Hello Guys! This is part two of my Amish series. If you want to see PART 1 it's here: czcams.com/video/z6SlJZk5guI/video.html
CORRECTION: Also, I shot this video a bit over a month ago. I stated restaurants were closed in San Francisco (other than takeout) which was true at the time I shot this video. Since then outdoor dining has resumed and indoor dining is at 25%.
And this is hopefully just a start with my Amish content. This summer I hope to do a deeper dive in Landcaster County, PA, or Ohio. I need to find the right people to bring me in. Thanks for coming along!
And don't forget to stop in nappanee& bremen indiana!!! Loved the videos
I’ve become a huge fan. I’m a psychotherapist by profession, so it’s a gift to have even a small view on cultural diversity here!

Thanks man for all these videos. I don't usually comment on videos, but man, these past series have helped me see life in general from a different perspective. And i don't mean that from religious point of view.
We hired some amish folks to re shingle our house. They gave us a massive discount, were done in 2 days(big roof) ,AND invited us to their community for a huge community meal. They put a roof up for us AND gave us a free meal. They are truly great people,as down to earth as you can get.
I’d happily build a Koala shelter
God bless🙏
What state do you reside in Koala? Thx
Do they get nervous about money? Like if they got a big pay day would that be a cause for concern?

"I'ts like being back in the 90s" Exactly! Great times when ppl where actually still living outside instead of in their phones and computer screens ...
Yup. It’s quite sad really isn’t it :(
Those were the daaaaays.
Everyday I miss the 90s more and more. It’s so sad what this world has turned into with technology. Life was so much simpler and so much more joyous back then.
I'd love the relive the 90s all over again. Would be hard to get out of some of the addiction of technology as it's made to be addictive nowadays, especially the TV anymore with Netflix, Hulu, Prime video, etc...where there's always something addicting on them before you used to put the TV on for sports, TV show you like, now it's all right at your fingertips.

My Grandmother's family left Lancaster Pa in a covered wagon and went to Ohio in the 1800s. On the way, they had to burn their furniture due to the cold but they saved one Governor Winthrop Desk which is still in the family. Eventually, they settled in northeast Indiana. My Great Great Grandfather donated the land for the first Mennonite Church in Leo, Indiana.
God bless you, Peter, for trying to bring America together in a time of division

You’ll never see this stuff on mainstream media anymore like they used to show.

"kinda feels like the 90's..."
When people were actually happy and had meaning in their lives...
Yup. I missed this feeling.

Peter- you’re so good at this! Just striking up conversation with anyone in a respectful and friendly way. Well done!
I'm Hasidic. It's beautiful to see another community in this great country with family values. The Amish are such hard working people. They keep their traditions, and from my experience they seem much happier than the average New Yorker for sure.

I'm from Indonesia. I would say that i really love and respect this community. I hope i would be able to visiting this kind of place :) big thanks to Peter! Greetings from Indonesia!
I am originally from San Diego, California and moved here to Wisconsin 9 years ago and I live in an area that has a big Mennonite community. These are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are just so amazing because they are there for one another when there is a need. They have helped My family when we had financial difficulties. I’ve had the honor of attending a wedding and a couple funerals. They help when there is a disaster such as the fires that occurred out in California. The Paradise fire. They Went out there and helped that community rebuild and they donate clothing etc. to other Countries etc. I feel very blessed to be living here and interacting with these people. Thank you for having this channel. God Bless You.
Also, the food is Amazing! The grocery stores they have has the freshest food such as meat, cheese etc. I can go on forever on the positive things I love about living here but anyway I would never even Consider moving back to California.

That brought tears to my eyes.

As Mennonite myself, this was so interesting to see through the eyes of someone that has never been to Pinecraft! I love your openness with people and your honest, non partial journalism. Keep it up! I have a youtube channel as well, that helps others understand us more. Thank you!
Peter, there are actually many Mennonite youtubers.
I’m ready to move. I embraced the community of Pinecraft’s values.
Same here Jeannine!! I love it!! Living here and watching this is so interesting!

I have to say, the whole time watching this video i was smiling. Made me realize how far off track we've become as a society and how toxic my city and culture is. This video made my day cause it brought back memories of how great things were back then and that it actually still can exist. I could see, hear and feel how genuine and sincere these peoples love and kindness for one another was. Thank you for this video and for giving me hope in society again :)
I’m from the Netherlands and this video reminded me of how my grandparents lived 30 years ago, only with shitty weather.😝 Many things about “their” way of life are still present here, but it also shows me that the devil won many battles here.
Don't delude yourself in thinking that they are happy. There's alot of shaming in their cult. Sexuality is repressed. No thank you.
Im just finding this video, while watching I scrolled to see if anyone else commented about smiling the whole time. Yes, theres problems within the Amish (I have a friend whos ex Amish and have heard a lot), but theres problems within all groups of people. I worked with Amish for about 6-8 months in Topeka, IN and I have nothing but massive respect and reverence for the Amish community. They are wonderful, hard working, and very fun people. Sure, they have their problems and drama, but that's because they're human just like everyone else!
Also, I'd argue that the Amish were the wisest people in this country by deciding to stay away from technology. Technology will be the end of us, and we are seeing a taste of that right now.
Why is technology bad? Facebook, Google, Apple, Twitter, CNN, etc.?
@@cheaserceaser Because it reduces in person human interaction and is a massive platform for propaganda
@@fitcwebb What propaganda? CNN is most trusted news network according to infomercial.
Im moving to Middlebury. Very close to Topeka! Nice place. Quiet and peaceful
@@cheaserceaser Facebook is on record on censoring information during the 2019 Election in order to sway voters a particular way. Google and Apple collect information and routinely passive aggressively mock and disrespect the common man who does not believe what they believe. Twitter is a mess with many crazed, strongly opinionated people who lean left doxxing and bothering those that they disagree with; it is mainly used as a propaganda tool by The Left. CNN has removed its the mask and revealed they're just a left wing propaganda, fear-mongering network.
My late husband worked with an Amish man for a bit & we were invited to fish his families pond. Let me tell you we caught a stringer and they invited us back for a fish fry on the 4th of July. That was, and still is to this day, the best fish fry I've ever attended. The food was absolutely amazing. They were extremely accommodating and told us we were now family & welcomed us back anytime.
what a difference between the mainstream media reporting on things and this. Such a blessing. Thank you, Peter!
Wherever you go you always say lots of open people, I must say they way you interact with people makes it very difficult to not be open :) GREAT job Peter.
Major respect
This warmed my heart. When I was young I was aware of the Amish and I respected them. I knew they were strong in their faith and known to be hard workers. What I didn't realize was how most are so open and good hearted. I know they utilize modern conveniences a bit more then days of old, but this still goes to show how the materialistic desires from the rest of us rarely lead to a similar level of happiness and content. Well done.
Not so much they desire materialism it's just to stay competitive sometimes it's necessary.

Hasidic Jews seem like really awesome and fun people. They definitely appreciate America and her freedoms.
As EVERY extreme religion. Amish, Hasidic, etc....Peter just covered the surface. There is a lot more to see underneath it all.
@@monicack523 he is not trying to cover the religion as much as the community and way of life. Which he does very well but still if you don't live it you will not understand. There is a difference between just believing something and actually living your life and acting with the principles of Faith gives you a much bigger purpose and feeling of connection that will make ppl happier than freedom to do what you want even though it might not be good for you as we see in a lot of society problems today
@Popeye That irony when you actualy sound like fascist... but as for you as westerner you are excused ofcourse and it doesnt surpirise when you use/overuse words like fascist without knowing their meaning.
@@monicack523 Peter doesn't make these videos to convert people to Amish or Hasidic Judaism, you know? He's doing this to show us all communities which a lot of us don't get the chance to see especially if we don't live in America, and with these videos he's trying to show us the reality of those people and how their communities look like, and trying to get an opinion from the inside. I am pretty sure most of his viewers are intelligent enough to know that these communities are not perfect but we can still learn a lot from them and start to appreciate the things that we no longer pay attention to. I live in a Jewish community although I'm not Jewish, but I appreciate a lot of things at these people and I have learned a lot from seeing them every day. There's things to learn from everywhere, you just need to have an open mind and be less judging, nobody is telling you to join their community.

Yeah that impressed me too.
I am Australian and in our culture one of the most sacred common-sense rules is to respect the line to everything. Everyone follows that rule no matter where they are. What the Amish did for Peter right there was special in my view. Let alone the fact that Peter is not Amish either. Man ! That tells you everything you need to know about Pinecraft’s Amish/Mennonite people.
Couldn't you tell it wasn't the people waiting in line who let him skip but that he was called in by the restaurant workers? Some of those waiting actually looked a bit upset to me. This is publicity for them, of course they let him skip.

Peter’s gonna be growing a beard before we know it! I absolutely envy the simple life and really long for its return. We think technology makes our lifes simpler when in reality it only complicates things,
As a 5th gen native Floridian who loves country music and bluegrass, I can definitely say the yodeling day was my favorite 😍 you can also tell it has a strong Christian influence to the music.
Peter does an amazing job in overturning stereotypes; he did it with the Saudis, Hadisic Jews, Pakistanis and now the Amish.
Thank you for showing us the truth and a different perspective to the world!
For Peter to think that $21.61 is a bargain for a typical meal for one person would be a giveaway that he lives in San Francisco, largely considered (along with NYC), to be one of America's most expensive city, if not the most.
7% tax on food in Florida, plus he had the desert.
It’s so crazy that we come into contact with so many people on a daily basis that we never have actual communication with & everybody has there own life that we could learn from & that’s exactly what your channels about, love it!

we have an Amish resturant close by my home in Southern Ontario. The food is wonderful and yes, the baking is so good !
There's a Mennonite community somewhere near Sarnia in Southwestern Ontario that used to cross into the US to shop about once a month. What’s really interesting is that the Hasidic community that you previously covered, visits Lancaster PA in droves a couple of times a year (during holidays) etc. The parallels between these two communities is pretty remarkable.

I didnt see many young people (20-30s) around either...
@@ponysoldier6770 that is because they are working -- not normally hanging out in a retirement village :-)
The kids do what kids do. They go to Siesta Key beach its 15 minutes away. They dont play Bacci or shuffle board.
I am a Muslim and love the closeness and the community these people have. They're living a real life
I’m from Pennsylvania, I grew up here and I have seem Amish all my life… They’re such great people and we all have things to learn from them…
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing and breaking down stereotypes.
DAM PETE! This was so enjoyable..you have just opened our eyes to some special people. From a heavy Amish area in Wisconsin
This is probably the happiest I have seen you in any video in any location. What a great place with such amazing and welcoming people in this community. Looks like you had a great time there! Thanks for sharing. Opened up my eyes too!
It makes me so happy to see a video about people who most of us aren’t familiar and to learn about them without the sarcasm and meanness that you typically get from soo many people in this day and age! So good!
I grew up in a very protestant environment in the North of the Netherlands (where some of the Calvinist/Lutherian Amish roots are from) and I recognise so much in this. My most religious family members would live very frugal, sensible lives but their main devotion was absolutely to the community and the family.
@Paride Scordo No they dont. And they wouldnt be able to. In the Netherlands people dont have much tolerance for conservative religion, or any religion really. You cant be too different here. Much more freedom, diversity and tolerance in the US.
@Paride Scordo The Christians and Jews got it easy. You should see how they treat Muslims in places like the Netherlands and France. And they call themselves tolerant🤣🤣
@@jaydawg2023 Didnt the IRS of your country discriminate Muslims on PAPER and OFFICIAL. Now imagine if you did that to Jews.
I'm from The Netherlands and it's so funny to see all those people on bikes in sort of traditional Dutch costumes. It looks so strange, like the people remind me of old Dutch landscape paintings but then the landscape it self is like modern day tropical neighborhood lol. Would be a funny painting.
Just stumbled on your channel and LOVE IT! I'm learning so much about Amish and other cultures...THIS is the reason why I'm saving up for an RV and travel the country....Take in the cultures of different towns, see beautiful national parks, and make new friends along the way.😁
I found your videos today and absolutely love them. I can't wait to watch all of the rest. I love learning about other cultures and you present them with such respect and dispel so many misbeliefs I had in the Amish. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.
I want to be Amish, Lovely people
they play hard and are friendly, but theyre also some of the hardest working people youll ever meet
Me too but I can't!
They have their own issues believe me
@@sirfitz8125 them and everyone else on the planet (and off it)
THAT WAS AWESOME!! 💟💟💟
I got to stay with Amish people in Pennsylvania when I was like 8 years old for a week. I appreciate that forever the fact that my parents gave me that opportunity. It was beautiful!! 🌿🌿🌿
I went to a Summer Camp run by the Mennonites and there were plenty of Amish there, too..
I really enjoyed myself, I’ll never forget those two weeks in Pennsylvania
Love your videos. I enjoy how you celebrate our differences and treat everyone with such dignity and respect. You don't judge or challenge., and everyone is able to open to you. Keep these videos coming, I think they are among the best on CZcams!
Just watched both parts in their entirety. That was such a fun, cool and exciting experience! They are truly some of the most kind, loving people I have ever come across :). We could all take notes from the love and kindness these lovely folks have shown. Cheers :)
Watching these communities feels like decluttering my brain. Wish I could have a community like that
I love watching these. I recommend reaching out to the Russian Orthodox Old Believer community in Oregon. We’re both interesting and fairly inviting. The food rocks too :)
I think I've been binge watching your videos for 5 hrs straight. It's the content and intention that I want to see on TV and in many documentaries but don't get at all.
TV died 20 years ago.. it's all here now. as long as you have the discipline to block out the cheap rubbish and trash that is also plenty on the internet, the internet is a goldmine
