in 17months) so I've had an brokerage-adviser guide me through the chaos, its been 9months and counting and I've made approx. 650K net from all of my holdings.

    This might be a bizarre question but are there any areas in Florida that are not hurricane prone?

    • @katrinreal
      @katrinreal  Před 10 měsíci

      All have a chance to get hit except some are more prone to it purely due to geography
