  • MoCA or Multimedia over Coax is one way to set up your network if running ethernet cable is not an option. This system uses existing (or new) coax cable for your network. An adapter converts the signal to run over your coax and allows you to extend your network.

My question would be how to use it when I am using a cable ISP. My cable jack in the wall is bringing internet to my modem. Is this only compatible with fiber or something else that doesn’t already use your cable?

MOCA can go through your COAX...it travels both ways. plug coax from the wall into one unit..then the ethernet of that unit to your router. then in the other rooms plug the coax into the unit from the wall, and plug the ethernet cable into the device you want the connection to. You can even plug it into a hub first and then to multiple devices. G.nh or whatever that other type of ethernet over coax required "dead coax" with no signal from the ISP going through them...Moca doesnt need dead coax. Hope that all makes sense.
