    Just bought the vevor myself for my garage/shop so I can continue my tinkering through the winter. Really appreciate your video especially the power supply tip. I bought 2 of these heaters for obvious reasons plus I’m not insulated either. I wished they had sexier voice on these. Thanks 😊

    Pal chucked me one of these heaters a few weeks ago - I kinda ignored it. Today, it was Baltic here, so I decided to bother my hoop installing it so it heats the gaff. This was inspired by the missus whinging a lot about the cold. Pretty much.
    Not wanting to put any effort in, I held it back to just drilling a 100mm hole through the kitchen wall, banging the heater into place, covering it with an old glorified tupperware box I had & wiring it into a spare outside light circuit via a laptop power supply. . Despite the crude methods, it sparked right up - amazing really as I filled it using processed waste oil from the workshop - roughly 30c a liter - roughly being the operative word.
    Skip ahead 1 hour & I am a Hero with Herself - the kitchen is like the Bahamas, she's going round without the winter tights on & the dogs are all semi-comatose due to the heat.
    I'm now a big fan of these because our kitchen is massive & unless you set the units themselves on fire, it's never warm despite having 2 radiators running off the "proper" heating system - till today. Today - thanks to this "cheapo" heater, it's toasty - -3c outside, which is a proper test. 5 Stars - go buy one.

  • @kimmer6

    I have been using these Chinese diesel heaters for 3+ years. There were 2 major improvements that I made worth passing on to viewers.
    First, I added a small engine plastic fuel filter between the tank and pump suction. After a season of heating, my fuel pump stopped right after refueling. The dirt that accumulates at the bottom of the tank gets stirred up while adding fuel and it only takes a tiny bit to seize up the pump. The heater ran for 2 seasons flawlessly after putting in the filter. I run red off road non taxed diesel fuel.
    Secondly, I added a 12 volt LED light to the outside of the fuel tank near the pump and attached it with aluminum foil tape to keep the light inside. I can see the fuel level from 40 feet down my hallway and it's clearly visible on my cell phone using the video ''Pet Camera'' for a quick look.
    The other helpful thing is that I refuel with 2 small 5 liter plastic jugs that have push button spouts. In 2 seasons of operation, I have not spilled a single drop of fuel. The unit gets topped off in the morning and in the evening. The heater runs 24/7 on position 2 at night and up to 4,5, or 6 for a while in the morning from November through mid February. Fuel burn is 1/2 a tank in 12 hours on position 2. There is usually someone home but if we all leave, I burn the unit at heat setting 6 for 10 minutes then shut it down.
    I built a lithium battery box in 2017 and it powers my diesel heater. The battery box suffered some severe abuse in its time but never dies. There is a lithium battery charger on it that is constantly plugged in to the grid. When the power fails, the heater will still run for 12-14 hours and can do its proper cool down sequence without the grid. I always buy 2 of everything and have a new diesel heater in a box. I really like these things!

    The pump noise is amplified by the sheet metal case of the unit. Some units are much worse than others and this one is about the loudest. Many youtube vids can be watched on how to make pump quieter and are helpful if you want to reduce pump noise. I just put one in garage and it works great. I built a small wood box for the pump to reduce the noise.

    I brought 2 of these for my uninsulated garage after all the local gas stations in my area got rid of kerosene and now I had to buy $10 a gallon kerosene from Home Depot. I don't need toasty warm I just needed it warm enough so I could workout in my garage gym, this uses way less fuel than my kerosene heater and diesel service stations are abundant

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  Před 7 měsíci

      210 square feet is more accurate. My shop is 12' x 16' (192 sq ft). You'd need 5 of these for an area that big. This is only $140ish dollars. You'd want a furnace for an area that large that would cost $1000 to $2000

      Gas cap might not be venting. Creating lock in gas tank. Or bad coil, where the heat is triggering malfunction???

  • @michaelbrinks8089

    Another thing I wanna build is a combination of portable generator/heater...Simply put a generator in an insulatated box with a couple air ducts and fans. Route the exhaust pipe gasses outside. The insulatated box will quiet the generator engine noise plus is used to direct hot engine & exhaust pipe/muffler, heat into your building. That way , for the same amount of propane or gasoline you're burning. You're getting heat plus electricity. Instead of just heat only like you would from a propane heater.....A generator setup to run on propane would be best. But gasoline could be used if all the exhaust fumes are vented outside.
    When people tell me it won't work because blah blah blah. I explain it's been done years ago in air cooled VW beetle cars for it's heater... It's the exact same principle. VW captures the heat from the engine/hot exhaust pipe, with heat exchanger and blows the warm air into the interior.
    If you had a gas/propane generator that was liquid cooled. You could do the same by adding radiator & fan. Same as a car engine. A car engine provides electricity & heat from the engine.
    The same can be applied to a 3000w generator to help heat a garage.
    People think it sounds odd, despite being the exact same principle used to get heat & electricity from a car engine.
    Obviously the car engines main purpose is to move the car but heat & electricity can also be made.
    A portable generators main purpose is to provide electricity. But it can be easily made to provide heat..A 6hp gas engine actually makes a lot of heat. The same amount of heat as a small propane heater.

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yup. This think dumps a lot of heat out w/ the exhaust. I was thinking of passing it thru a radiator/box inside to get the waste heat into the space

      @michaelbrinks8089 Před 7 měsíci

      @@HughesMotorized Yeah....Like a free large heater core or oil cooler....The same concept as using a longer stove pipe to radiate more heat into the room.....Instead of a short pipe, letting more heat escape.

    Yes I interested in one of these myself, thanks for the review, but we have a very Commy type minister for transport who is a green party leader here in Ireland 🇮🇪, and they just build cycle lanes everywhere instead of public toilets for the elderly taxpayers, so he want cyclelanes everywhere instead, he doesn't want diesel heaters, we should just wear extra jumpers and cycle and have extra showers each day and wash our swetty clothes in washing machiens with only one cold inlet pipe and heat the water up with electricity, unlike the older hot and cold hose pipe inlets like the older type models, so this is modern apliances for you.

      People's Republik of Kalifornia.
      All sales of new petrol powered lawn and garden equipment will be banned throughout our State starting on the 1st day of January 2024. Sales of natural gas appliances will be banned in my area in 2026. We are SUPPOSED to convert all stoves, ovens, water heaters, and central furnaces from natural gas to all electric in the near future. There is talk about banning new petrol powered home generators despite the grid failing 6 times this year with outages from 1 hour to 8 hours.
