Hallelujah! I'm so happy it worked out for you. It gives me hope that I can get my S60 running again. Going to take a while to save up the money, but hopefully by spring. My issues seem to be exactly as you described yours. The immobilizer kicked in, can't reset it. The scanner says nothing is communicating. That's crazy! I was about to give up too. I'm looking forward to watching your follow-ups.

Yeah it took down communications to all major modules.

Also Josh from xemodex was very helpful with the exact diagnosis instructions via email.

I may have the same problem. Engine turns over but will not start. The problem started when my remote key fell apart. Could be the the key is no longer communicating with my S60? I understand your relief. Mine has been out of service for a month. The S60R is worth every effort to keep it on the road. They are beautiful machines. My 2004 S60 still looks like new!

Not sure. If the key has removable chip it could of fell out.

Dude your videos are so high quality. I am a new Volvo owner (2018 S60 T5 Inscription) and I really appreciate the insight you give me to the Volvo heritage.

Very nice! What was the procedure that xemodex had you do before discovering it was the ECM?

Hello! My father has a 2001 v70 T5 which has some electronic faults. It seems to have fuel pressure but 9/10 times will not start. Only cranks.
I saw some codes for CEM connection errors with ecm and abs and other modules. I’m wondering if it had a bad ECM or CEM. I saw xedmodex sells modules and they also test them. Any advice on what I should do? Trying to be as budget friendly as possible. Not sure if I should rebuild a module when I haven’t even ran any other tests than a VIDA scan.
    Thanks!

    hi ,
does the ECM HAVE LOCKS OR SCREWS TO KEEP IT IN-PLACE OR CAN I JUST PULL IT OUT ???

    • @BuiltForSpeed

There is two lock slides on bottom i think they are pink you have to slide back with longer flat head screw driver on both sides of ecm
