      Agreed, they should but, millions of Indians have walked through this train station area without attempting to clean anything. Gov'ts do a great job hiring cleaners here in the U.S. and keep our cities (except the homeless spots), very clean. Indian gov't can do the same.

      @BatwomanAgreed. Walk the streets of Copenhagen and you'll be lucky to find a single piece of garbage, anywhere. A combination of laws, gov't paid cleaning and self respect for one's land, is the way to keep a city and country clean. India has a LONG way to go, in every aspect.

    • @Shetasen
      @Shetasen Před 5 lety +3

      It takes small steps. By doing the cleanup they already seeded the joy and the connection of a place to the children and students who came to help clean up. They now know what it looks like being clean, they will remember being part of It. Stewardship and volunteerism is something that never goes away and once you find an activity that you like, you end up craving for it and will begin doing individual actions until it spreads. It sounds very idealistic, but it does work. Humans instinctively want greener places, we also naturally desire and need cleaner air, land, water. Government can help speed things up and support it, but it takes the people's desire to actually help to move it forward.

    Half of India's problems can be solved by properly educating our youths.
    Reserve some time for cleaning once a week in schools .( Like NCC , NSS in ARmy Schools , DAVs , Kvs etc )
    Most schools generally have this concept but cleaning is done by students who are dfauters ( Without proper uniform ) and thus it makes students believe that cleaning is a bad job .
